Sue's Musings

I'm tired, and I miss my Percosets, but I sure am happy to be back on Good Day!

I've been "knee-high" in emails, and it has been wonderful.    Just knowing that  "a-knee-body" noticed I was gone means so much....I mean it!

Thanks so much to Dr. Craig Israelite, the surgeon who dug in and cleaned up my meniscus issues last Tuesday at Penn Presbyterian.    I was quite nervous about this procedure, since I hadn't had any surgery since my tonsilectomy at age five.   Every single person I encountered at the Short Procedure unit was so kind...thanks for getting me through in my hour of "kneed."

I've posted a few photos of my trip to the hospital.   Of course, I brought Bus Stop Buddy with me.....I couldn't dress him in scrubs, but my daughter did color him in nicely.

Still to come....a few "knee-slapping" television reviews, since I watched a ton of tube while I was laid up.

And for all of you who have asked about Dorothy.  I spoke to her today, and she's working hard to rehabilitate her poor back so that she can "stand tall" and be back with us very soon.

Hi Sue. I just joined the blog. I am glad you are back ! I did notice you and Dorothy missing in action. I work at a hotel and at 5am I put FOX 29 News at 5 on in the breakfast room so the guests can get the best in Traffic, Weather, and News coverage. I have had some pain in my right knee. I wonder if it is the same thing. Time for a visit to the doctors for me ! Glad you are back!@

Sue-

Clearly I should have been entertaining myself by reading your blog while I was recovering. It's "pun-derful", even by YOUR standards!

I have been the weather anchor on Good Day Philadelphia since December of 1997. It's been quite a ride, and I've been extremely fortunate. I've spent much of my time during the years taking weather on location. Those experiences have afforded me so many opportunities I never would have had otherwise. I've visited countless schools and been able to show our viewers some of the positive things going on in the classrooms in our area. We've been able to focus on the many teachers working very hard, and the students who will always remember when TV came to their school. I'm also proud of encouraging our viewers to be "tourists in their own hometown." We've taken you to special spots, like the Camden Children's Garden, the Constitution Center, and hundreds more. These are places I might have procrastinated about visiting on my own, but thanks to this job, I've been able to feel so much a part of this community as the folks out there have opened their arms. How lucky am I? My daughter has been a part of this program, periodically, from the time she was six months old. And even now, people who recognize me and Nia when we're out and about remember when I did the weather from our house on her first day of kindergarten. She is in fourth grade! So many of her childhood memories are preserved on Good Day, and I am grateful. Just in the last year, we've made astounding technological changes here at Fox 29, and it's exciting to work with the very latest in state-of-the-art technology. My latest thrill is this blog. I look forward to hearing from you!
