The jet pack in this video uses hydrogen peroxide for fuel and is intended for the military, says the spokesman. So to all the tree huggers out there, how about it? Would you get one? Then you could relax.

Meanwhile we could get on with drilling in peace and really become energy independence. There's so much oil in this country, people may not want a jet pack.

All he did was ask a question within earshot of a microphone. Now, Joe the Plumber is the subject of an ruthless invasion of privacy for his "outspokeness." Is this what dissenters have to look forward to in an Obama nation?

Police in Ohio confirmed that a Toledo police department records clerk is accused of using the police department data system to perform an illegal search on Joe Wurzelbacher's background. The clerk was part of the Toledo police Investigative Services Bureau. She claims she was doing a favor for a reporter. She has been charged with Gross Misconduct. Searching his records was a violation of State law not just department policy.

Immediately following the last debate, Obama donor and director of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, Helen Jones-Kelly, ordered a check on Wurzelbacher's background claiming, “Our practice is when someone is thrust quickly into the public spotlight, we often take a look.”

Well Joe is mad and I don't blame him. However, the intimidation affects the rest of us regular Joes as much as it does him. Now that his job is toast, I hope he can make up for it in a lawsuit and send a message back for us. Do you think people would be less willing now to get involved in politics after hearing how he is being treated? Wouldn't this affect citizens who are conservative more than those who are liberal?

I really like the new look for the blog section. The background is brighter and makes reading the posts more pleasant.

I hope the web team is keeping the general red white and blue theme. Although, the splashes of color for buttons keep it interesting. I'm looking forward to the new design for the top banner. I hope it's just as fresh looking but more compact, the top menus take up too much room.

Ever consider slicing up your ad space and offering smaller ads to a larger variety of  vendors and local advertisers? Museum events, restaurant deals, seasonal events..just a thought!

There was a blogger with the screen name of something like "kid_with_thoughts." Whatever happened to his blog? Have you heard from him lately? I enjoyed his blog and was going to  link to it but I was not able to find it again?

Do you remember any of his comments on your own blog posts? Sensible chap, good mind,  writes well, but I can't find a thing by him anywhere.

Bush and McCain both spoke up for domestic drilling this week pleasing the crowd, I dare say. However, the president simultaneously announced that he wants to give sweeping power over U.S. financial markets to the Federal Reserve.

He thinks the mortgage crises makes this necessary, SO WE WON'T HAVE ANYMORE CRISES!

As I see it, there are two ways to control the CRISES and make sure all is well:

1-Retire the FED completely and all will be well with us.
2-Give the FED full control and all will be well with it.

I care because the Fed is a gourmet lending institution—a bank. And the business of a bank is to make money from the people around them. There is no altruism or patriotism in the mix, they are not governors. They are not elected, they are not all Americans, they exist categorically to make deals that make them money. They should have no governing authority over Americans or their means to prosperity.

Watch your wallet, I predict the push to make the FED all powerful will be in overdrive before Bush leaves office.

High voltage power lines are known to increase incidents of cancer among residents living in the immediate vicinity. That' s been public knowledge for decades. Decades.

APS wants to build power lines right through existing Peoria neighborhoods. Stinks to high heaven. Peoria residents are fuming. What's so egregiously wrong is that technology exists that enable households to generate their own power requirements right on their own property. No need to imagine why such technologies aren't commercially available. New high voltage power lines should be outlawed in populated areas. Period. Any company brazen enough to draw up such plans as APS has done should lose their monopoly license. The other kicker is that nearby unpopulated corridor belonging to the Federal government would be ideal to run those lines. APS says it would cost too much and take too long to run lines along that route. Astounding gall.

What would you do if a company tried this in your neighborhood?

Coyotes (canines) attacked a pet Yorkshire Terrier near Fashion Square Mall in Scottsdale this week. The family thinks the coyotes were stalking the small dog. When the family heard the terrier yelp, all they could do was watch the animals carry the pet away. None of their screaming distracted the attack. Rabbits were plentiful in that Scottsdale neighborhood, yet the authorities didn't seem to think they could do anything about future attacks.

It's human attacks that should be getting a little more attention.

This week in southern California, coyotes attacked toddlers in three separate incidences. The children were playing in residential yards or on park playgrounds. Lone coyotes grabbed the toddler by the head and started dragging them away. Two of the children survived being dragged and bitten because an adult intervened before the child was dragged too far. The other child was saved by her father who kicked the dog as it lunged for the child. Just this week, I told my kids that coyotes were afraid of humans unless they were in a pack, but obviously a revision is in order.

Please deal with any coyotes hanging around decisively, even if you don't have kids or pets. I know hunting is not allowed in residential neighborhoods, so you might have to rely on animal control. Just make sure they've caught the animal. However, if someone hears a commotion outside and finds a coyote in their driveway with their pet in tow, I wonder if there are any laws against shooting the animal?

