I am so sad about Brett leaving the Packers. What a stupid stupid move on Ted Thompson's part. I am sure he is the main reason Brett is gone and with it the chance to even come close to a Super Bowl. His pride got in the way of letting one of the greatest QB in History get away just so Aaron his choice could play. I wish Aaron and the packers all the best I really do but right now I am just disgusted with the whole situation. It will be a tough call if the Packers (A BIG IF) we even make it to the playoffs (who I will want to win) when they play the Jets against Brett. You just might see me wearing a Jet #4 Jersey instead! I wish Brett all the best and I hope he goes on to break even more records and prove TT and Murphy wrong (and everyone else who doubted him). TT should have let him play he worked well with the other players and the fans loved him. Maybe my train has left the Packers station as well at least while TT and Murphy are leading that is...

I think the first thing I felt was disbelief when I first heard that Brett Favre was retiring from the NFL. I thought for sure he would change his mind there had to be some kind of mistake. But today when I saw the live interview the moment he cried I was crying, he is right it is like a death you have to say goodbye even though you don't want too. I do understand why he is retiring. He is tired he needs rest, he needs to be with his family.
It is awesome Favre has played 253 straight games never missing any. I can't say I could have done that. Bless Deanna's heart she gave him up for us! I understood as a parent how much he gave up to play the game he loved. His oldest daughter grown up in a blink of an eye. So I hope he takes the time to just enjoy not doing anything he has earned it.
All good things do come to an end even though we wish they could go on common sense says it can't. I told my friend everything is changing lately everything! Nothing is the same. New quarterback (who I am sure we will grow to love) however with that said I am not ready just yet to put on an Aaron Rodgers #12 jersey, I will wear my #4 Favre jersey to root for the pack! Thank you Brett you are awesome and I for one will always love and miss you. We will never forget you. #4 forever!

I love Music
Have you ever heard a song and immediately you can remember where you were, what you were doing and who you were with? I even feel the emotions that I felt at the time the song came out.
Some of the songs bring great joy while others bring disappointment from choices I made in my life and even sorrow such as when my mom died, I remember the songs that were popular then, but then again when I hear songs like Jambalya by the Carpenters or Crazy by Patsy Cline, I am reminded that she lived and loved music and to sing as much as I do. I get that from her. Even my first love when I hear that song those emotions come back, music is very powerful. Music enables me to worship my Master at times when words aren't enough, tears will stream down my face because the song is expressing the gratitude and love I feel towards Him.
You can usually find me with my Ipod which I consider one of the greatest inventions since sliced bread :) I have about 1600 songs. I love all kinds of music. Techno, electronica, contempory christian, ballads, acapella, dance, country, except one that is the screaming music my son happens to love, however; I don't get the screaming thing :( I guess I know how other parents feel. I can say though my son also shares the love of music as well.
I wonder does everyone have this or just some of us? How about some of you is there a particular song that has meaning to you and why if you don't mind sharing

So Kenosha was suppose to get pounded by the snow yet this morning when we got up we got maybe 2 inches so the KUSD decided that the kids would go to school :( so now I am watching out my window and it is pouring outside. I am sure alot of parents did not send thier kids to school due to the weather but my little guy wanted to go because his class is saying the pledge in the office over the intercom. My other son dragged his feet and He ended up being about 10 minutes late for school, they thought for sure they would not have school and were late going to sleep. I am sure KUSD doesn't want to make up anymore days than necessary but come on! When it was freezing a couple of weeks ago they closed (when we could have at least gotten out of our driveway without being blocked in by piles of snow from city plows) and on a day like today they are open when every other school including Gateway Technical College who rarely closes is closed.

