McCain is seriously looking at Romney being his VP. His second choice is John Thune of South Dakota; just incase he can't stomach Romney. I like his second choice better then his first choice.

Music
Last night my daughter and a friend had gone to the store and needed a ride home. As I went to pick them up I listened to the radio. Apparently, Pearl Jam is now using their concerts to campaign for Obama. This just sickens me. I love music. I wish musicians would stay out of politics. Do they not realize that they loose fans that way?
After Dave Mustaine (yes, I'm old) decided to cover the DNC for MTV I've had a hard time enjoying Megadeth. They were always one of my favorite bands. On the other hand, when asked about politics Gene Simmons (no doubt in my mind a Democrat) told the reporter that Kiss is a rock band and refused to answer. I have a whole new respect for him. Yes, I know that most musicians are liberals. I really don't care. I don't need it confirmed. There are a few exceptions, but for the most part musicians know as much about politics as I do about football. I wish they'd just stick to what they are good at and what they know best.

Another study shows that I'm happy ; )Article
"There is plenty of data that shows that Right-wingers are happier, more
generous to charities, less likely to commit suicide - and even hug
their children more than those on the Left."

Some dim-whit in Utah actually locked herself inside her car and had to call police for help. She was apparently unable to figure out that if she just flipped the switch she could unlock the car door herself.
Proof positive that common sense is in fact truly dead.

My cousin just emailed me that the following companies have filed for bankruptcy. If you have gift cards to them use them ASAP!

Circuit City
Bed, Bath and Beyond
IMAO - About the only one I would ever buy anything from is Circuit City. I guess they were unable to compete with Best Buy when the market got rough. I think more and more brick and mortar stores will be closing because internet shopping is just so much easier, nicer and more enjoyable.

I had mentioned earlier that we were trying to grow our tomatoes this summer under some shade cloth. So far, it is working wonderfully. I had to transplant the peppers to a shadier spot. Most of them seem to be making it and now doing better due to the reduced scorching. The green beans are doing great. I've already gotten so many I had to freeze some. I bought two bulbs of organic garlic from Wal-mart (which has since taken down it's Spanish signage in the Customer Service department) and have started it in the garden. It seems to have taken well.
Anyone know anything about how to grow onions from seed?

Not sure if this belongs under Politics or Weather.
Czech President Klaus would like to debate the subject of global warming with Al Gore. Gore does not seem to wish to participate. President Klaus has written a book on the subject of climate alarmism entitled "Blue Planet in Green Shackles". President Klaus is an economist and his book shows the parallels between climate alarmists and Communists / Marxists / Proletariat. He uses his experiences from growing up in Soviet-dominated Czechoslovakia to help relay his point.

I can't wait to read his book. Amazon.com does not have it available as of yet.

If these men are so sick as to be tempted to rape or molest girls because of a white blouse, they need to be in jail. There is plenty of temptation in this world. A person is not justified in their actions due to being tempted. What a bunch of sick folks. So I just have to ask, are Muslim men lower in moral standards than rabid dogs?

I was just reading that the short list of McLiberal's VP prospects includes Lieberman and Jindal. I really like Bobby Jindal. I sure hope he gets the nomination. That would make me feel almost good about voting for McCrud.Source ArticleBobby Jindal on the issues

A local eatery in Marietta, GA has just made my list of places I'd like to go and eat on my next trip through the area. They are selling t-shirts with Curious George on them and Obama '08 written under the picture. Outside they have a sign which always reads "INS Agents Eat Free" and "I Wish Hillary had married O.J.". My only problem will be to stop laughing long enough so that my beer won't come out of my nose.

Just curious, but how many people out there are really having trouble affording health insurance?
We had to make that decision about a year and a half ago. We ended up going for a high deductible (catastrophe) insurance plan for the big stuff and a Health Savings Account for the little stuff. This has worked out really for us. Right now my husband's insurance is covered by his employer, but they wanted to charge us through the darn nose ($250.00 + per paycheck - every other week) to cover the two kids and myself. So I started looking into everything I could find. I now pay $177.41 per month for the insurance and another $80 goes into the HSA so that when I need it, it's there. I found a pretty good program through a bank that doesn't charge any fees for the HSA account and also gives me a small (very small) bit of interest on top of that.
Anyway, that is my personal healthcare solution. It seems to be working out very well for us. I even am able to deduct whatever I spend out of the HSA from my taxes at the end of the year.
