Scientists bombed for working with flies
IF YOU were trying to persuade the public that animal testing should end, which species would you pick to make your point - the clever ape, the cuddly mink or the friendly dog? Animal rights extremists in California apparently chose none of these.
Last Saturday morning, a Molotov cocktail ignited the porch at the home of neuroscientist David Feldheim of the University of California, Santa Cruz, while his family slept inside. Nearby, another researcher's car was burned. Police suspect that the scientists, who study brain development, were the target of animal rights activists, although the animals the researchers use are limited to mice and fruit flies.
There is no way to justify actions like this. Not only are the familys in danger but also any animals in the home of the scientists. I suppose they are working for the enemy.
Harverd has banned men from the gym because 6 women do not want to exercise in front of men. This is of course sexist. No other group would be allowed this privilege. If whites (or blacks or any other race) wanted to exercise without the other races, that would never happen. The women should have been told no. Let them pay to join some all women's gym. No one can be denied the same privilege based on race, religion or gender. You cannot have it both ways.
Carl's Jr has a new add. In it, a woman who is suppose to be a teacher struts to a rap song grabbing her butte. I find the add offensive. They admit they are reaching out to young males only. If that is what they want to do they have every right. But ads are not regulated like tv shows. I do not want the ad shown where young kids might see it. Yes you can monitor tv. But you cannot stop the kids from seeing everything you don't want them to see. If I want to see this I would watch more cable. The ads that are shown now would not be shown if Carl Karcher was still running Carls. Just like the ads would not be the same if Dave Thomas was still running Wendys. Why is it these fast food places have trouble competing with McDonalds? It's certainly not the food. It's the abandonment of the family.