Weather
Ok so we are suppose to another 9-12 inches of snow again starting this afternoon and running all the way till Wednesday afternoon. In the Kenosha News there was an article stating that we are now using next year's salt supply. Why are the people who plow complaining they are making money big time aren't they? hmmmm Who decides just how much salt we need and if we don't use all the salt do they get a refund? Does it melt? What do they do with it?
I don't know about all of you but my husband said his back and shoulders are screaming from all the snow plowing, shoveling and racking the roof off lately. I guess it is my turn to plow, although I don't mind doing outside work, I'd rather do that than house work. I told him at least getting more exercise, this is a remark directly targeted at the gym membership I paid for him at the Lakeview Recplex he used 1 time and that was only because I wanted him to come to the pool a couple weeks ago. Anyway more snow probably means the kids will be home tomorrow and summer vacations will be later because they will have to make up 3 days due to this crazy weather. Where else but in Wisconsin (and midwest) can you wear a spring jacket, carry an umbrella, suit up in snow pants all in one day? This is just crazy!

I feel somewhat better knowing that the Giants brought a major upset to the Patriots after beating the Packers and knocking us out of the SuperBowl a couple weeks ago. I can honestly say I was not surprised either. The Washington Post and everyone thought the Giants couldn't do it but they did.
For the most part I thought the game was boring because the Patriots held the giants to a 7-3 lead until the last quarter. I began suspecting maybe there was some kind of conspiracy theory. Especially after the Patriots passed over a field goal attempt to try and make 13 yards on the 4th down? What is that? Aroganance? That was the turn for worse in my opinion for the Patriots. I mean a 18-0 record is amazing but when it comes down to it it doesn't mean jack because when it really counted to win they lost. (But after hearing about them taping people during games and practice of other teams they cheated and cheaters eventually get caught) The Giants beat them! they were the underdogs only 3 other teams and they were AFC wildcard teams caused a major upset over the favorite, but this time it was for the NFC! Sweet. The Giants played well and man did they hit Brady over and over again so it really wasn't a fluke they played best last night.
The best part I thought of the whole SuperBowl (although after the Packers lost I wasn't going to watch it at first... I called it the "STUPID BOWL" since the Pack wasn't going to be in) but I couldn't help it I watched it. The commercials were funny but the Tom Petty half time show was great! goes to show you no matter how good your record if you lose one and it's over. Anyway Great game Giants and congrats! Next Year Giants we'll see if the Pack take the title back to GreenBay!

My son is in first grade this year. From the very beginning of the year I had issues with the teacher he was assigned. They are not allowed to talk during lunch and must sit in an assigned seat. Iif the weather does not permit they aren not allowed to go out for recess, so for 7 hours they are not allowed to talk at all. It they talk they get a check and if they get a check they lose 4 points (mind he is 6) for each time they talk, so a blue card comes home every week. J is scholastically very intelligent, in fact he out does his peers for the most part. One week he even got a 56 on his card this was at the beginning of the year. Mostly he gets 88 percents which considering he has to stay quiet the whole day and not forget is in my opinion great for any 6 year old.
If they forget and talk in the lunchroom they are sent to the "chillzone" untll they can learn to shut their mouth and sit in the seat assigned. If they get 3 chillzones they must eat lunch with the principal and lose recess. If they get 3 more they get to eat with the principal for 1 week and lose their recess and extra recess as well. What ever happened to forgive and forget or clean slate once punished? For talking?? According to the APA children should be punished 1 minute for every year old. How is this helping them burn up energy that will keep them quiet during classtime?? I know when I eat when people I talk it is only natural a time of fellowshipl
Friday he came home and informed me that he would not be allowed to attend the swim party on the 27th of February, that out of the class only 6 would be allowed. This is from the whole year!! I have 3 sons and never have I had a teacher like this one for my children, I asked to have him removed and the principal said she could not take him out because all the classes were full. Mrs. B never has much good to say about our children in fact on the blue card there is a place for positive comments, not once has anything been in that. Instead of looking for good she looks for things bad.
I guess I will have to go to the superintendent of the KUSD because the principal (Mrs. L) does nothing but defend this teacher (Mrs. B) who in my opinion ought to retire (the teacher). She has no joy in being with the kids it seems to be a job she must endure.
J said she constantly yells at the kids even made one cry, and the week before one student (mind you he is 6) called her the B word, what could make a young child so angry to swear at their teacher? (not to mention what the parents at home are teaching him which is another topic in itself) I try not to say negative about Mrs. B in front of J because I know this could cause even more problems :(
I am not the only parent who is not keen on this teacher many of us feel the same way, what would you do?? I just called the Principal again but I am not holding my breath. On the day of the swim party I am going to pick J up from school and take him to the recplex to swim so he can burn some of that energy off. He cries alot these days more than he use to. It seems Mrs. B gets a joy out of punishment. I talk to J and ask him to please be quiet, no poking, keep his hands feet and other objects and body (HFOB) on the carpet. It is a small classroom too small for the amount of kids in it anyway....
It is my opinion if you are a teacher or parent we should go out of our way to find something good our children are doing. Catch them doing good you might be surprised that they will actually go out of their way to please you. But that's just my opinion. I also suggested to the principal how about allowing the children a free time during the day even if its 5 minutes allow the students to talk or get them up and having them jump up and down raise their hands, take a smile break. I even offered to provide special treats for catching those being excellent. What kid wouldn't want to do their best when a reward is in play?
I am counting down the days till summer and praying J regains his cheerful attitude and still likes school come the fall, otherwise perhaps it means I will homeschool. I am tired of playing school politics.

