This was sent to my email, thanks to Marc.  It makes me want to give up filmmaking and get back into racing again!

Enjoy and be thankful it isn't your local freeway nightmare!

After months of pre-production "The Platinum Peacemaker" cast and crew is set to descend on Glen Rose, Texas to make an action-filled romp of a movie.  Principal photography is scheduled to begin on Friday, November 21st.  With a cast of 100 it is sure to be a chaotic (explosions and bullets) but fun shoot.

The short film (less than an hour) is a family, comedy-western set in 1877. With all the unfriendly movies 'out there' I set about to write and produce this  G-rated script, with the hopes of making  true family entertainment.  Interest from a local affiliate has already been expressed. The film will also be making the domestic and international film circuit.

For those of you who like westerns, movies or just good family entertainment, here is a sneak peek at the secure location.

Sari-sari stores continue to be common fixtures in every Filipino neighborhood – be it in impoverished or affluent communities.  But just like any manifestation of local cultural identity, "sari-sari stores" continue to evolve. Sari-sari stores are very small, privately owned stores that one may find anywhere in the Philippines.

From “sari-sari on-a-bike" in Makati City (an affluent burb of Manila) , to “hila hila stores" in Vitas, Tondo, (not so affluent - ghetto)  to a floating “sari-sari store" in the Artex Compound in Malabon, the localized version of the Philippine convenience store is certainly colorful.

The sari-sari store is an important economic and social location in a Filipino community. It is present in almost all neighborhoods, sometimes several on a street or in a cluster. The word sari-sari is Tagalog for "various kinds". Most sari-sari stores are privately owned shops and are operated inside the shopkeeper's house or as an addition to it.

Commodities are displayed in a large screen-covered or metal barred window in front of the shop. Candies, canned goods and cigarettes are often displayed while cooking oil, salt and sugar are often stored in sacks or cans. A small window is also present where the customer's requested commodity is given. A cigarette lighter tied to the window can also be found. Benches and sometimes tables are also provided in front of the sari-sari store. A shade is placed above it which is also used to cover the large window when the store closes.

The sari-sari store allows members of the community easy access to basic commodities at low costs. In the Philippines, following the concept of tingi (retail), a customer can buy 'units' of the product rather than whole package. For example, one can buy an egg for about 5 peso (0.10 cents US) or a stick of cigarette for 1 peso (0.02 cents US) rather than a whole pack. This is convenient for those who cannot afford to buy the whole package or do not need much of it. Whole packages are available for purchase also.

The sari-sari store also saves the customer transportation costs, especially those in rural areas, since some towns can be very far from the nearest market or grocery. The store also serves as a secondary or even primary source of income for shopkeepers. The owners can buy commodities in bulk in groceries then sell them in the store at a mark-up price.

Trucks, tricycles, motorcycles/w side car, and bicycles with side-car deliver LPG and soft drinks to the store itself. The store requires little investment since the products are cheap and only a few modifications on one side of a house are needed to convert it to a sari-sari store.

The sari-sari store offers a place where people can meet. The benches provided in front of the store are usually full of men and women. Some men would spend some time drinking while women discuss the latest local news. Youths also use the place to hang out. Children would also rest here in the afternoon after playing and buy soft drinks and snacks.

My vote is for Nat King Cole, hands down. The man was an amazing talent. I remember as a kid lying there on the carpet in the living room as my mother would try to cheer us up with his music.

Listen as Nat sings one of his favorite and most popular hits, Mona Lisa. His wonderful voice has a way of piercing your heart and filling it with a sense of hope.

5 meters distance This is the craziest thing I've seen in a long time. For those of you in the 21st century (e.g. blackberry owners), you'll need to look at this on a pc. You also have to get out of your seat and walk away from your computer. People may think you're crazy. But it's well worth it. When you look at this picture in a closer look you see its Albert Einstein. But if you stand15 feet away, It will become Marilyn Monroe.

The word is out that the male singer had been working as a male stripper for males in an Arizona club.

How will this affect his fans when he sings?

Will he be voted off for his apparent gay affiliations?

Should American Idol thoroughly screen all contestants in the final Hollywood 50?

Should A.I. just leave the things alone and let the controversies and scandals draw more viewers?

AFI Dallas International Film Festival kicked off the festivities last evening with a special 40th anniversary screening of George Romero's "Night of the Living Dead.  The cold and wind and rain might have slowed the US mail, but several stars were out in force, albeit bundled up like a 3 DVD box set.

Attendees included:

Malcolm McDowell - "A Clockwork Orange" and "Sixth Sense."

Sharon Ceccatti, Ken Foree, Clayton Hill, Scott Reiniger and Tom savini from "Dawn of the Dead."

Anthiony Dileo, Greg Nicotero and Joe Pilato from "day of the Dead."

Pedro Miguel Arce, Jennifer Baxter, Eugene Clark and Robery Joy from "Land of the Dead."

Michelle Morgan and Shawn Roberts from "Diary of the Dead."

Courtney Gains, Danielle Harris, Kristina Klebe and Dee Wallace Stone from Rob Zombie's "Halloween."

Harvey Stephens from "The Omen."

Kelli Maroney from "The Night of the Comet."

Kathleen Kinmont from "Renegade."

Lynn Lowry from "Shivers" and "The Crazies."

Eileen Dietz from "The Exorcist."

After the red carpet interviews and some celebatory fun in the lounge, all moved to the theater to watch the black and white film that many believe birthed indie films - "The Night of the Living Dead."

