So far we have already had two named systems. We are already ahead of 2005's tropical season so it has been a busy start. There are 3 weak tropical waves out there and they will not become anything to keep an eye on. However, there is one system that the National Hurricane Center is looking at and may send a plane into this afternoon. This disturbance is located south of central Cuba. It has flared up and calmed down for the past couple of days now. It is heading northwest at about 20kts. Conditions have and will not be favorable for development within the next 48 hours. After that, the winds in the upper atmosphere (shearing) will slow down and development could happen. The Gulf of Mexico's water is in the lower eighties so anything that heads into the waters there has the ability to develop. I'll keep an eye on it for you and update if development is expected or occuring. Have a good T.G.I.F. and weekend everyone!

The storm season of 2005 was very active. I love to track hurricanes....but like Dee says...don't wish the destruction they bring. Nice blog Dude.

It still looks slow as of the end of July. Let's hope this continues. Or if a big one forms keep it away from land. It's a wait and see right now.

Whats up my name is Tyler and I have been interested in the weather since I was about 8 years old. I met Rob Guarino and the entire 10PM newscasters on March 3, 2005. Rob is a great man and is very generous. I hope to become a meteorologist one day and broadcast from Philly.
