I have asked this before with no response so I figured I'd ask again.

Someone in St. Louis programmed the traffic lights downtown.  Someone has to be responsible for making sure they work correctly.  Does anyone know who this "someone" is?

Lets say a traffic light was out.....who gets that call?

I ask because the traffic light at Eads bridge has changed over the last month for the worst.  It is timed completely backwards.  What does this cause??  It causes traffic to back up 12 blocks down Washington.

It doesn't help much either that they screwed up the light at 6th street and Washington.  That light is constantly green in the direction with no traffic.

Of the 5 years I've been working downtown.......only once have I seen "cops" testing the lights to see where the jams were occurring.  After that the lights were great until they become "unsynced" AGAIN and the jams recreate themselves.

So please, anyone with a number to the person or group responsible for the downtown traffic lights....please post it.

I love all the traffic updates on this site.....but where are the "Bridge Closings".  There is information about every accident through out STL, but for the life of me I can't find any info about the Eads bridge being open or not.  Also, Friday there were many MLK ramps closed.....and there is no indication if these are open or not?

This is a very simple concept.  Just because you put your hazzard lights on does not mean that traffic laws suddenly are not applied to you.

I'm so tired of seeing people stop in the middle of the road, turn on their hazzard lights, and run into a building for a quick errand.

It seems that these people have pulled one over on the police too.  The police seem to be confused when confronted with this situation and just simply pass the car up.

So....next time your breaking a traffic law, flip on your hazzards and all will be good.  Why not, it seems to work downtown.

Anyone know the method used to control the traffic lights downtown? I'm curious because it seems that one you get in the pattern of how the lights are timed.......it all changes. Also, I am curious how the traffic light at the eads bridge is controlled. It use to blink and that worked out great. Now it seems that this traffic light is timed. All in all, right when it seems that St. Louis gets it right...they change the timings and usually that means cars sitting in the middle of intersections blocking the traffic going in the other direction. I can't count high enough to tell you how many times I've sat at a green light (for more than 1 rotation usually) because the traffic is all screwed up.

I won't even get started on the huge buses that try to drive downtown. You know the ones that sit in both lanes during rush hour because they are too big to stay in only one lane. They are also the ones that take up 3-4 lanes when they try to make a turn at an intersection.

Then you got the people that think that as long as they put their hazard lights on that means the NO PARKING signs don't apply to them.

Seems traffic is only getting worse downtown and I've never seen 1 person pulled over or getting a ticket (besides from the evil meter lady) downtown. I think most cops stay away from downtown during rush hour because of the crazy traffic.