I think I let myself get too caught up in this season! It was so hard to watch the game last night. Both teams out in the extreme cold -24! Who does that ? Some did not even wear sleeves! I wonder if anyone suffered from frostbite, judging from the Coach of the Giants he may have gotten some frostbite. They actually showed Favre was putting heat packs in his face mask. Everyone says the game should go on but in baseball when the weather is extreme they stop the game or reschedule but not in Football! They are like some kind of marines or something oooorah!
We lost or should I say we gave it to the Giants! How many times can one miss a field goal? Then I thought for sure we would win when we went into overtime. Afterall we won the coin toss, but once again Favre threw an interception and my heart sank. Deja-vu all over again. I shut the TV off immediately I did not want to hear I told you so from all the sceptics that have bashed the Packers on and off.
To my horror on one of the Wisconsin news stations (not fox6) consulted a psychic who predicted the Packers would win boy did she miss it, I hope they didn't pay her for her reading otherwise they should call the police they were robbed! When king Saul did this in the Old Testament he lost his thone. Maybe they brought a curse on us for what they did. Maybe not ...I think the Giants had a Giant... Jacobs and lets not forget Bradshaw who our defense had a hard time bringing down. Harris needed help I think he was left to fend for himself. Grant was shut down because I am sure the Giants were ready for Him. I do however applaud our defense they protected Favre and sacked Manning a couple times ouch!! Lets not forget all the penalties we had like I said we gave them the game. I do admit Eli did a great job he has a great arm on him.
The loss was due to too many errors, too cold and giving the opponent too many chances.
I am wondering if this is weighing on Favres mind today whether he will come back again or should he pass the torch on to Aaron Rodgers? We are a young team with a great coach if we keep playing this well sooner or later maybe we'll make it to another SuperBowl. Thanks Pack maybe next seaon.
To all you predictors who you think you know will win, you are just like the psychic like the Wisconsin news station consulted you really don't know Jack! Maybe teams would do better if people would just let them play instead of trying to guess who will win. People analyze too much. All we can do is hope and wait and see.
I hope the Patriots win the SuperBowl afterall they really have earned it with their perfect record, but the Giants could come in and take it all we will see. Let's not forget the Giants did not lose by much last time the two played one another. It just goes to show you, that you can win every game but if you lose one you lose the chance to become SuperBowl champions. However all said, I really don't care since the Packers are not in contention the chances are slim to none that I will even watch the SuperBowl.
Finally, the Packers are a young team with GREAT potential so I will wait till August when once again I will hope the Pack can win them all and demonstrate the Champions they really in the Fans eyes. Go Pack Go!
