My cousin just emailed me that the following companies have filed for bankruptcy. If you have gift cards to them use them ASAP!

Hollywood Video
Levitz
Sharper Image
Performance Team Freight
Linens n Things
Circuit City
Bed, Bath and Beyond

IMAO - About the only one I would ever buy anything from is Circuit City. I guess they were unable to compete with Best Buy when the market got rough. I think more and more brick and mortar stores will be closing because internet shopping is just so much easier, nicer and more enjoyable.

It does save on gas and milage on your vehicle and some of those stores, although had good sales from time to time, were pricey. I have also noticed that smaller business owners are also closing their doors, going out of business! The way things have been going, I may be doing the same! I don't have a building for my business but clients are cutting back on the luxury busniess needs, can't say I blame them at all!

Your post is partly true.
Check out the link on snopes.com for the full story. Btw, I always double check the validity of circulating email through snopes.com. It's debunked countless fwd emails.

The only two we have here are Bed, Bath and Beyond and Circuit City and this is what I think of them!

Circuit City - Lousy customer service, no wonder why they are going bankrupt! I have given them the benefit of the doubt and gone back, but always get bad service! Best Buy is much better and will match any price Circuit City has anyway! Good riddance!

Bed, Bath and Beyond - While I love the content of their stores, the scents in there make my sinuses go nuts, some scents even make it hard for me to breathe! Lose the scents and maybe I will shop there!

BB& B is NOT filing for bankruptcy.

Here's what snopes says:
"Some versions of this list include mention of Bed, Bath and Beyond (BBBY), a retail chain which is the main competitor of Linens 'n Things in the housewares and bedding business, but BBBY is not known to be in immediate financial distress or contemplating filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection at this time. In fact, in April 2008 rumors were floating that BBBY was considering purchasing 40 Canadian Linens 'n Things stores which the latter company was seeking to sell off to raise cash and avoid bankruptcy."

They were all always over rated and over priced, anyway! I'll bet their CEO's won't be filing bankruptcy anytime soon!

Just posted as a curtsy to those who do shop at those stores. My favorite store is Bass Pro. I don't see them going out of business any time soon. They have really fun toys and great customer service.

OMG my hubby had never been to the Bass Pro shop in Orlando and, of course, ya'll know how it says Outdoor World in big letters.

Well, we had just left Universal Studios and I wanted to stop at Bass Pro. My hubby was all confused because he thought we were going to another theme park, but as soon as he stepped inside he was in HEAVEN.

Now, we don't go to Orlando for Universal Studios, he'd rather go to Outdoor World!

The only thing that walk-in retail store can offer that you can't get on-line is service. Unfortunately, few stores employ staff that know their products or are interested in pleasing their customers.

Good, knowledgeable help costs money and it makes sense to offer commissions to sales people. You can't hire illegals for those jobs.
