So, how many times do you think it takes locking your keys somewhere before you get it through your head to make a spare set? Well, for me 4. I locked myself out of my house 3 times this summer and I thought then, I wouldn't do it anymore. I should have known better. It happened again today.  Except this time, it wasnt my house I had locked my keys in, it was the truck.  I was leaving Wal-Mart today and it was raining and cold, as you all know, so i thought I would start the truck, then put the bags in. I managed to start the truck, but forgot that when you do, the doors automaticaly lock....and they did. My purse was in there and the truck was running and now the doors are locked. GREAT!!!!  "Joe is gonna kill me." I ran back into Wal-Mart and called Joe, preparing for a lecture. Needless to say, he said, "OMG Shannon, again?"  He was on his way to save my day.

Now I have 3 keys for everything, I just have to remember to not bring them in the house.

Till next time!  Ok, lets hope there isnt a next time.

And, If your with me, remind me to get my keys. Please!

Luvs Ya

Shan

We have a spare key hid on the vehicles.OOps we didn't have on the truck he just bought. He locked his keys in his truck at work in Pacific. He called and we tryed the cell phone thing with the automatic thingy. It didn't work.So I had to drive to Pacific so he could get his keys.He went to walmart ($1.00) had an extra key made to hide on the truck. Now this key will start the truck but it will shut off instantly as it don't have that chip in it or something but it does unlock the doors.Sometimes they work sometimes they don't.But hubby's did for the doors which is what he needed it for.

My son locked his keys in his car at work. Called me. I came out thinking I'll buy a battery for the automatic door lock gadget. It didn't work apparently when the batteries go dead they have to be reprogramed. So i get my trusty hanger. I spent 3 hours in the cold misty rain trying to get this boys car open. We finally had the police come out and unlock it. I have a key, but it only starts the car. Not unlocks it. This was about a month ago. He still has never gotten a new key. So don't be hollering Momma when he does it again.

I leave my keys in my cars all the time. Then to learn, if i slam the doors to hard, they lock themselves! Ive had to have my old man come home a few times to let me in! He finally started leaving the other sets at home and now if i do it at a store i leave my window cracked. I dont know what it is but i HATE carrying my keys in my purse! I think im always afraid im gonna come out and the alarm will be sounding 2hrs later LOL!

my toyota has them dern child locks that lock when ya start the car and if ya leave it running to go in somewhere, walla, locked, so ya have to remember to open the window which defeats the purpose of leaving the car run to stay heated... and i leave my keys in the cars usually, and i'm always afraid that those dern child locks are on... now my old escort, no power windows are door locks, thank God and never lock it cause dont have a key for the doors

LOL...Im glad to see Im not the only one. I dont know how I do it everytime, it just happens. I also had all 3 of the remotes to get in, so lucklyhe gave his mom a spare and he had to come from about 30 mins out to save me. I do it so much, I was about to cry...lol..silly I know, but geesh, his truck was running the whole time. Whats funny is, I never lock my doors on MY car, maybe I should lock his either.

Thanks for your stories ladies.
Hugs

Shannon here's a good one....my daughter is known for lockig her keys in the car all the time. Well, the other day she was running late for work and locked them in the car AGAIN! Drew and I were having dinner at the place where she works, and her she strolls in 15 minutes late. Lauren what happened? Well................I locked my eyes in the car, oh and I "Kicked the back window out to get in." WHAT! OMG perhaps she could have called? NO It was so much easier mom to just kick a hole in the window!

KIDS! LOL I'm just glad Katie and Nik might be able to help me out on this one! I'm still in shock!
Let's just say NO PEACE that night! Jana

I'm with Rosie, we just don't lock our house. I don't really own anything worth stealing.

I am totally paranoid about locking my keys in the car that I double-check every time before I lock it. My husband doesn't need any more fodder.

Shannon, I locked my keys in the car the night we were all at House of Rock! Lucky for me it's right down the street from my house so I could walk home & figure it out later (no spare key at the time)...fortunately I went out one more time just to see & my back door was unlocked (it sticks!)

Once, right before Easter I (thought) my keys were locked in my trunk, so we popped out the lock...the next day I found them in my apron pocket! For the next 6 we years drove around with a bungee cord holding the trunk closed! Real hoosier!

I used to keep the locksmiths in business until I figured out that if I hang them from my neck before I get out of the car they wont get locked in. I just bought a lanyard and popped it over my head...I have not locked my keys in the car one time since...even when I have 4 distracting teens with me!!!
