I find it interesting that so many people weigh in on issues that they have no idea of what they are talking about.  We hear people on the left and right making statements without having any idea at all of what the facts are.

You hear religious people talk about the 10 Commandments, yet they could not repeat them by heart, and in order -

People talk about the middle east, and our fight in Iraq, but could not draw a rough map of where these countries are or a basic history of any of these states -

People talk about Islam without knowing what is actually in the Quran - do you have a Quran, and Torah in your home along with the Bible to know the truth, or do you watch biased people talk about it and think you know?

Do you know the history of Israel or any country in the Middle East - Iran - Iraq - Syria - Lebanon etc. or is your view based on what you are told?

You have those who talk about the constitution have no idea what it says.  They can tell you what the Second Admendment is if they are fighting gun laws, but can't tell you where it is from - (constitution body or bill of rights) -

Most of the people that talk about big government do not know what the government actually is - they could not tell you the succession in order if something happens to the President - then the Vice President - could not tell you what happens after that - how the branches of government work or it's responsibilities -

For those who are Liberals and repeat everything that you hear someone who is an activist say with your views - ask yourself can you honestly do these above things - if not then you must question the validity of your views.

For those who are Conservative and repeat everything they hear on talk radio, and FOX news - ask yourself if you can speak honestly about the above situations without looking up the information - if not then you have to question the validity of your views.

Only you can honestly say if you know these things and just saying you do or looking it up just proves to yourself how much of a fraud you are. You will have to live with the fact that your cause is suspect due to your lack of knowledge -

I teach my son these things at his young age of 6, because I do not want him to grow up to be a idiolog, whose views are created by the statements of others no matter if they are true or not......

I will not tell you you are wrong, it is time for you to prove to yourself  you know what you are talking about, and if you do not, then learn.  Anyone that can go on the computer and post comments, can also find all this information. I learned it early on in school, and in my Encyclopedia Brittanica set as a young man.  There are no excuses now.

The thing is, no one has complete knowledge on all the subjects we debate in this forum. That is the beauty of this site, we can ALL learn from these debates. No one is the ultimate expert, but, I don't think that anyone who blogs here regularly is stupid, either. Most of the bloggers here are actually pretty civilized. That is not the case of all myfox sites.

While I respect your opinion, and enjoy exchanging ideas with you, I think your first paragraph is a bit over the top.

I am not trying to say that I know more or that others should know more. I am trying to put in perspective that people use others to mold their views, instead of getting the facts right. I love reading the blogs from people on here, and find you, and some others highly intelligent, and honest in your views. I wanted to catch the attention of the reader in the first part to get the fire going, and their attention. I had views on health care programs from my experience with friends, and family members who live in Canada, and Germany. I talked to a friend who happened to be conservative, but open minded also, (not that conservatives are closed minded). He and I had a discussion concerning this issue, which he had some really good insights on. I changed some of my views based on this discussion, and he also changed some of his views, based on some things I said. (so I guess we would be called flip floppers - LOL) I think that we have "one" of the solutions to this problem in America, just imagine if both sides got together, and honestly did the same thing. My mom is a big Dallas Cowboys fan, althought she was born in Philadelphia. She has a party every year when the Eagles play the Cowboys. I even was able to get a hat, calendar, and ball signed by Emmit Smith and Troy Aikman, from a friend who worked for the team in Dallas a Christmas present. I know some people that don't talk to each other when they have opposite sports teams, or even turn to violence. I love my mother none the less. This is how we should be in politics. I know if people like you and I got togethe

************GO HILLARY CLINTON**************

LOOKS LIKE BARACK OBAMA AND HIS RACIST COMMENTS AND HIS FOLLOWERS ARE NOT GOING TO BE ENOUGH TO SAVE HIM. HE JUST NEEDS TO THROW IN THE TOWEL NOW. HE DOES NOT HAVE THE EXPERIENCE TO LEAD THIS COUNTRY OR EVEN THE BRAINS. NOW, I AM JUST WAITING FOR HIM AND HIS FOLLOWERS TO CRY "DISCRIMINATION" AND DEMAND A RE-ELECTION OR RECOUNT. HILLARY IS COMING BACK AND IS GOING TO WIN THIS ELECTION!!!!!!!!!

You make sense to me, pride! Certainly, we could always use more intelligent people like you, who use this forum to learn, to exchange ideas and perspectives, and less people who just want to use it as a pulpit. One things for sure, I have learned a lot since I signed up.

BTW, I'm a huge sports fan. I love your mothers idea, I can see where it would help to keep things in perspective. We once had a family Thanksgiving ruined by an Eagles Cowboys argument.

What you've said has been said well before your time and will be repeated well after your gone- As for religion, I know enough about my own, being catholic- Not sure about the rest of them, but I do know that they do not promote killing other people in the name of whatever!

