I was listening to the radio today and heard someone say "a 20% voter turnout is fairly good and is what I would expect." WHAT?!  One of the things our forefathers fought for was the right to vote and only 1 in 5 of eligible voters actually do it? This is not "fairly good" its disgusting!  There are people out there who don't even have the right to vote and here we are neglecting our civic duty.  We can't even squeak out over 50% in a presidential election! Why have we become so lazy?

It's amazing isn't it?  We went from chilling cold, ice-storms, and gigantic snow drifts to 50's fog, thunderstorms and even some possible tornadoes.  In this last month (and a half) Wisconsin has seen weather from all sides of the spectrum.  I now know why we say, "If you don't like the weather in Wisconsin, wait ten minutes."

Talk about bad timing.  I woke up this morning at 4:30 to watch the lunar eclipse.  After I ate my breakfast I ventured outside to catch a glimpse of the celestial show only to find that during the total eclipse stages, clouds rolled through and I ended up not seeing any part of the eclipse.

Did anyone else see it?

My family and I were talking about the tornado that went through our area just six months ago. We then went on to discuss all of our weather memories. So I was wondering if anybody has a memorable weather story they want to share.

Mine would have to be the Father's Day tornado. We live on a hill are we were able to see the whole thing. It was amazing to see my first tornado. The winds by our house were very strong, and after the storm my Dad and I saw broken tree limbs and an uprooted tree not five hundered feet from our house. It was unfortunate that it happened to the citizens of Hartford, but it really showed me my place in the world. Nature is obviously on top.

So post your weather stories because I'm sure others out there would like to know.

I enjoy SE Wisconsin's weather extremes. From very cold and snowy in the winter to severe thunderstorms in the summer. Whats a better place to live? I also enjoy the sport of running, in which I always have at least one eye to the sky.
