I was talking with our intern, Michelle, about this issue (I have no idea what made me think this). So what if MillerCoors leave Milwaukee -- is the Brew City not the Brew City anymore?

What impact do you think it will have with the image of the city? Is MillerCoors really all that important for the Milwaukee economy?

It's time to get ourselves talking about some of the issues we are facing in our ever changing Milwaukee landscape. I would like to hear what you think.

If MillerCoors Corporate leaves it will be a devastating blow to Milwaukee.
Milwaukee has lost so much industry already.
I hope they make the right decision.

It's almost like one of many few last pieces of Sanity left in Milwaukee that says "MILWAUKEE"

MillerCoors leaving Milwaukee would be a testament to the ineptitude of City Hall. They've convinced themselves somehow that Milwaukee is a "business friendly" city. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Milwaukee is rapidly becoming known for its violence and nothing more. I would wish that businesses would not leave Milwaukee, but I understand why they choose to do so.

This is the legacy of Liberalism. They've regulated, mandated, and taxed business to the point of it being almost impossible to operate and make a profit. Once the jobs are gone those who refuse to live off the "charity" of the Government leave for areas where there are jobs, So what do you have left?
The working class are finding it harder and harder to support their own families without being expected to have to support the lame and lazy as well. It's time this Government reassess their role and the increasing intrusion in private industry, and the people of this country need to quite expecting the Government to support their sorry a--es.

I happen to like the MILLER BRAND of beer's( M G D) I think is there very best. The reason they may leave Milwaukee is this. Put your self in there shoes the amount of taxes they pay in Wisconsin is much higher then in Colorado and the crime rate is much lower in Denver then in Milwaukee. So you can thank
JIM HIGH TAXES DOYLE for rise in the Corporate Taxes. That will drive business away from Milwaukee. Also look at the rise in crime in Milwaukee only 2% make it on or in the News at 5 oclock or at 9 Oclock. It may not be as bad as Chicago or New York yet, must we wait until it gets as bad before people wake up and put not welcome sign to gangs and drugs. The Police can not do it alone it's time to take back your city MILWAUKEE.

The corporate headquarters of Miller-Coors will probably not be in Milwaukee. I am wondering if this was part of the merger agreement. As soon as talks of the merger began, talk began about where the headquarters would be. From the start, there was talk about the headquarters moving to a "neutral" location. If the headquarters moves, how long will it be before the manufacturing component moves too? And I am not just talking about Miller and Milwaukee, but Coors as well. What happens when they decide to open a "third" manufacturing plant in Texas (which as I understand it is, along with Chicago one of the locations under consideration) in order to expand and streamline distribution in the south, only to cost jobs at the other two plants. Then, when they decide it would be more cost effective to move the rest of the operations to one central location, Milwaukee is left with .... a very empty Menominee valley.

It is true that Milwaukee is known throughout the country for it's rising tide of violence. Race relations are horrible here, while the rest of the country seems to be able to get along with only isolated problems, Milwaukee is self-destructing. Blame it on all the usual suspects if you like, but here is the crux of it: parents tolerate bad behavior from their kids, and the kids grow up into adults who behave badly. As adults, their opportunities are squashed, not by a society of inequities, but by their own bad behavior.

Milwaukee ... I came home to it ... three times, for no other reason than it is home. Now I wonder if I shouldn't have stayed in one o

While it is true crime is on the rise we can not keep blame it on race alone. Our own nations past may not be perfect. I think everyone should look into the history of europe, or asia there is not one country on earth who did not have a problem with race. We had our problems to we can rise above that if we choose to. Or we can put are heads in the sand and be the do nothing crowd. Or we can stand up and put out the ( NOT WELCOME SIGN ),
to crime and gang crimes and drugs. It's time to stand up and take back your city MILWAUKEE ! And show crime and gangs the way out of town and out of Wisconsin.
