Chip Implants for Dogs

I am the proud owner of 4 rat terriers, we just moved into a new home. Got our fence up ect. I recieved the worst call of my life my dogs dug a whole under the gate and got out. Bless my neighbors who got three. My baby Mulligan is missing she is wearing tags and the Avid ID chip. Calling all the organizations and placing ads on Florida Today. I was told by the chip agency that not all pets are scanned for Identification when taken to animal clinics. I called my vet and it was confirmed that they only check if persons bringing in the dogs say that they found the animal. You know as well as I if someone wants the animal they are not going to claim the dog was Lost or Found. We Need to change this practice.

I thought the chip was inplace for the protection of our animals. And bring them home safely.

Lost: brown head/white body with Brown Saddle spot. Palm Bay Florida missing as of Feb.5, 2008 Se Palm Bay. Last Seen- Babcock and Wago. Please Help Find Mulligan and Bring her home. 8-11 lbs. baby scar on theigh. We relocated from NE Palm Bay. Please call 321-704-4466

OMG, I pray you find Mulligan. I would just die if I lost my pup, I feel for you. Please let us know if you find her.

ALL Humane Society's, SPCA's etc and 99.9% of VETS have scanners and do scan found animals to help locate the owners. Call your locate shelter and do daily checks with them. I will take the info you have posted and send it out to all the RESCUE GROUPS IN THE PALM BAY AREA.

I will be praying for Mulligans safe return. I was just talking to my husband about getting our Rottweiler & Boxer implanted with a chip, just incase they ever get out of the yard. We don't know to much about the tracking process, but we were led to believe that ALL vets scan critters that are brought into clinics for care...I guess I was mis-informed.
Please let us know if your baby comes home safely.

To all the wonderfull people that prayed for Mulligan safe return she's back today.!!!
I got a call around 11:30 this morning from a young lady Name Allison, she said she seen a dog in her woods for several days. she would leave food for her but Mulligan would not let be captured. As I been advertising in Florida Today. I decided to call Jim at Florida today and include a picture this was featured in todays paper. I am so happy I did. Allison said she has seen my ad but did not know what a rat terrier was till she saw her picture this morning and knew it was mine. God bless her for calling. I am the happist mom ever. My husband and I went to her woods and each of us took one side and called her name. He sees her and she got scared abit and ran inside again. I was at the other end and she heard my voice and came out. I layed on the ground and said Mulligan mama wants kisses I love you Mulligan. I was scared she run off if I chased her so I layed down and called for her to give me kisses, like we done many of times. she ran to me and kissed my face and then she new she was safe.

I can't tell you how happy I was to hear that Mulligan is back home safe and sound, what a great ending for everyone. Thank you so much for letting us know. Most of the time we never find out if a lost pup ever gets found. Thank God for Allison!