Do you remember the woman who was convicted of running a prostitution ring in DC last year, Deborah Jeane Palfrey? Her client's were supposedly Washington political higher-ups. I vaguely remember a ruckus about suppressing her "contact list.". Well she turned up dead today. Her body was found in Florida, in a shed near her mother's home. The news wires report it as a suicide. Police claim there was a note. One of her employees supposedly committed suicide in January this year right before her trial. Palfrey was facing 55 years in prison, her trial was to continue this month, and it was thought she would represent herself this time. What's the odds this woman killed herself in a shed in her mother's neighborhood?

The ACLU is back. Their latest target, DPS. When minorities are stopped, they stay stopped longer so they say. The ACLU looked at only one year of traffic stops by DPS. It's bad enough that a pack of lawyers have been hired to subvert laws established by Arizona citizens. But the biggest problem is that the public will be spin-fed conclusions drawn from the their spindly statistics. In this case, the sleazy sleuths simply publicized the incidents that resulted in searches.

They left out the incidents that were prompted by shootings, car chases, suspects fleeing on foot, seizure of human cargo, seizure of drugs and fire arms, kidnappings, attempted abductions, hit and runs, DUIs, auto thefts, bank robberies, etc. They didn't consider the fact that over the same span of time, Arizona experienced an astronomical rise in crime and gang violence. They didn't consider the fact that it wasn't until 2008 that only one law enforcement office in the ENTIRE state had the nerve to breech the sanctuary policy enforced by the governor. Where's THAT darn investigation.

The ACLU is a political arm, not a steward of justice, not a research lab. Their goal: posture Arizona as one big hick town that hates minorities. If you think the ACLU's real target is to curtail law enforcement, think again. As kryptonite is to Superman, the ACLU is to The Vote.

My gas mileage just took a dive with the warm weather and the extra pollen this year. I'm using the A/C before I normally do. Years ago, reports came out ranking the quality of different brands of gas periodically. Chevron, Shell, Mobil were tops at one point. I go with Shell and Mobil the most. I tried using QT last summer, but it seemed to burn up faster...that got old. I also tried Sinclair since I hear they use North American oil, but they have the most expensive gas in the state. I would expect it to cost less.

Do you have a preference? Anyone using additives to improve gas mileage? How about noticing one brand burning faster than another using the same octane level?

A large number of pharmaceuticals --antibiotics, anti-convulsants, mood stabilizers and sex hormones--have been found in drinking water across the US, according to an Associated Press investigation. The concentrations of these pharmaceuticals are tiny, and the utilities insist their water is safe. But there is concern about long-term consequences to human health. People take pills. Their bodies absorb some of the medication, but the rest of it passes through and ends up you know where! Most waste water treatments do not remove all drug residue. Even users of bottled water and home filtration systems don't necessarily avoid exposure. Bottlers, some of which simply repackage tap water, do not typically treat or test for pharmaceuticals. The same goes for the makers of home filtration systems. With 28 of 62 major municipalities tested, here's what was detected:

1. Anti-epileptic and anti-anxiety medications, Southern California.
2. Angina medicine and the mood-stabilizing carbamazepine in drinking water, Northern New Jersey
3. Sex hormone, San Francisco !!!!!!!
4. The drinking water for Washington, D.C., and surrounding areas tested positive for six pharmaceuticals, but the AP did not report which six. !!!!
5. Heart medicine, infection fighters, estrogen, anti-convulsants, a mood stabilizer and a tranquilizer, Upstate New York
6. Three medications, including an antibiotic, Tucson, Ariz. The AP did not report which three!
7. Phoenix has not been tested yet.

Actually, I like getting email notifications when I'm following someone's blog. Does anybody else? Since yesterday evening, after checking the box to be notified, no email notifications were delivered after adding a comment to a blog. No notifications were delivered when a post was added to my blog either. Is this a change or a glitch in the Matrix?

I think the emails make it easier to follow the blogs that interest you.

The ignorant, control freak bus driver was completely responsible for the ENTIRE situation. I watched the video three times. The bus driver had no excuse to touch the child or confiscate the her phone. The charges against the two gals trying to get out should be dropped, and the driver should be banned from driving anyone around except for her own neurotic daughter. The driver created the tension on the bus and lied to the dispatcher to pin the incident on the minor. The driver has an obvious mental handicap illustrated by the fact that she did not quite understand the concept of an on-board camera. I expect more of the adult, the situation was not only handled insanely, but the driver had to be told to "let go of [the child]" by her own daughter!

Good thing the kids had the wherewithal to exit out the back of the bus. Another thing, if I'm standing next to my friend, and two people double-team her, you bet I'm gonna jump in to defend her. Stop the madness.

I tried to get a freeze on my credit report last year only to find that Arizona was not participating in that program. It's safe to say, we are the Identity Theft Capital of the universe, but cell phone businesses (and others) lobbied against AZ participation because it would hinder their ability to sell on impulse! I just found out that you CAN place a fraud alert on your credit file. Where did I learn that? In the NEW! Maricopa County publication, Road Map to Crime Prevention! Despite the useful information, liberal media and Governor N. discredited the effort accusing County Attorney Thomas of political jockeying. I mean, Arizona ranks number one or two nationally in a FEW crime categories! What's the fuss?

(Did I say the entire book is in English... LOL!  Go Andy, Go Andy, it's your birthday....it's your birthday..Go An)
