Our soon to be "Exhalted Leader and Saviour of the World , aka Barry Bigears, will have his hands full ,for sure.

How can any mortal human be expected to correct the blunders of Bush in just 4 years...this could be a 12 year project and require a world war to overcome (remember the Great Depression and WW2?).

Part of the recovery may be the redistribution of wealh in the country. A report I saw yesterday says that 1% of the US population controls 90% of the wealth of the Country.

ONE PERCENT.

One very effective way to even the playing field is to tax the ultra wealthy ONE PERCENT at a FAIR rate, let's say 45%. The guy who makes 100 million a year gets to keep 55 million per year........how much $$$ does anybody need anyway? Isn't 55 MILLION enought to fill the jet and buy the caviar?

The 45 million paid by the greedy ones and others like them could be used to help pay the national debt. created by the REPUBLICANS. at this rate of justly taxing the fat cats, the defict from Dumbo could be repaid in 1,346 years instead of NEVER.

Prior to the socialism, Marxism and Nationalization of private business by GW and Comrade Paulson, I never would have advocated such a thing. Since we have fallen off the cliff as a Nation and we are no longer a free enterprise country, why not take it to a logical conclusion.

Sock it to the FAT CATS, they are the complete and toal cause of the current economic tsunami and they NEED TO  PAY,  instead of getting more $$$ from the BAILOUT.

FAIR IS FAIR.

It is this moronic thinking that will be the downfall of this country.

Why should a rich person pay a higher % of their money?
1) They cost the government less because they use less
2) More than likely, they support people with some of that money, so they provide to more people.

So, wouldn't it be fair for every person in the country to be taxed at the same percentage? This way, the "ultra-rich" pay more money, but still a fair percentage.

I saw a report that said the top 5% of the country pays 95% of the taxes, so... is upping really fair?

So, yes... fair is fair Yellowdog, but, what you are proposing is totally unfair and socailistic... and I do not wish to head towards the Soviets of the 80's.

Fair tax for all.

Lets try making GOVERNMENT smaller, Cheaper to cut down...I'm not sure we can stand him in office 4 yrs much less 2 terms.. I don't like his socailstic approach to our troubles and his welfare for all isn't going to get it either...Wanting to add 12.5 million people more to the SS payroll that we paid into isn't going to help either....I've heard about this Fair Tax movement, but haven't read up on it, so I will wait to comment on it..Thanks

corndog, can you say : " Fair Tax " ? Everyone pays that way, and the as you call them " Fat Cats " consume more expensive items pay a greater portion. But only if they can't live without those Lamborginis, G-5's, cruisers and yachts. A straight 15 % across the board sounds pretty good. You seem to have forgotten that the Fannie May and Freddie Mac meltdown was due in large part to the laws governing lending orchestrated by the DEMOCRATIC PARTY. CSPAN has plenty of footage and soundtrack of their actions. Bill Gates is one of those ULTRA rich guys, made it himself the old fashioned AMERICAN WAY ! How many jobs do you think this ONE man creates in AMERICA, corndog ?

As to the Fair is Fair, corndog, find the Congressmen and Senators that did the recent rewrites on lending practices and the market regulations and put them under a magnifying glass long enough to FRY EM ! As it stands now, DUE TO CURRENT LAW, there is no WRONG DOING in the eyes ( blind ) of the law.
