Do you remember when: "Just what I needed" was your favorite song by the Cars ?  Now it is synonomous with Circuit City. INXS  "What you need" = Chevy. I saw a cookie comercial  with Human Leagues "Don't you want me?". Does this make you remember your youth fondly, or does it cheapen your memories? Wish I could have remembered more songs that didn't have want or need in the title...but that would be a different blog.

Brings back memories of High School in the 80's at Oviedo High School. Those were the days when we thought we had the world figured out and not a care in the world.

I think it cheapens it a little, but I can't say I get too upset over it. Now, hearing a song you used to like playing in an elevator, THAT could be depressing.

"Now, hearing a song you used to like playing in an elevator, THAT could be depressing."

Geesh, I never thought of that. Now I'm depressed. LOL

I for one love the brief trips down memory lane. I'll start singing and it puts me in a better mood.

Led Zepplin for Cadilacs. And too many zapped brain cells to recall the rest, but I love hearing them. If my Dad was still around, he would be grumbling. I can still hear him yelling across the house: "Turn that hippie music down!!!" Thanks for the trip up memory lane.

sigps, I really don't pay attention to most commercials. I do listen to 96.5 FM at work and on the way home. I really miss ZETA 7, the old 107.7 FM.

Since you're taking a stroll down memory lane, anyone remember EDGEWATER & PARR the rock and roll bar during the 70's and early 80's? How about THE JOINT IN THE WOODS ? They were the two best rock and roll bars in the tri-county area!

I think it cheapens it too. I don't like the feeling of being reminded how old I really am when I'm still trying to recapture my youth. LOL!

LOL

I think it's funny that they are targeting my age group.

Well, Norty...you are the one with all the "disposable" income. Spend it at places that remind you of when you were young....the prom...the dress.....

I can think of one that reflects today's discription on my feeling towards the government..."Do you really want to hurt me"!

The Indian Chief still sheds the tears of more trash being placed on the people!

It seems memories are all we have anymore because the future is really beginning to look dimmer and dimmer! Save our children from this torment!

The old music being used in commercials doesn't bother me. I realize, music is business, and if you're too, old to cut the mustard, and can make a little money from the royalties, then take it. It's sweet money for those who can get it. Some people call them sell outs. I say they have good business sense.
LuckyD, ZETA 7, was this the radio station that went to Hawaii? It would have been the late 70's.
