If the government told you that you could be fined or put in jail for refusing to immunize your child, what would you do?

Here's an article from the Washington Post about what's happening in Prince George's County, Maryland...

Every morning, it's the same routine... I wake up between 4:00 a.m. and 4:30 a.m., drink a few cups o' java while watching COPS, and await the Fox 2 newscast at 5:00 a.m.

Every morning, it's the same story... "Another shooting last night in North St. Louis...", "A man was shot and killed in North St. Louis last night...", "Two North St. Louis shooting victims drove themselves to Barnes early this morning...".

I know that there are shootings in other parts of the city, and I know that crime happens all over the metro St. Louis area, but why does it seem to be so rampant in North St. Louis? It saddens me that an area, so rich with culture and history (http://www.umsl.edu/~baumannt/ONSTL.html) could end up like this. Is this what's in store for other areas of our great city? Or can things be turned around?

(Please be intelligent and appropriate with your comments, no need to get ugly here. Thank you.)

I was saddened this morning to hear about the death of an elderly mother of 11 in a fatal accident caused by a 27 year-old felon. My heart goes out to the family, from their description she seemed like a wonderful person and a beloved mother.

Later on in the newscast, it was said that "her death was caused by a police chase"... I couldn't believe my ears! The blame was being directed at the police and NOT the CRIMINAL!? I've actually been noticing this trend of misdirecting blame for a while, but today I cannot stand for it! The police are there to CHASE THE CRIMINALS!! There were shots fired, the police witnessed the vehicle speeding down the street at over 100 miles per hour, pursued the vehicle, and the vehicle crashed... So how is this the fault of the police? After the crash, they found a gun in the guy's car!! How many people might this guy have killed with that gun had the police just ignored him as he sped by? The victims of the resulting car accident were unfortunately at the wrong place at the wrong time, but the blame should not lie with the police, but with the CRIMINAL who carelessly, wrecklessly, and selfishly chose to commit a crime that resulted in death and injury!

There is a lot of "Sympathy for the Devil" going on these days. The news reports crimes that are being committed by people who have no regard for anyone else but themselves... But when those people get captured, taught a lesson with a few nightsticks, or even handcuffed just a little too hard, then the police become the "Bad Guys". Well my question is this... Where is the ACLU, NAACP, or any other organization when that criminal is robbing me at gunpoint, breaking into my home or crashing their stolen vehicle into my car??? Why is there such a move to protect the criminals that are out there to do harm to us!? These people need to learn that the law should be working against them, and not for them!!! THEY ARE CRIMINALS!!! They KILL, STEAL, and DESTROY the things that we work hard for!!! The police DID NOT CAUSE that accident this morning, it was blatantly the reckless abandon of a heartless FELON!

Just as I have the right to put pen to paper and express my personal beliefs about our not-so-illustrious govenment, I HAVE the right to blog my opinion... No matter what the medium, my right to freedom of speech is signed and sealed by our forefathers in the Constitution!

Amendment I - Bill of Rights - U.S. Constitution

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Everyone beware, KING GEORGE and his cronies are trying to remove these rights from us!!!

I'm sorry, did I miss something? Did someone put those boys in Devlin's apartment in order to set him up? So it's all a big conspiracy!? He's actually innocent!?

In cases such as this, the law should not allow the defendant to enter a plea of "Not Guilty". I know that the law is set up to protect the accused by providing "innocense until proven guilty in a court of law", but BLATANT guilt should not be denied!

I understand that Devlin is entitled, by law, to legal representation in court. But, as I have mentioned, such BLATANT guilt should forego the typical legal process. Cases like this are costly, both emotionally AND financially to the families of both the accused AND the victims,as well as the taxpayers. Not to mention the fact that the accused, although GUILTY AS HELL, may get off on a legal tecnicality!

Okay, I'm being unreasonable. I have no faith in our legal system. Sex offenders roam free, and are allowed second and third chances through our illustrious legal system... What happened to the good ol' days of forming a posse, forcing the sheriff to hand him over, and stringin' him up from a tree!?
