Global Warming Is A Hoax! Repeat three times.

Bill Clinton says he left a budget surplus. I know he didn't leave a surplus. The Treasury Department knows he didn't leave a surplus. But Bill Clinton says he left a budget surplus in the neighborhood of $200 billion and that he reduced the national debt. He did not.

There is no such thing in as a simultaneous  budget surplus and an increase in national debt. Imagine hubby pulls $300 from the ATM and puts it in your hand. You spend $200 at the store. Does this result in a $100 surplus in the family budget? Bill says yes. But, the Treasury department indicates otherwise, documenting that the national debt increased by at least $1.4 Trillion during Clinton's presidency.

National Debt During Clinton Presidency
FY1993     09/30/1993     $4.411488 trillion
FY2001     09/28/2001     $5.807463 trillion

Clinton took a vast amount of money out of Social Security in order to cover his budgets and give the appearance of reducing debt. Except, he didn't decrease any debt, he spent the money he borrowed from Social Security. Ultimately, he borrowed more from Social Security than was used to cover his budget and he claimed the amount he did not spend as a surplus! In essence, Social Security was short-changed while Clinton was pretending to be fiscally responsible.

The idea that Bill Clinton left a surplus is completely false.

You know pJ, I've heard over and over what a wonderful job Clinton did and how he had a surplus on his watch. I've never taken the time to look into it but thanks to you we now get the truth.

How irresponsible to spend money that isn't even yours to be spending. It takes some nerve to spend the money of millions of hard working Americans and lie to them while doing it.

Good job, pJ.
Tweety, the democrats started spending money that wasn't theirs when they started tapping into Social Security, then they've been running with it ever since.

Great post......I can't even count the number of times Democrats have quoted this myth about the great surplus Clinton left in their offhand remarks about President Bush. If they only knew even a few facts, they might not be Democrats.

Any links you can provide for the rest of us or is everybody now believing things blindly?

Any links? Hey, aren't you the same blogger that wrote a ten-page, linkless, rebuttal to a post by fujica? Aren't you the same one who has been blindly reciting that Clinton left a surplus on this site? I expected you to come with links.

Feel free to check the treasury department website. I stated that was my source. Look for their treasurydirect.gov link. I spent time there directed by clues from another author. I put in some work to verify his figures, now you will have to do the same.

This is fairly old news though. Many people already know it, but it's worth refuting the lies Pelosi & Gang have been circulating lately.

Good job phoenixJane. As always, I would completely disregard anything this brainless idiot ak has to say. She is nothing more than a liberal rabble rouser that cannot see beyond the Democratic brainwashing. She would rather blame it all on George Bush. Thanks for the excellent post.

Dhw and fujica, I knew a handful of you would already know this. Bill Clinton drained Social Security and created the shambles it is in today. Tweety, I'm glad you're hearing this now. Hopefully, you can answer some of the propaganda that comes your way in the next couple of weeks.

Worldlyone, I really did expect ak to come with a link or two. No doubt she's out twisting her wit and writing another dissertation this very moment. :)

Of course it's flase, or as I call it, a lie, purposefully repeated by the democrats and liberals. Then they repeat it for years, until the vacant minded believe it to be the truth.

All anyone has to do is read the Alinsky book, Rules for Radicals, which is Obama's bible and rules of conduct for all liberals. You'd be shocked how much is exactly what the Democrats live by. And the book is dedicated TO the devil himself.

Rules for Radicals, thanks Calla for the suggestion. Can't wait to check it out. Think it might be in the public library? :)

I'm glad that Hillary is not in the running for President now! The Clintons and the Democrats have been a bunch of liars. Look what they did to one of their own - Joe Lieberman. He has gotten disgusted with the Democrats. And they want all of us to swallow the ACORN. Big news Democrats: acorns are poisonous to human beings, unless they go through special treatments! By the way, I heard from my California Congressman Ed Royce (R-Fullerton) that Nancy Pelosi called the early recess because she has huge problems in her own district. One of them is Cindy Sheehan running for her seat. Sheehan has registered as an independent. I hope she steals enough votes to cost Pelosi the election! Go Moonbat Momma Sheehan! Moonbat vs Moonbat...which one will prevail? Let them beat each other!

phoenixJane, If the book isn't in the public library, I'll bet it is in the school library.

Too bad Gore wasn't elected President before Clinton, then Social Security funds would be safely tucked away in a "lock box". heh, heh.

Good post.

The most notable surplus that the Clinton's in tandem left was their 'Hate-List' and a string of feminine names.

Not the Clinton Library, I feel sure, PJ. LOL If you can't find it, try reading the Communist Manifesto - about the same thing.
Better yet, google it up. Try the American Thinker or Mark Levin.

It's a very Clinton-esk statment,
There was a PAPER surplus on the yearly budget that last year he was in office, He was never talking about the National debt. This way he and the Democrats could say "We left with a surplus" while at the same time spend like drunken sailors. This budget surplus is just like the Social Security Trust Fund all thats in it is an I.O.U.

Tweety, understood. :)

JMP, as I understand it, Clinton wouldn't talk about the national debt because he could get away with talking about a surplus and public debt. The public was not generally informed about the relationship between public debt, holdings such as the SS Fund, and the national debt. He earned the term slick willy honestly.

Here we go again. You Righties can't leave Clinton out of the fold. But when Obama brings up the Bush administration and their major downfalls(which is much more recent)that's old news. He brings up Bush, you people bring up Regan in every other sentence and that's what? Recent? He's dead and he was an actor. He played the role of a President and that's it. The misnomer that Regan was a great President is just as false.
