Ok, so recently legislators brought up a bill to make spanking illegal in some parts of the US, I think it was in Boston or something, well anyway, as parents who try to raise their children with morals and discipline, should spanking become illegal? Or should the government mind it's own business when it comes to parenting? When does discipline become abuse? As a teacher with the LAUSD I have worked with and taught many wonderful and talented young minds who come from families where discipline is important. I myself was spanked as a child and I believe it's an effective method for raising kids right! But let's get it clarified, my parents never abused me either. In my profession I have noticed so many rotten, spoiled, rude, ungrateful brats who usually come from homes where discipline of any sort is non-existant! I have even seen parents bribe their children with money, toys, and candy just to get the kids to do what the parents want!! I have personally seen these same children overpower their own parents and threaten to call the cops on them, some having done so succesfully!! Is this an outrage? Is this the reason why morality is almost non-existant in many parts of America today? Is this why we have young children who grow up with no respect for society? Is this why gang violence is so rampant?
What is your opinion? Any comment is open to interpretation, and trust me, I will not delete certain comments like so many others do on myfoxla.com.
I just couldn't believe my eyes earlier today when I opened up a popularly used webpage for many internet users. They actually had the odacity to post a poll where they ask if the fires in SoCal were caused by man or by God.
Guess what? close to 40% of those polled actually thought this was a disaster created by God?????????!!!!!!!!!!!
What do wildfires have to do with God?
Let's not blame those people who are foolish enough to live in or next to dry canyons, let's not blame people for not preparing themselves, let's not blame those arsenists.
I'm not religious or anything, but enough with blaming God for everyone's problems.
