April Fools Day is also Election Day in Milwaukee. It is expected that 20% of registered voters will be headed to the polls. There are various races happening throughout the state including Milwaukee Mayor, Milwaukee County Executive, and State Supreme Court Justice.

While this may be a more local election than the primary, are you particularly excited about the races?

Let's put you in the shoes of the politicians. Share with us what you feel are the big issues of the day where you live and in the State of Wisconsin.

(By the way, last week I was sick so I didn't do my Carlos' Corner. I'm back now)

This year incumbents are facing some pretty weak competition. Barret vs. Shaw? Just listening to the guy gives me the what the bleep face. Langley vs. Pedro? Pedro doesn't even know what the job entails. His commercials promises things the city attorney can't do. I'm not saying Langley was the perfect city attorney, but things will only get worse with Pedro. Taylor vs. Walker? Taxes are crazy out of control, and making them higher will solve the problem? I'll stick with my under performing Scott Walker. He's cheaper. Idk, my alderman had absolutely no competition as well. Who the heck is really gonna knock Willie Hines from his spot? The only race that'll be close is probably the butler and Gableman race.

I went and did my civic duty after work early this afternoon. The polls were extremely quiet. I was #631 at about 1:30P.M. Two other voters besides myself were voting. One of my main reasons for making sure I went and voted today was for our city of Franklin mayoral race & the 4 people running for the school board position. Oh yes, lets not forget the "Frankenstein" Veto. What it all comes down to is that I don't want them (the mayor) throwing my tax dollars around. As far as the school board election goes, I want a candidate that will see to it that there's a better communication with the taxpayers and are willing to let the taxpayer express their concerns in regards to important issues. Regarding the "Frankenstein" Veto, I say kill that monster!!

Well, I was working at the polls yesterday as a City Election Inspector, and I noticed and predicted the turn out. I didn't vote on Election Day, but I did it with an absentee ballot the week earlier. Some of the candidates I picked won, and most I did pick didn't came close. Oh well - At least I did vote.

Yeah, it was a small portion came out and rocked the vote. And I'm thinking that the next two Election Days in September and November might be different in attendance. We'll see.
