I'm more of a cruiser bike fan. But I have to say, it's exciting to see Harley-Davidson bringing something rather sporty back into the market. Check out the new XR1200 Sportster below. I like the lines -- the way Harley kept the basic Sportster look -- and injected a new "sport bike" feel to this machine. And the reviews I've read are quite favorable to the XR.

The XR is meant to pay homage to the dirt track racers Harley is so well known for. I think the XR will definitely spark some curiosity in younger riders -- which is exactly what the Motor Company probably needs right about now.

What do you think?

I truly wish people would quit whining and complaining about the cold and snow of winter. Vince Condella hears it all the time. I'm not a meteorologist, but I feel like I hear it all the time too.

There's no secret I'm a fan of this season (and all of the seasons for that matter). I think I'm a fan of winter in part because there's no point in fighting it, so why not embrace it. This is Wisconsin. If you live here, you know what's going to happen.

But there's also so much to look forward to. I don't know who wants the snow to fall more -- me or my kids. We race to the sled hill after a good dumping of snow. Ice skating is lots of fun whether it's at Red Arrow Park in downtown Milwaukee or on one of Milwaukee County's great frozen ponds (hopefully they will freeze this winter).

Sure, the snow is a challenge to drive in -- and shoveling or blowing the snow can be a chore. But look at it this way. Nature's mixing it up for us. Just remember, before long that first warm spring day will change things up one more time. Instead of racing to the sled hill, we'll be putting on shorts and a t-shirt -- and soaking up some rays.

It's a great way to spend four minutes on a lazy weekend day. Check this out.

I'm sure you've heard this before. But sheesh -- when it's raining or snowing our there, TURN ON YOUR HEADLIGHTS!

Don't do it so you can see better (even though that's true). Do it so other people CAN SEE YOU better.

It takes so little effort. What's the big deal? You're not saving battery power by keeping your lights off.

It's been a while since our blog site was busy enough for the web team to say, "I can't keep up with them." So I went to our backend console to find out how many registered bloggers we have on our site. The answer: 7,651.

That's a big number. I know a lot of those people have come to visit and never come back. But there are a lot of you who come quite regularly if for no other reason than to read. That's okay with us.

But if we're going to make the blogs more interesting for everyone involved, let's get that conversation going. Fire it up! Post comments! Speak your piece! But keep in mind, we're a web site associated with a TV station -- so keep it within the blogging rules.

I'm going to be making a new push to get FOX 6 talent back on the blogs regularly. So hopefully you'll see some reaction to that in the coming days.

So, read, comment and read some more! We're thinking of new ideas to drive users to the blog site -- and some of those ideas might involve giveaways on specific nights. Not sure how it's going to play out -- but it might be worth popping back every now and then.

But you'll have to go online to see the MTV I grew up with -- and enjoyed as a teen.

MTVMusic.com just launched on the web -- and it's a great way to see some of the best, classic rock videos of all time -- especially the ones from the dawn of the music video age (the early 1980s).

I hope you get a chance to check it out. By the way, what's your favorite music video ever?

I'm leaning towards Peter Gabriel's "Sledgehammer" or Michael Jackson's "Thriller" (because of Halloween). But I'm sure I'm forgetting a few that would send be back in time.

I understand there are legitimate reasons for allowing people to vote prior to election day (through absentee balloting). After all, if you're genuinely going to be out of town, out of country or just can't get out of work, you still have your right to vote.

On the flip side, I wonder if this election (and future elections) is becoming an election out of convenience (i.e. I'll only vote if it fits my schedule).

Here's my argument. Voting is one of the things that sets this country apart from many others in the world. Anyone can enter the voting booth, cast a vote for whomever they choose, and be a part of the process. So why does it bother me that more people don't just make the time to vote ON election day?

You hear it all the time -- only 10% or 15% turnout on election days. Now, certainly this presidential election will draw out more people. But when I start hearing about 50% turnout, I still wonder where the other 50% are; what are they doing?

What do you think?

This is some of the craziest video I've ever seen out of college football. If you haven't seen it, take a moment -- and watch the move an SEC referee put on a South Carolina quarterback.

I guarantee, you'll be playing this over and over again.

Okay, so some of you have noticed the new look on the blogs page. And yes, it came without little notice from our friends at FOX. We knew it was coming -- just didn't really know exactly when.

This is part of what will be the first in several changes on MyFoxMilwaukee.com. The look in the coming weeks will change -- to look cleaner. We're also expecting it to be more functional for us and you too.

If you have any questions, post a comment to this blog and I'll check in every once in a while to see what's on your mind. As we know more, we'll pass the information on too.

Anybody out there concerned about all the hints this election could be wrought with fraud?

No matter what network you watch these days, you hear mentions about groups that are soliciting people to register to vote. I'm good with that as long as it's on the up and up.

But apparently in Indiana, someone registered with the name Jimmy Johns -- the address was the restaurant of the same name. Then there's Tony Romo and his teammates allegedly registering in Las Vegas. And there's more.

No matter who you back in this presidential election, I just hope the election is won legitimately. No funny stuff. No bad votes. No "fake" names. One person, one vote -- that's all.