Day 4 of the shoot  "Blood On the Highway" begins in one hour. Yesterday was a 22 hour day of scenes.  The movie has been going well and we are on budget and schedule thus far.

I spent some time with Xander from "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and we shared a lot of laughs over the script. I uploaded a picture.

Today we are shooting some exteriors of the ranch house in Lancaster.  It looks to be another 16-20 hour day.

I will post some stills as soon as I am able. Additional photos and info as regards Extras is available on our MySpace page at Blood On The Highway.

As Jerry Springer says, "Y'all take care of yourselves...and one another."

...and I'm a Fox 4 blogaholic.

"Hi Scott!"

I first started blogging in April and quickly became addicted. At first it was just a blog here and there along with a few comments on others' blogs.

Then my affinity grew and I was constantly posting. And posting. And posting! And arguing my point and refuting that of others.

Along the way I made numerous friends and a few enemies, but we'd all share in a blog or three after work. But some of us were powerless to stop blogging.

I began to neglect my work and I'd even sneak a blog when my wife thought I was doing other things. I'd hide my laptop under the sink, in the closet and wherever I could access it for a quick blog.

But now by the grace of God I have realized I have a disease - blogaholism. Indeed, I have started a support group and encourage others to join me for meetings.

So please don't give up tonight when Fox shuts this blogging down. I am Scott M and there is hope.

Stop #2 for American Idol auditions began Saturday at 4am for crew as we awaited the throng that pressed against one another for a chance to clear their pipes. As of the end of the day Sunday we are anticipating a massive crowd bright and early Monday morning.

Contestants are scheduled to arrive between 5-6am. The forecast calls for hot temps and a fun-filled busy day. Can season 7's Idol come from Texas again, or will an "outsider" take the coveted crown months from now?

Stay tuned to Fox news for Idol updates and be sure to watch season 7 soon! Now its off to bed for me - I have a 4am call time.

She's at it again folks. Lindsay Lohan, despite being on probation for her previous DUI, was arrested again and booked into the LA County jail.  Ms Lohan was wearing a SCRAM (Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitor) which ironically failed to detect her inebriated state.

The SCRAM device which she voluntarily wore, is supposed to detect alcohol in ones system 24 hours a day, 7 days a week . http://www.alcoholmonitoring.com/  It failed but the law caught her.

Look at her mugshot as released from the LA County Sheriff's Department here. http://www.tmz.com/

Police advised her BAC (blood alcohol content) level was .012, over the California legal limit of .010.  The officials at SCRAM were unaware of her drinking and arrest. Too, she was scheduled to tape a show with Jay Leno today.

It would appear that if she is convicted that she will join the inmates as did her mentor and associate, Paris Hilton.  If she is convicted, she would certainly deserve it as DUI is a violent crime.

I should have known perilous times would befall my vacation when I started eating yellow watermelon a few weeks ago. Call it what you will, coincidence or fate, but I accept all responsibility for the incessant rains this month. Send your complaints to my email and the Secretary...er, the Lady In the Water will reply as I dictate.

Originally the spouse and I had plans for Cocoa Beach, Florida, and surroundings, that is until I found the kids were headed to Malta for a violin recital and dance competition.  I wish them well but dangit, they ruined my plan to catch the Firecracker 400 at Daytona on the cool.  "Oh, wow, honey - I didn't know NASCAR was in town this week!"  Ah, but they're good brats!

So seeing how the wife is a new LEGAL immigrant, I opted to show her the wide expanse that is the great state of Texas.  The first stop will be Austin where I will show her the Capitol Dome. You know what they say, "Keep Austin Weird."  Not much chance of that not happening what with the local politics, yeah?

The wife wants to see the Botanical Gardens in San Antonio (I've packed away a small sprayer of Ortho Weed Killer) but I want to ride the rising river at New Braunfels. She wants to see the Alamo, I want to see where the new battlefiled will be as regards sending illegals home. Wifey wants to visit Sea World and refuses to listen when I tell her we can save $200 and drive to the ocean. We're split like Britney and K-Fed.

I'm actually cool with whatever we do as long as a modicum of sun allows for it. To that end I have done my share to advance the notion of a sunny day, sniping 3 Indians rain dancing in Oklahoma and offering up countless prayers for the Lord to turn the heavenly sprinklers off.

We'll traverse the state and jumpstart the economy, reverse global cooling by heating things up with the conversion van, and wreak havoc on the fish population. The last thing to do is check the cooler...and I see that she's already packed some red watermelon. This may turn out to be great after all.

Ciao my friends!

Native Californian transplanted to Texas in 1989, and I love the Metroplex! I'm a veteran paratrooper/infantryman and very conservative minded. I have no qualms about confronting policies that are detrimental to the United States of America regardless of any political persuasion. I support a strong military, tough, no-nosense politics, truth, justice and yes, even apple pie. I am against the Oprah-ization of this country, liberal politics and seditionists at every level. I'm a firm believer in the idea that the coddling mentality has backfired and served to ruin the backbone of America. There's nothing a good ass-kicking or some firm policies won't fix. I love sports, most notably NASCAR, the NHL, the NFL and MLB. I am a season ticket holder for the Dallas Stars and out at Texas Motor Speedway. Win or lose, I stick to my teams: Dallas Stars, Dallas Cowboys, San Diego Chargers, Texas Rangers, Houston Astros, Cleveland Indians and the San Diego Padres.
