Well, we know where the priorities of the Commonwealth lie.  For those of us who opposed bringing gambling to PA., this is just the beginning of the evidence about how much power the gaming industry has and will have over this state.  Everything else might rot, close and shut down, but the slots will stay open for sure.  Shame on the governor and the legislature for ever approving gambling in the state.  It will bring in tons of revenue, I'm sure, but the other things it brings with it to the state are far worse.  And you won't see your taxes go down.  They'll just find more pet projects to spend it on.  All this while our infrastructure continues  to deteriorate.  It already takes years to get a bridge replaced because this state never set money aside to improve and fix our infrastructure as it deteriorated.  Of course, the bridges and roads around the slot parlors that need fixing will be done immediately while the infrastructure in the rest of the state rots.

As a volunteer Firefighter in this Township, we were suppose to have a certain amount of monies dedicated to us from the slots, to date, we have yet to see a penny, our taxes were raised and the amount of emergency calls has risen due to the slots. Now they are going to build more along the river. You are correct, the roads around the slots are in fine shape, the rest are in very bad shape. As a citizen, a taxpayer and firefighter, the slots have not done anything for me except cost me more money and I have to report to the firehouse more often for calls.

A conservative eternal optimist. The sun is rising, not setting. But I am concerned about the condition of our nation and how indoctrinated we have become as a society with liberal ideologies that don't encourage or teach people to think for themselves and reach their own conclusions. And the lack of moral absolutes today in our society is more dangerous than anything else, including radical Islam. And I am sick of political correctness. It's going to kill us all. I strongly believe in prayer and in the mercy and goodness of God. But for the grace of God, the sun would have already set on this nation.
