I used to take it for granted that once the gas prices started to rise they would fall back to $2 a gallon and there they would stay. Now at $3.21 and rising and with the President not knowing or "acting" as though he did not know the price is concerning.

Unfortunately, along with many others for me to keep working I had to take a pay cut. I could not find another job because "everyone" are either not hiring or are laying off.

We take a look to Spring and realize that there will be around a $.65 increase because of an additive. $4 a gallon.

I can no longer afford to drive. Public transportation does not go to my place of employment. I also know over the years SEPTA has cut routes and made it harder to get around. This has to be true in other areas of the country.

We need real help either in the form of better gas mileage cars or alternative fuel source for our current vehicles. Not in 10 years but in the next 90 days.

I agree with you oneforall, but I think the biggest problem with the prices is the demand. As long as the demand is high, the prices will keep growing higher and higher. With everyone needing and buying gasoline no matter what the price, the industry is turning into a vaccuum. I think the time for another gasoline boycott is here...

Unfortunately for us to boycot gasoline we need an alternative way to get around. Walking doesn't work like it used too. All the stores on my avenue are either closed or places I wouldn't shop in, so that means having to get to the malls. SEPTA has cut their routes and it makes it hard to get around and the city might have a problem with us riding horses.

Actually, I heard that part of the higher price of gas is the wild speculation in oil as a commodity. This is not the only reason, but a big part of it. The price of oil is on a bubble now, and could continue to climb or collapse, but if that happens, it probably will not fall much.

We have known that there needs to be an alternative fuel source developed since the 70's, about time we got it done!

As for me, I drive a hybrid: somewhat underpowered and horrible in the snow, but it is great on gas!

True the price of oil has been rising, but have you noticed the extra large profits that the oil company's are making? Let's face it, the President and most of the Senators, and Congressmen that run this country are all oil people. Why should they worry about keeping the price of gas down. Now they are even talking about adding a $.50 tax on each gallon of gas we buy. Who is this money going to go too? Like we are not paying enough for gas now. Bush has farmers growing corn as an additive for gas, which in turn is causing the price of wheat, milk, and most of our food supply to skyrocket, because farmers are growing corn instead of other crops. One more thing, isn't it strange that as soon as the price of oil goes up, the price of gas goes up immediately. Yet, when the price of oil moves down, the price of gas stays the same or still goes up higher. Something wrong here. If the President was sincere on controlling oil consumption, he would be putting a limit on how many of these big SUV's could be made a year, and make car manufacturers make the cars run more efficiently. He doesn't care as his pockets keep getting filled with the money that the oil company's are over charging us all for gasoline.

I agree with you 100%, but here is the problem. Spend some time online and searching fore engine and cars that American car company's sell over seas and it will make you sick. American car company sell cars overseas with high milage diesels engines. I have sent many letter asking why. There reason no matter what company is OUR EPA. Our goverment (Demacrats) like adding more and more laws to hurt us with truly thinking of all the problems they will cause. MB has an engine getting 35 MPG on a 4000 lbs jeep overseas, bring it to US and make it leagal to EPA and it gets only 20 MPG. Here lies in the problem. As for the price of gas, BUSH tryed 3 times to get congress to open drilling in Alasaka and try to get EPA to lower requirments so we can build refinarys inside the USA. Which hasnt happen is 37 years. Yes there is a major issue in this country but the media and other people are not looking at or blaming the right people. The media doesn't like bush so everything from global warming to cyclones are all his fault.

P.S. There is a guy named Goodman who can make a BIG SUV get 60mpg. Why can't our government let car company do it?
