According to MSNBC, "The John McCain volunteer in Pittsburg who said she was robbed and sexually assaulted because of her political views" has admitted that she lied. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/27350530/

She even had a backward "B" scratched into her face, and said that a "black male attacker" had done it.

This type of incident is extremely dangerous given the present political and economic climate in our country.

Can we expect more of the same before the upcoming election or will this prove to be an isolated incident?

What would motivate a young woman to do such a thing?

Just as crazy and looney as that Pinko Lady trying to handcuff Rove. At least he was nice I would have pressed charges against her for battery.

It is halloween, give the girl a break.

If she did all of the damage to herself that was apparent in her picture, she must really be a "sick" kid.

There's a reason I don't have a sign up for either party. It isn't because I dislike Obama or McCain. It's because I will not associate myself with a majority of those who support either party. Both sides have a massive number of supporters who are hateful, liars and behave as if they have no morals what-so-ever.

So today's lying woman does not surprise me in the least. Neither will tomorrows.

Big deal a 10 year old lied , call me when you want to talk about the terrorist-liars that are Obama supporters!
Hey Jim you need to find something that is important to you and make your stand known...I am wearing a political pin on my chest every day and yes it is tough out there but is this how we want things to be ? People so racially divided that they do not dare even talk politics?

A great example of why politics should not be
allowed in schools. Kids and even older people
are sometimes unable to deal with opposing views.

It has been suggested that she has mental problems.
Well yes... a normal person wouldn't do that.

RNC08, actually she is 20 years old according to media reports. However, if the media is lying she is quite "developed" physically for a 10 year old.

Captain_Jim, as you probably realize I am very much opposed to support for the "party" above consideration for the our national interest. That's why I don't belong to either party.

I have probably voted for an equal number of Republicans and Democrats and even a few independents.

Unfortunately or fortunately, I cannot vote for McCain after him selecting Palin. I have seen the personification of her in too many real life bad "movies." And further more I could not support any candidate with such little regard for education and or knowledge.

RNC08, I don't need to "find" something important to me. I have my views and I know what is important to me. I feel no need to go out and let others know or try to sway their decisions. I want people to vote for what they believe in, not for what I believe in. Besides... I have yet to have my beliefs changed due to a sign in someone's yard, a fanatic calling me up and telling me their views, or because someone on line thinks I'm stupid if I don't vote for the person they believe in.

I'm old school. My opinion is given when the curtain closes behind me and I pull the lever. (Most here have never experienced this)

Let's keep the liying out of politics (sounds almost impossible) from all sides. We need the truth to correct our problems. Making up stories and lying hurts us all.

If lying by government officials, employees, and candidates was taboo and justification for disqualifying or removing a person from their job or office, just imagine how history might have been different.

myfreespeech, interesting name that you have......thanks for bringing it to my attention that MSNBC is a democrat network.....they should label it so that we are all warned ahead of time.... a big scarlet letter on the screen and in the TV Guide would help!! You should probably also warn former Congressman Joe Scarborough so that he can quit and dissociate himself from the network.

Apparently your idea of freedom of speech as a right, applies only to you as your name "myfreespeech" seems to indicate.

Why are some partisan Republicans so afraid of anything that anyone says other their "party talking points?" Even when it doesn't conflict with their talking points they don't like it......are multiple viewpoints/ideas just too difficult for them to deal with? Maybe they are easily confused?

Not so Shadow thats what FREE SPEECH is about everyone has a view and ut isn't always popular or acceptable to everyone but at least the effort to express viewpoints are one way to get comments shown ormviewd so everyone has a chance to express theirs also.
I think CNN has a bad rap against McCain but thats the power they have all I have is the blogging!!
Letters to the ediotor got tiring this gets responses!!
What is a partisan Republican by the way???
When are viewpoints supposed to be liked or disliked thats life noone is an island EXCEPT OBAMA!!!!
I dislike this person and am not afraid to say so!!!