And if you don't like what someone has to say, why let it get under your skin? Last time I looked, I was still living in the United States of America and anyone can say anything they want- Whether it made sense or not- It is what it is- Blame education or lack there of...................

I am not against anything that people are saying. Please read again, and understand with an open mind that what I am talking about is people seeking the truth, and not following what someone is telling you the truth is. I am sure that you, as a Catholic, have had issues with those that speak of your religion, based on what someone told them and not the truth as you know it. I went to a Catholic Church which was directly across the from where I once lived. I went to a Catholic school also at that time. I also went to a Luthern church, a Baptist church, and a Prostestant church. It just amazes me when people speak about issues of which they have no direct true knowledge about. This breeds conflict based on nothing true. The media will interview someone, and repeat the phrase, "your critics say" regularly. Who are the ctitics they are refering to. Have they ever actually spoken to these critics, and if they do not present who these people are, then maybe the question is actually that reporters belief manifested in the question. I always hear about the scientific polling that is always quoted in the media. How many people ask themselves, do they know anyone personally that has been polled, or have they themselves been polled? We believe without even knowing the facts. I am just asking people to look for the facts. Not believe what I believe, because I find that boring for everyone to agree on everything. I just would like when someone speaks about the middle east to even know where it is. Or about what "will" happen in Iraq to understand it's actually history, an

Are you crazy Taz??? You want the Clintons back in the Whitehouse? Fox has made their message loud and clear. They are trying to destroy Obama. I have gotten so sick of Sean H., that I no longer watch Fox at night. Their stories are twisted and sound racist. I am not a democrat and I am getting sick of it. The only fair reporting, if you call it fair, is Greta. Gov. Rendell who supported Clinton gave a speach concerning Farracon, praising him, yet Fox failed to report it for what it was. Clinton was a lawyer for the Black Panthers, but that is okay also, Clinton (Bill) pardon those convicted with the Ayers bombing, but according to Fox, that is okay also. I see a one sided view from Fox.

I watched Rev. Wright on PBS lastnight. I loved him before and I love him even more. Fox News, I hope you watched him on Bill Moyer. Maybe you can get some tips on REAL JOURNALISM because you are certanily lacking in that field. How dare you condemn that man as a radical and a racist. Shame on you Fox and all those other so called journalists from different news stations. Why is it when a black man speaks of changes that need to be in this country and point out its faults, he's a radical but if a white man speaks those same words, your attitude is, "Um he might have something there." The media is nothing but an evil propoganda source. You brain wash those who can't think for themselves and you humiliate those who see right through you. I've been seeing through you and the media for years.......Now, if you have any sense of remorse for what you've put Rev. Wight and Sen. Obama through, you'd make a public apology. But I know that won't happen. Then you would be admitting your guilt. No need to, we all know the news media is guilty. Hooray!! for Bill Moyer for letting the truth be heard.

LAST NIGHT, REV WRIGHT WAS ONLY ON TV AS A PUBLICITY STUNT. HE DOES NOT GIVE A SH#T ABOUT AMERICA OR BARACK OBAMA. HE IS TURNING INTO ONE OF THOSE OTHER LOUD MOUTH, RACIST TROUBLEMAKERS, AL SHAPRTON AND JESSIE JACKSON. BY THE WAY, I SAW OUR HOMEY, AL SHARPTON, ON TV THIS MORNING RALLYING TO FREE A BLACK MAN WHO HAS TO FACE CRIMINAL PUNISHMENT FOR HIS CRIMES. THOSE M#TH#RF#CK@RS ARE JUST A BUNCH OF RACISTS WHO ENCOURAGE THE BLACKS TO COMMIT CRIMES AND THEN FIGHTS THE LAW WHEN THEY ARE CAUGHT!!

You know Taz I respect you, but you sound very angry, maybe even "bitter", (that was a joke get it). Seriously, I respect you opinion, but there is something that you can't understand, and I can't explain because you have never felt what I feel, and I have never felt what you felt. I was golfing with friends near Allentown today, and the tension is much worse in the air from whites than "we" usually get. We always have some that do not speak or give you bad looks, even my friend from England who is white saw it. I explained to him that this was what Obama, and Rendell were talking about. There are whites that have a problem with blacks in western, middle, northeastern, PA. Rendell had the guts to say so. None of my black friends feel Al Sharpton Speaks for them, as you seem to think. Just like whites we have a variety of views. Most blacks are far conservative than you know, but they were not welcome in white conservativism due to it's racist background. The fact you call Sharpton someone's homie explains why you really do not understand who black people are or what they think. I will blog about this and try to explain. Have an open ear, and comment, I value your opinion. Just try not to be so angry, ok, it's not good for you. My friend died from a heart attack, and I would never want to loose another American, even if I do not agree with your views.

