60th Wedding Anniversary

Today my wonderful husband and I celebrated our 60th Wedding Anniversary. We were blessed to have all of our kids, grandkids, and great grandkids at our celebration.

We had such a beautiful party, thanks to a sweet grand daughter.  Wish all of you could have been there too.

Wow, that's very impressive these days, you hardly ever hear about a man and a woman being married that long anymore. Congrats to the both of you!
I can't seem to make it past three or four years myself, BUT HEY, I TRY!

60 years! WOW that's fabulous, scottb. Happy anniversary. Did ya save us some of that good anniversary cake? :) Couples like you and your husband are an inspiration. Yalls family is very lucky to have such good role models to look up to.

OMG

The Cleveland Indians beat the Bosten Braves in the World Series.

Dallas' population was below 200,000

The Cowboys were not even a glint in Clint Murchison's eye

Scottbee -- I'd be willing to bet you would not change a one of those 60 years

I guess 60yrs is a long time.

When my grand-daughter was looking for something to decorate the table she said no one had anything for a 60th wedding because wasn't too many people stayed married or lived that long. lol

Lee we didn't even have a TV back in 1948.

We just had radio, but I think we finally got a very small black and white TV in about 1955.

Scottbee, CONGRADULATIONS!!!! My dear wife and I will be celebrating our 14th year together this October, and although we've had our up's and down's I wouldn't change a thing. Heck, she's the only woman I know of that could put up with me 24/7.

Well, I'm not great with the sentimental stuff...

I can only hope to lead a life with love... but with someone I love by my side for 60 years... wow. I can't imagine that.

Dallas I think all marriage's have their ups and downs. I've heard people say how perfect their marriage is and I just have to have my doubt's. We did some things when we were younger that would make your hair stand on end. ha ha

Bet your first four ex-husbands are jealous !LOL

Time sure gets away fast - it's sure good to have someone to share it with for so long !

furbie you are so right about time.
Yesterday we were telling all the kids about things in our life, good times and bad times, and I had to stop and think how fast time had slipped by us on so many things.

Congratulations! It isn'talways easy but it is worth it, we will have our 34th ths year and it's been a great ride.

Just a good natured little old grandmother. I've been married to the same sweet, wonderful man for 60yrs. We have three children. (2 sons and 1 daughter) From the 3 we were blessed with 5 grandkids. (2 boys and 3 girls) From the 5 grand kids we now have 8 great grandkids. (5 boys and 3 girls) So guess we have done our share for the worlds population. LOL I adore everyone of them. To me that's what makes my world go round.
