raised crosswalks are appearing in parts of orlando. what micro-cephalic misanthrope came up with this idea. it looks like a cheapo way to combine speedbumps with a regular crossing area. sure it may slow down traffic at intersections, but the raised hump is narrow enough to make it extremely hard for the wheelchair bound to balance on top for the length of the crossing. is this the intelligent thinking we can expect in the future from our D.O.T. (department of turkeys)?

another speeding motorcycle has a fatal result. this morning a (biker) crashed into a car at pinehills& clarcona and died. yes he was wearing a helmet (it doesn't help when you go headfirst into a car) WHY has no one checked DMV on these crashes and fatalities, to see what their driving records were? A lot of the new sportbike crowd is made up of people who have switched to bikes because of the no insurance clause. they received too many tickets for speeding in the pocket rocket cars, and can no longer afford the insurance rates. Soo they just switched to bikes which require no insurance and speed to their hearts content. sometimes in the process decorating the landscape with their bodies. I wish the state WOULD make bike insurance mandatory! yes I ride, and yes I AM insured! MOST responsible riders ARE insured! this would cut down on both the speeding AND fatalities!

tell me when a lighted sign that states no turn on red, and a red light, mean it's OK for you to turn anyway? the sign doesn't say only certain people have to obey it, it means everyone!! including you! also what is the big hurry at 3:30am I was waiting at the light on bumby at robinson, heading north, a car pulls up next to me, looks both ways and then goes right ahead and crosses robinson, WHILE THE LIGHT IS STILL RED! what is soo important that you can't wait the minute for the light to change. is your time that much more valuable than everyone else? or is it because you are a pigheaded, inconsiderate, idiot who doesn't care if you cause an accident? I hope you get broadsided by a semi the next time you pull that boneheaded stunt, it would serve you right!!!

the lynx service has now started a route from clermont to downtown Orlando, supposedly to alleviate the traffic that comes out of lake county. they obviously haven't learned from experience. for several years they have had an express route from volusia county to downtown with little reduction in I-4 traffic. I was under the impression that lynx was originally called the tri county transit authority. WHEN did we consent to add two extra counties to the list? when service needs desperately to be improved in the original three counties. citizens WE are being had! LYNX STYNX!!!!

Everyone knows that the expressway authority ( a pack of thieves) is renovating and widening the 408 from the T Bowl (toilet bowl) to goldenrod. and have you noticed the nice NEW sculptured walls they are putting on the sides? HOW LONG do you think it will be before the I-4 taggers (graffiti artists) turn their attention to this brand new unmarked canvas? ANYONE care to guess WHO will get stuck paying for the cleanup bill, YES that's right expect another toll increase when (not if) this happens. after all you don't think the authority will dig into their own OVERSTUFFED pockets to pay for a cleanup, when there are sooo many taxpayers they can fleece to get r done!

The nerve of the expressway overlords, stating there hasn't been a toll increase in 15 years, NO WAIT, they mean only for the affluent people who use E-Pass or Sun-Pass! the average person throwing his or her money away into their bottomless coffers received a toll hike of 25cents at every toll booth, BUT THAT DOESN'T COUNT, RIGHT? and you people with the e-passes & sun-passes, remember not too long ago it was found out that some of you were being double-billed when you went through the speed lanes! when queastioned the overlords of the expressway (said) oops a glitch in our system caused it! RIGHT!!! we're supposed to believe this load of road-apples! SUUURE WE ARE!! Call for a major investigation by the state dept of transportation into their deceitful dealings. turn over some rocks and watch what slithers away! you want increased toll revenue? the heavier a vehicle, the more damage it causes to the road. Make the tolls based on vehicle weight, not axles! set up weight classes for various types of vehicles, and charge accordingly.
