here we go again!! now there is a bill before the almighty legislature to ban smoking in cars that have children in them!! don't get me wrong, i do not approve of that, but a law?? the best part is this quote i copied from the story...Sen. Scott McCoy, the bill's sponsor, says the legislation is not meant to impose more government control in people's lives. if that is truly the case senator.... then just what the hades is this bill meant to really do?????? GET OFF OUR BACKS, YOU POWER-MAD FREAK!! when are the people going to stand up to this kind of totalitarian authority?? when are people going to catch on to the phrase "for the children"?? we lose more and more freedom every year by power-mad people who use cute little phrases like these to IMPOSE their desire for absolute control over US!!

IT SUX!...Welcome to the Socialist mentality that is slowly chipping away at our rights one stupid law at a time.
And we could all rally together and storm the Capitol but they will still continue in their arrogance to pass bills that infringe on us. That's what's wrong with this damn state. The "Dogooders think thay have to police and control all that we do."

The children will be just fine! it's the moronic legeslature the up tight half witted soccer mom's and dad's that are the problem...Self serving arseholes if ya ask me

Land of the free, home of the brave.... BULLSHYTE! Europe has far more freedom then America. As a child I loved my country because our freedom was embedded day in and day out at home, church and school but as I have grown so has my awareness of the lies. America is by no means free and I no longer buy into the deceit. Lately I feel ashamed rather then proud to say my biological father died fighting for this country. This wretched land of oppression and lies. I want my father back America! And since you can't give him back because you killed him for a worthless cause I demand at the very least to smoke a gawddam cig whenever and wherever I please. And I will. F@ck the law.

Step-by-step...slowly we turn yet now the turning has reached spinning levels. The lawmakers are empowered by little victories people asked for in the past and then accepted. Seat belts, spanking, we're the government and we're here to help since you won't help yourself. Where it all stops is up to us, this is not the lawmakers fault, it is those charged with keeping government small, all of the citizens have a stake in the blame...yet we can take it back. Education and involvement are necessary today for tomorrow it may well be too late.

If it's okay to outlaw smoking in a CAR with a child inside, then it must be okay to outlaw smoking in a HOUSE if there's a child inside. Same logic applies. Once the car law is passed, their foot is in the door, the precedent is set, the damage is done. Kiss one more freedom goodbye.

Ha! That is the paradox of our society...

We are "theoretically" free only to conform to the norm...

Random Example of Limited Freedom...
You have the freedom to make your own decisions based upon your own powers of observation and education and choose to fly on a plane or to drive.

NASA conducted a survey on Airline Safety. Lets just say that they found some pretty shocking evidence concerning the safety of air travel.

Congress "Edited" the published findings of that survey, they didn't want to incite public panic... Congress thought for you, isn't that nice of them...

In a free country that Survey should have been published "as is" and the people should have been able to make that decision on their own if they felt it is safe to fly or not... We don't need a government that tells you what to think! On the Same token you don't need me to tell you to start thinking...

We are Free or we are not...

It looks like the Democrats are finally realizing their dream: a socialist utopia with the mantra "from each according to his ability, to each according to his need."

Dont bad mouth America!! It is our own stupid faults! WE THE PEOPLE have been far to complacent for too long! We need to start remembering all the campaign BS promises and start holding thier collective feet to the fire! Get off the computer and get onto the phones and start calling your representives. WE THE PEOPLE still have the power, all we need to do is get off our butt's and do something!! All that is needed for the bad guys to win is for the good guys to sit on their laurels and do nothing!

liberalism at its finest. You can thank rocky for getting the ball rolling with banning smoking outside in parks, downtown etc..

Finally people are starting to catch on! Too-shay spacealien. I agree and second the thought- when in the hell are people going to stand up against this authoritarian government and demand our right back. These evil, multi-trillion dollar corporations that cause the death, disease, addiction and overall suffering of the masses get away totally free from there genocide and humiliation of the public. And the only ones paying the price are the people of America- and the price we pay is the ransom of our freedoms of liberty. Its time to make a stand- this has gone far enough. I dont have the necessary time to devote but I will at least make some time to help make a change. I will not stand idoly by while these masked dictators shred our liberties and constition. I will post a blog with any fruitful progress.

uuuhhh chao... i wasn't talking about any corporations. as far as smoking is concerned, it's a consious decision on a person's part to light up. i was talking about the government, and only the government, and its desire for complete control of the people and the method by which they take that control.

Come on... That is in their legislative job description.

1- Sit around and think up useless laws to enforce upon thee mule's...

2- Attack pointless issues because real issues are too tough to really solve...

3- Smoke and Mirrors... look at this, while I hide that over there!

4- You still get paid more than any joe-mule even if you don't do anything so don't do anything and roll in the money!

I remember driving from my home town to SLC with my buddy and his parents. We were about 11 or 12. It was winter, the windows were rolled up, and they were suckin' down smoke after smoke. Uncomfortable? Yes. But funny as hell, in retrospect...other than only having one lung anyway....

Imagine worrying about the effects of ciggarette smoke while driving in a CAR...If you are worried about childrens health you should really not allow them to ride in cars. Do you know if you sit in a car full of ciggarette smoke for 20 minutes (or days) nothing will happen, but if you sit in a car full of car fumes for 20 minutes you will be DEAD!
