As I have read the numerous blogs on the few marines out of the 1000's accused with abuse to an animal...I have had to read blogs, in which only one did not villify and indict the the whole military, marines and "our troops".
Which is truly a sad and skewed logic....If I were to give creditability to any of those blogs that would mean every man that commits a crimes is a indictment of all men as would be for women...We have and will continue to have police officer that goes bad and becomes a criminal...a small percentage compared to those who are servicing their communities....Yes, we have had even an firefighter that went on a homocidal rampage this past summer...Surely, an intelligent person would not indict all firefighters based on that....
The thought process that "what or how are they being trained" apparently damn well since the majority of marines was not part of what happened...In a sane world with reasonable intelligent people....They would know that this is a human condition, not a military one or civilian one...BTW, civilians have far more crime rates than the military...
So who is responsible for that? There is laws in place? Doesn't seem to work all the time when dealing with criminals and criminal minds....
I know many of people who throws around "support our troops" blah, blah...But the majority never truly do nor do they respect our serviceman and woman...Or you wouldn't attempt to drag the military, commanders, marines into the actions of a 1-3 people.
Even though when the debacle of Walter Reed hospital made news it was only the obvious and usually people who wrote their Congress and pressured Bush to addressed the issue of our service men and women....And these supporters do not have yellow stickers on their car with "support our troops" emblem....Made in China on them....even sounds ridiculous....
And if one was truly concerned about animal cruelty, I would have thought there would have been mass protesting of the dog fighting that is so prevalent in the Southern states, or the dog races....
My pride in the troops and all four branches of the military never waivers...even under these types of unfortunate incidents....They actions of a few could never be an indictment of them all and the military is not mind readers, no more than anyone else can predict the actions of others...And they will be punished...Although parts of that video was doctored for shock values for those who need a reason to spew without facts......
So on a day like today....I thank all who not only "support our troops" but respect them for their service to this country, unselfish sacrifice, support to the spouses of our servicemen and women ...Those who continue to support our efforts to improve our VA hospitals, who have stay viligiant in their support of our efforts in securing this nation....Those who have read this incident and have indicted and villified only those responsible....
Respect is definitely more important that yellow ribbons make in China.....
As a proud military spouse of a marine whod respects the military as a whole no matter what branch of it.....To them I say, this too shall pass and it is certainly nothing we have not heard before....
But we know the good that they do and has done not only in Iraq, Kuwaitt and the Horn of Africa....efforts to secure us and defend us in the same breath....Unfortunately for a percentage of people who would not extend you the same or even for their country....
As others read these blogs and attempt to villify servicemen and women around the globe because some of our own have said it is the military and commanders fault as well...
But we are tougher than that in our own convictions and will not give in to rants and raves no matter how unfounded and unfair they are....
We are definitely stronger than that..............For that I do not offer you a catchy phrase, but my continual respect and pride....Atleast you showed up when needed while others live off of fear and ignorance.
A proud military wife of a marine
As I have been wondering just what is taling Fox8 so long in recovering from a hacker? Well, it brings to mind with all the scare tactics and fear speeches of terrorism and war on terrorism blah, blah...What will this means to everyday citizens in event of a full scale attack on our country, will our media, government, local representative be able to lead and assist us through that crisis...The answer is NO! We will pretty much be on our own, so just wondering what does anyone have in their survival packages at home?
It appears that "my fox" is having a technical difficulty at best or at worst something else has happened man made by some posters.
However since it has been a couple of days now, you would think "myfox" would have atleast post eda response to the current conditions...Even if it is just to say "working on It"/
Because this is how you lose good bloggers and creditability that fox8 really cares in providing a venue for people to discuss currents events etc.....
And all it would have taken was some consideration and courtesty.
Thumbs down Fox8 you didn't handle this well at all.
Iraqi prime minister says U.S. troops can go 'anytime they want'Story Highlights
1) Nuri al-Maliki: Iraqi forces are capable, nation has made progress
2) Top aide: U.S. violates human rights, treats his country like "experiment"
3) 2 U.S. soldiers killed Saturday in bombings in Baghdad area
4) Alleged high-level al Qaeda in Iraq cell leader nabbed at Baghdad airport
I find the following most interesting
quote:
"We say in full confidence that we are able, God willing, to take the responsibility completely in running the security file if the international forces withdraw at anytime they want," he said.

I would say that I am surprised...Our troops are doing more than just stabilizing violence in Iraq but they are updating and re-opening functions that Saddam left in disregards dating back to Iran/Iraq war...So that Iraq can be financially independent and self-suffiicient...
What a slap in the face to our troops...Although my husband is a marine, I also moderate on a AD military forum..And we have a couple of army units about to do their 4th tour, some national guardmen on their 5th...
We have solider dying, most leaiving young children behind, we are dealing with amputees and severely injured soldiers and families in crisis...As a spouse I dread the mention of Iraq..
I know I am the tree-hugging girly girl that so many of my military family reminds me of, but Maliki should know that our troops deserves to march out of Iraq with some level of completion and with dignity, honor and courage that they march into Iraq with...
I would like to say to Maliki, who are kidding when we do live the Sunnis which are in the majority in the ME are going to serve the Shiites up on toast...Your Saddam execution debacle on proves how less of control you have and you have not been able to stop the Shiites insurgents, in which the Shiites are the best winners in this situation.
And on a personal note, Maliki...You wasn't chest thumping when Saddam and his minority Sunnis was over their kicking the shiite out of ya...
I find you statements Maliki very disrespectful to our troops and to the 1000s of Shiites living in tent cities because the Shiites insurgents have run them out of their homes, because they want a peaceful resolution and do not wish to have their country associated with terrorists or insurgents..
Shame on you Malikia, but know this when we do leave and it may be sooner than you think...No one is ever going back to save you again!
Not USA, UK or UN and eventually a Sunni with a grudge will be back at the helm, such a vicious cycle for something that can be settle now, while you have the help...
I do not believe in the death penalty but I find her to be more guilty than that of her boyfriend killer..If not for her, her husband would still be alive...The attorney argued that she should have received the same sentenced as her boyfriend...I say not she was the mastermind behind it all..
I find it difficult to believe the police have not arrested this woman and her friends. I am positive that if it was a male who bite off half of his girlfriends lip, attacked her and had his friends attack her. The police would not be sitting around pondering the possibility if an arrest is warranted.
The domestic violence laws (to say the least) were meant for everyone male or female to keep their hands to themselves........This woman's attack however is more on the lines of a felony...................She shouldn't get a pass because she is female.....
The police department in this case should be reprimanded or perhaps the city prosecutors needs to make the call....
