With mother's day right around the corner, I wanted to take a moment to wish my mother a very special mother's day. This is probably going to be the hardest mother's day for my mother to have to endure. I can't even image what she's going to go through, with the loss of my brother still so fresh on her heart.

Mom,

I know this year is going to be especially hard for you. With Steve's death still so fresh on our hearts, and our grief still so raw. I want you to know that no matter how hard it is, I'll be there for you.

I love you so much, and not just because you're my mother. You're far more to me than just my mom. You're my best friend, my mentor, and my strength. You taught me how to be strong when I was at my weakest. Yet showed me the art of compassion with your shoulder to cry on and a safe house to sleep in after I fled from Jim.

I wish there was some way I could ease your pain this mother's day, but I know I can't. I am a very lucky and blessed woman, I've never lost a child. My prayers will be with you, and I want you to know that Steve will come to make sure you have  a happy mother's day. He's never missed one yet, and even though he's in a better place. He's still a "Roy", and as a "Roy" we all know he'll finish up all his projects in heaven. To make sure that you know, he's still around and loves you so very much.

You told me on my birthday this year that I was a very good mother. Well mom, I had a great role model to take notes from. Because if I'm a good mother it's only because you showed me how. You are a fantastic mother, an I'm blessed that you're mine.

Happy Mother's Days Mom, may God Bless you.

I love you, Sylvia

I would also like to take a moment to wish all of my blogger friends, Scooch, MemoryJoe, Dasvics, and all the rest of you A very Happy Mother's Day. It's our day ladies, let's make the most of it.

Sylvia...:)

CLOSURE IS A STRANGE WORD. SHE HAS GREAT FAMILY. HANG IN THERE. IT IS OK TO FEEL SAD. CERTAIN TIMES OF THE DAY, CERTAIN HOILIDAYS ALL OF THAT. YOU BE THE DAUGHTER AND MOM YOU ARE.THANX FOR PUTTING ME AMONG YOUR THOUGHTS IN YOPUR BLOG I JUST SAW IT AND IT MEANS SO MUCH. HERE IS TO MEMORIAL DAY AND A GREAT SUMMER.

How sweet of you, I just saw your post. I hope you have a wonderful day. It is so nice to see a loving family with such caring siblings. You and your brother, are an example to us all. I will share your beautiful story with my children. I hope they love and care for each other, as you and your brother. take care :)

Thank you all, I appreciate your feed back.

dasvics, that's very touching thank you. One thing I am extremely proud of outside of my two boys. Is that no matter how far apart our family is, when one of us is in dire need. We all will ralley around and do what ever we can to see them through it. Don't get me wrong, we are probably the most disfunctional family you'll ever meet.

Anyway thank you again, and yes I feel very blessed to have the love of my family continuously around me.

Speaking of families, my oldest is coming out from NV to take myself and my mother out to breakfast this monday. The new semester is going to start soon, and he's starting a new job. So he wanted to come out while he has the time. I'm so excited, I haven't seen him since my brother's funeral.

hi Sylvia,
I just read another one of your posts. Thankyou for including me as one of your "friends". But I'm not nice when I get insulted and disrespected by mean people that put me down when I dont agree with them.
So, dont give me too much credit- I can be just as rude as the next guy.
However, towards nice respectful people, I am sweet as honey. It doesn't matter if we disagree- as long as we treat each other with kindness and respect. I see that in you, asnapper, scooch, caitriona, Debbie, salswife, and other ladies and guys I cant remember their names.
very cool intelligent people.

hey did u see the prayer you inspired me to make one night? this one:

I think we need God. a lot.

Edit | Delete My prayer for tonight,

God, please protect our brave men and women, please alleviate any suffering they or their families might endure.

Please help our country now, more than ever, since I think we have lost our minds.

Please continue to protect us from those who would love to harm us and destroy us.

Please help and comfort those in need, as you do me.

Please guide and inspire our leaders so that they can start making smart and clear decisions.

Please continue to be patient with us, even though we clearly don’t deserve it.

May your will be done here on Earth as it is done in Heaven.

I thank you for all I have and all that I am. Amen.

Inspired by wrks4me,

Thanks. 0:-)

Wow, thank you so much you're very sweet. I feel the same way, I can be the most ruthless person you've ever met. As long as I'm shown respect I will give respect.

My love lives for my Lord, which allows me to have compassion for all beings. Don't get me wrong, believe me I'm no saint. I was blessed with a quick tounge, or some people refer to it as being able to think quickly on my feet. Fortunately most of the time it's usually used in humor with quick comebacks if you know what I mean. (like Roseanne sorta). Unfortunately it can be very cruel, specially towards someone that's hurt me dearly. Like my Ex for instance, if you were to look back at the little fight we had on the blog. You could see where I wasn't being very nice, and that was extreemly mild compared to some of the emails the two of us have exchanged.

I guess what I'm getting at, yet not doing a very good job of it is this. I'm better at responding than initiating. You're post actually inspired me to post what I did. You had hit the point so well, that I jut felt what I said was just the potatoe that comes with the steak. It just compliments the great tasting steak.

Here I am talking about how good I am at responding and I don't feel like this is coming out very good... lol

Anyway, I guess I just wanted to say thank you, and not only am I proud to call you my friend but I'm blessed that you see me as your friend.

If you want e-mail me at my public address, and I'll send you my personal one.

hey, if it makes u feel any better, know ur not the only one having to deal with dorks. I think at some point we all have to set a man straight! Im sure there are men that feel the same about certain women.
I went through 4! frogs b4 I met my prince. the other 4 where just boyfriends but- might of ended up husbands, if not for God and good friends looking out for me. so dont worry dear, you'll find your prince. youll see.

I recently lost my older brother Steve to lung cancer. My father told him when he was a child to take care of his little sister. And he never stopped, we couldn't have been closer had we been twins. He would have been 49 this month. My outlook on life now more than ever is, life is way to short don't sweat the small stuff. Laugh your way through life. If you don't feel you have anything to laugh about, pray to your God to provide you with something to laugh about. But more importantly have faith that he will provide you with all your needs. R.I.P. Steve, I love you! March 20, 1958 - Feb 22, 2007