Right on mommareenie and Pride. Taz you are sick and a big part of what is wrong with this country. Sean Hannity also has a real problem. MSMBC and CNN are more fair and balanced than Fox. Fox on channel 40 has become no better than the smutt papers you find at the check out counter. Now they are putting down Bill Moyer, atleast he ran the complete sermons and now people have the full truth of what Wright was saying, but you won't see FOX showing any of it. Tonight Obama will be interviewed on FOX, that I will watch, but FOX has lost me as a viewer. I will only watch the 5am to 9am show on channel 9. More hate and Obama bashing will be on FOX tonight on Hannity's America, but they can count me out as a viewer.

You know Tweet and Pride101, no matter how much we try to open up some people minds and hearts, it's just a no win situation. People like taz2008 will always have a closed mind and heart. People like taz2008 are the very ones Sen. Obama was describing. They are verrrrrrryyyyy bitter and instead of being bitter or upset over the real issues at hand, they concentrate on hate and discrimination. They make that their whole focal point of life. Rev. Wright had a right to go on tv and explain the negative press that he and Sen. Obama are receiving. If anyone with any common sense saw that interview with Bill Moyer and saw the clips of Rev. Wrights sermon and still think he is a radical or militant or devil, those people need help and I mean mental help. If anyone with common sense saw that 2 min. negative clipping that Fox showed 24 hrs a day and didn't want to investigate and go to youtube to see the whole sermon, and took those 2 mins. as legit footage, they need a lobotomy. I tell you another thing, I would never want to be taz2008 neighbor. I'd be afraid to sleep at night for fear of having my home fire bombed or a burned cross on my lawn. Taz2008 and the many who think like you, I bet you call yourself a Christians. Please for your sake and ours ,ask God to open up your heart. Ask him to remove that bitterness you carry around with you everyday. Ask him to let you have love for your fellow man be it white, black, brown, red and yellow. Ask him to let you one day see this great country as one race, THE HUMAN RACE. Miracles do happen.

Mommareenie, I was raised by parents who were white very low income and hard working people. You never heard a remark out of them concerning people of color. I was raised in a mixed neighborhood of all races and colors. I never saw the different in color, just people. My 4 sons have been raised the same.

you know Tweet and Mom I agree with many things both of you say but I also think that Taz has legitimate views - they may be based on some ignorance about the facts - rumour - hate - or exploitation by many people who hate - what he needs to have is a friendship with someone of another culture - black, hispanic or whatever - this is the only way he will know the truth about what that person thinks - the reason why so many whites are ok voting for Obama is familiarity - if you watch commercials (only in the last 6 - 8 years), there are scenes of blacks as family members, persons of authority, as professionals Doctors etc., they are wearing short "dread locks" or a natural hair style in a business environment - many of most people's heros - singers - sports stars - actors are black now - so it is no coincidence that younger people are ok with Obama - those older have older views - just like the experience of Rev Wright which causes his anger - some whites are angry (can I say bitter) because "they" are gaining power, and many whites worry about this for no legitimate reason - just like the fear mongering about what will happen if South Africa would "allow" blacks to vote and gain power - the mass retribution attacks by blacks did not happen - only forgiveness and unity with the leadership of Nelsen Mandella who did not show bitterness for his 27 years in jail

Pride101 and Tweet Bless you both. Tweet, that's what I'm talking about. Your family raised you to know people are just people no matter what color or religion. You and your family and many people like are open minded intelligent human beings. But there are those closed minded people and they are people of any color who harvest bigotry. Pride101, I don't know if have or not but you should seriously consider writing a book on political science or sociology. Your thoughts are very clear and deep. I truly enjoy communicating with you both.

I am a amatuer writer, but this is a passion of mine to unite people. I have many friends of all persuasions. I understand that some people are just angry and hateful, and some have honest issues. Even if I do not agree, they actually believe these things. The problem I have with the people that say to blacks, get over it is that many times they do not understand what they go through each day. The fact that Martin Luther King Jr has been dead since 1968, makes some think the civil rights movement is over. I think about my father who was treated so horribly in Mississippi, and not having the opportunity of the whites in his area. I am his son so the son's and daughters of those who were spitting on blacks at lunch counters, or lynching blacks, (remember the pictures of men women and children pointing to the lynched black man), or beating blacks with police batons. They are all still alive. They are our co-workers, bosses, polititians, policemen, firemen, doctors, nurses, lawyers, teachers etc. They did not all of a sudden disappear. Is there any wonder that there is bias in hiring, promotions, or education opportunities? I wish it was not, and we could all just be on the same level, but it is not so. I don't want an advantage just an opportunity. When people use the arguement that affirmative action is reverse descimination, I say it is the prevention of descrimination. Most blacks are not affected by AA anyway. They do not look for affirmative action to help them, they are just looking to work.
