Night Fishing Suggestions

OK fellow bloggers, I am looking for a little assistance.  Anyone have any suggestions as to where to fish at night around St. Louis area?  What we would like to fish would be a lake or pond. 

Every place we know of wants you to leave at dark.  This is not a great thing because the catfish just start biting!  Anyone know of someplace we can sit out and enjoy the night?

There use to be a lake down highway 21, right before the Meramec river called Chip-A-Way lakes. We use to fish there all night. I think it was a carp lake though. I can't remember if they had catfish.

Isnt chip-a-way lake a pay lake? I've been there once didnt even get a bite. I cant believe theres no late night lake or ponds in the STL area?
