During the course of this election, I have become decidedly cynical.  I watched both Conventions, but it wasn't until John McCain was speaking, that it dawned on me:

McCain/Palin is a mirror image of Obama/Biden.  Two underqualified candidates and two life-long members of the Old Guard. 

Both campaigns are making promises that will not be kept. 

Both have skeletons peeking out of the closet. 

Both are promising change that neither side can change. 

Both vehemently attack the other, then claim to be taking the moral high ground.

Both are so out of touch with my reality, it makes me ashamed to vote for either one.

There might be hope of change in Washington were it Obama/Palin on the same ticket.  But then the alternative would be McCain/Biden and that sends shivers up my spine just thinking about it.  At least the election would be more interesting...