A partisan refers to a person that will vote for a particular party regardless of who their candidate is. I describe it as placing concern for their party ahead of their concern for their country/nation.

BTW, as far as disliking a candidate....I view it as a campaign to become President of the United States......I am not voting for a person to become my friend.

I am always suspect of candidates and their supporters who spend more time focusing on the opposing candidate than they do on developing and presenting their own plans for what they intend to do if elected. They should be able to win on the merits of THEIR case.

Trust? Get real!! You know as well as I do that until a candidate takes office they have very little inside information and have very little idea about what they can and/or can't do. Even Reagan couldn't do everything that he had promised.

So the presentation of their plans during the campaign is more of a general presentation of their political philosophy and abilities to develop, organize, and implement a plan. Look at their abilities and successes in those areas without regard for where they were demonstrated.

Without regard for where they were demonstrated?
You mean if a candidate was involved in a contriversial incident it shouldn't matter??
Trust a man who doesn't answer the questions but talks around an answer.
A friend is never what I would cosider any politician they alll have dirty laundry but when one is caight with something not too favorable to them it might not get mentioned unless the media decides its newsworthy.
This country had a good era when Regan was i office he wasn't a tax crazed person and had a good relationship with just about everyone.
We need a man or woman in the highest office who has respect for the country and not someone who will abandon it for fear of offending another country and throwing in the towel to appease our enemies not right in any form!!!
Many lives were lost to defend this country and now we have someone who wants to make other countries feel like we are sorry for defending our beliefs by going to battle to keep freedom alive!!

myfreespeech, no, it might surprise you, but I wouldn't look very closely at McCain's involvement in the Keating "5" scandal. Nor would I consider his extra marital affair before his marriage failed, or his poor performances as a pilot before he was shot down, or his providing information beyond name, rank, and serial number to the enemy while a POW, or his student performance at the Naval Academy, or his continual support of George W. and his policies, or his father's influence as an Admiral during his military career.

No, I am more interested in McCain's detailed plans and policies for the future. How much knowledge and intelligence does or she have? How will he deal with the various problems and situations of all types. How will he make decisions and who are the people that he will consult and have as supporters? How will he instill confidence in his leadership? Will he do something other than alienate or bully people? Is he statesman like and articulate when appearing on the world stage and addressing everyone across the world?

No, you must start living in the present and preparing for the future. Living in the past is not enough. To know and properly consult history is important, but to live in the past and not acknowledge that today's world is much different would be a big mistake.

I suppose all the stuffObama has been involved in has little merit on his trustworthyness?
His College days can be compared to the items you mentioned about McCain to ignore the past is not a good ideea but to live with a utupian mindset is not so wise.
Just because your guy is your hero sdoesn't make him mine!
Todays worldis very fragile and now we are looking at a pa cifist to sit on the highest seat in the country!!
Obama has a socialist mentality and his PAST has plenty of dirty laundry but your guy seems to be able tobside step them because he is being treated as some kind of a saviour what garbage!!~

If you ever went to college and have aged since you would know that what kids do in college is very different than what they do as adults later in life. That is why most of the protests, etc develop and are held on college campuses. Perhaps you never explored, read, or were influenced by people when you were a young person. If not, or if you never made any mistakes and hopefully learned from them, you are very unusual.

I am not asking you to select Obama as your "hero" or as your "personal friend." I am not even asking you to vote for him. It is your prerogative and right as an American to vote for who you want as the President of the U.S.

All I am suggesting is that you stop the attack politics which have become so characteristic during the past few elections. Look at the facts and pick the person that you think would do the best job and allow others to do the same without you trying to blur the issues. If a candidate's positions aren't clear, demand more details and if he or she fails to provide them, then vote for the candidate that does. If your candidate is strong and clear on the issues, he or she will probably be selected for the Presidency. If not, then perhaps he or she is not the best candidate. Do what you want, and allow others to do the same without your personal attacks.

"Idealism?" Yes I believe that it is a good thing.....it is part of what was responsible for the development and continuation of our nation.
