A shocking turn of events today as skeletal remains described as being
those of a small child were found very close to the Anthony family
home. A meter reader found the remains at about 9:30am this morning in
an area less than a half mile from the home. Early reports indicate the
worker picked up a bag found at the site and a skull fell out of the
bag. The FBI and Orange County authorities are on the scene and are
taking time processing the remains due to poor weather conditions.
Investigators say George and Cindy Anthony have been notified, and a
corrections officer told Tot Mom Casey Anthony at the Orange County
Jail. (From Matthew Zarrell, Nancy Grace Associate Producer)

A "nagging" wife who pushed her husband to buy a lottery ticket helped scoop the $4.2 million ($7.7 million New Zealand dollar) first prize — with only minutes to spare. The man from New Zealand's biggest city, Auckland, bought his ticket just two minutes before ticket sales closed Saturday night.
"My wife had been nagging me all week to get a ticket, so I when saw the Lotto sign ... I sprinted in to get the ticket before they closed," said the man, who asked not to be identified — normal practice among lottery winners in New Zealand .
"I must have been their last customer of the night," he said, adding that the young married couple had had a "rough" couple of years, reduced to one income after having children.
"I have never been so glad to listen to my wife's nagging," the man said Tuesday.
He discovered their newly won fortune Sunday thanks to his wife's request for a barbecued sausage.
Out shopping for bargains, the man said he didn't have enough money to buy his wife the sausage she'd asked him for. So he decided to check his Saturday lottery ticket in case he'd won a small prize.
"I could not believe it when they said I was actually the big winner," he said.
When he showed the printout to his wife, she initially thought they had won $4,200 (NZ$7,700).
"When she realized how much it really was, she fell to the floor, and then said: 'but all I wanted was a sausage.'"

Teen In Shackles Stumbles Into Calif. Gym
TRACY, Calif. (CBS) ? A bruised and "emaciated" 17-year-old boy wearing shackles showed up at a downtown Tracy, Calif. gym late Monday afternoon — claiming he had just fled his captors after being held hostage for about a year, authorities said.
Tracy police later surrounded a house on Tennis Lane and arrested a man and woman, who were suspected of abducting the teen and holding him against his will after he ran away from a Sacramento foster home in 2007.
Chuck Ellis, a manager of the In-Shape Sports Club in Tracy, said the boy came into the fitness center about 4 p.m. nearly naked — wearing only boxer briefs, covered with what appeared to be soot and with a chain locked around his ankle.
Ellis said the teen was scared someone was going to get him and asked to be hidden.
"He said, 'Don't let them get me, don't let them get me,"' Ellis said. "He was totally terrified."
Ellis said the teenager told him he was picked up after running away from the foster home to look for his family and held for almost a year. The gym manager said the teen looked like he was between 10 and 12 years old.
Tracy police spokesman Matt Robinson said the boy was confused when first approached by detectives, unsure where he had come from and exactly how long he had been held against his will.
"The wounds he had and his physical condition as well as having a chain around his leg corroborated his basic statement that he was being held against his will," Robinson said.
The couple arrested lived close to the fitness center. Two children inside the couple's house - where the teen was allegedly held - were also taken into protective custody, Robinson said.
The suspects were booked into the San Joaquin County Jail, but their names were not immediately released.
Police were still investigating the kidnapping allegations, trying to determine exactly how the boy may have ended up in the couple's custody.
Robinson said detectives planned to interview the boy, who was taken to Sutter Tracy Community Hospital for treatment.

An 8-year-old boy is charged with murder in the shooting of his father and another man in a rural community in eastern Arizona, authorities said Friday.
The boy was charged with two counts of premeditated murder in the death of his father, 29-year-old Vincent Romero, and 39-year-old Timothy Romans, St. Johns Police Chief Roy Melnick said.
Police arrived at the home within minutes of the shooting Wednesday, Melnick said. They found one victim just outside the front door and the other dead in an upstairs room.
The boy, who prosecutors say had never been in trouble before, initially denied involvement in the shooting but later confessed, Melnick said.
Police have not said what they think the boy's motive was.
Defense attorney Benjamin Brewer argued Friday that police overreached in questioning the boy without representation from a parent or attorney and did not advise him of his rights.
"They became very accusing early on in the interview," Brewer said. "Two officers with guns at their side, it's very scary for anybody, for sure an 8-year-old kid."
A judge determined at a hearing Friday that there was probable cause to believe the boy committed the killings. He is being held at the Apache County juvenile detention center.

ST. CHARLES COUNTY -- Jury selection began shortly after 10 a.m. today in the trial of a man accused of killing his wife with prescription painkiller patches.
Gregory S. Wadlow, 60, of Montgomery County, was indicted in October, more than three years after his wife, Kelly, died at age 40.
Deputies found Kelly Wadlow dead inside her mobile home near O'Fallon, Mo., on May 14, 2004. Authorities later determined she had died at least 36 hours before she was found, and she had three times the amount of fentanyl needed to kill a person in her system.

hmmm, i was pretty well betting that steve fossett faked his death... but it still is possible, wheres the plane, no wild animal could have eatten that..
Personal effects apparently belonging to Steve Fossett, the millionaire adventurer who vanished over a year ago, have been found in a mountainous area of eastern California. Police in Mammoth Lakes, a holiday resort 60 miles from the Nevada airfield where Fossett was last seen alive, confirmed that a ski-shop worker had found two identity cards bearing the aviator's name on Monday.
Further searches revealed 10 crumpled $100 bills and a black Nautica fleece covered in animal hair. The hiker, Preston Morrow, called police on Tuesday after taking a GPS reading of the site. "Fossett's name didn't pop in my head immediately," Mr Morrow said. "But I did wonder, 'Gee why are there some ID cards and money here when there is nothing else?' There was no wallet, no bag... nothing." Accident investigators are combing the area, reported to be near the top of a ridge in the eastern foothills of the Sierra Nevada. The area has steep, tree-lined hillsides and remote gullies.
Although no wreckage or remains have been found, police investigator Crystal Schafer said the ID cards were genuine. "We have some ID that has the name Steve Fossett," she said.
The location of Mr Morrow's discovery fits with the theory that Fossett, who was declared legally dead in February, crashed after getting into difficulty during a routine pleasure flight. The aviator, who set more than 100 records in five adventure sports and was best known for his collaborations with Sir Richard Branson, went missing on the morning of 3 September 2007 after setting off alone in a light aircraft from an exclusive private club.
Despite one of the biggest peace-time search operations in US history lasting several weeks, covering 20,000 square miles, no trace of Fossett has been found. The absence of a body led to speculation that he could have faked his death to avoid debt or the prospect of a messy divorce from his wife of 38 years, Peggy. He was believed to have lost large sums on the stock market, and investigators discovered he had two mistresses and hidden accounts.
Conspiracy theorists asked how one of the most experienced aviators in history could have hit trouble on a clear day. His aircraft, a Citabria Super Decathlon, was made from wood and fabric, making it easy to hide and undetectable to radar. They are unlikely to be completely silenced until Fossett's body or his aircraft turn up. Locals say that is unlikely. "He has probably been eaten," said Mr Morrow's lawyer David Baumwohl. "Bears and mountain lions will eat the body."
Experts who dispute the theory that Mr Fossett faked his death say the topography of Mammoth Lakes makes it possible for even an experienced pilot to fly into a narrow gully without time to reach the altitude to get out of it. Michael LoVallo, Mrs Fossett's lawyer, said: "We are aware of the reports and are trying to verify the information."
