funny how Bush & McCain TRIED to warn everyone & TRIED to push legislation to ward off this disaster.

but, the ones that got us into this mess to begin with (the democrats) with all their whining about how people who shouldn't be buying houses DESERVED to do so are ducking for cover NOW.

had that whole "community reinvestment act" crapppola never existed, we wouldn't be here NOW.

the only people who would have mortgages are the ones that can PAY for them.

We can play the "blame game" till the end of time, but that will not solve the economic crisis.

you're preaching to the choir...we need to talk the 12 or so far right wing conservatives republicans who are blaming nancy p's speech as being the reason why they did not go along with their republiscam president and the rest of the voting body...including johnnie mcshame and jobama. politics came before country. shame shame shame

i did some math today and came up with my own trickle UP theory. give the money back to the people and good business shall follow...

my math:

$700 billion divided by 130 million taxpayers = $5384.61 for every taxpayer.

let's undo ronnie raygun's deregulated bank trickle down theory with stuman's regulated bank trickle up theory.

I heard that on the News about some people NOT voting for it because of her speech. How petty and "grade school" can they get! It's like Nero playing his fiddle while Rome burns....

Apparently the Republicans did not put country first, you know that old saying.. "stick and stones may hurt my bones but names will never do." They were not "big" enough and tuff enough to let what Nancy said roll off their backs and get the job done for the country. How small minded can those Republicans be. It is a shame that the stock market fell 774 points because of pettiness.

Nancy was talking about George W. Bush not the Republicans in the Congress, they too were not supporting George Bush themselves so why would they get their underwear twisted over her remarks. They were looking around for someone to blame and Nancy was it, at that moment. Now they are blaming Obama and the democrats.

The bottom line in my opinion is the whole Bill got sidetracked when John McCain did his grandstanding last week. He put the nail in the coffin, set the process back and it never recovered.
