watching the news lately and seeing all the demonstrations against china, especially with the olympic torch bit.....i have to wonder. if these people are so truly interested in freeing tibet, why don't they go to CHINA and stage their demonstrations!! what, are they afraid to do so? or do they not really mean what they are saying??

Because they know how easy they have it here to the degree where they don't realize or appreciate how much freedom we do have in this nation. Like Sarkozy told the Chinese representatives who were offended by the French protests ... ' In democracies you have demonstrations'.
This is little different than before the 1968 Mexico City Olympics where there were protests and a massacre of over 400 people at the Plaza de Tres Cultures.

Ask the "disappearing" monks what happens when you protest the dictator ship in china, if you can ever find them...

For Power seeking authorities it is much easier to simply make people vanish than it is to deal with them legitimately...

This is a free country (Last time I checked anyway...), you could protest the protesters...

Protest the protesters protesters.... Protest the protesters protesting protesters... Protest the protesters protesting protesters protesters...

I just protest, anything and everything, even the act of protesting it's self...

I don't know Spacealien, maybe a communist prison doesn't sound like a fun place to spend the next 50 years. Ever think of that?
