Last December, folks were saying the country was in economic trouble.  The Republicans in office said no... no recession.  By summer, the price of gas was climbing towards $5 a gallon.  Work was getting hard to find.  Some people said we were in a recession and should do something about it.  The Republicans said no... the fundamentals of the economy are sound.  Don't sweat it.  In the following months, major corporations went bankrupt, banks went under, the stock market began to crumble.  Today, the word was announced, that America has been, unbeknownst to the Republican leadership, in a recession for a year!  Fortunately, the Republicans have been fired and won't be running things for a while.

Do you feel Republicans did enough to recognize problems in our economy?

Why do you think Republicans refused to admit that the economy was in serious trouble?

Neither the democrats nor the republicans did anything. Dont forget the government consists of both parties.

And what has Congress, controlled by the Democrats, done about it in the past 2 years???? Don't they share at least equal (or more, they do the budget)) blame????

I don't know if it was the democrats or the Republicans who are at fault, I do know one thing the liberals are hellbent in trying to destroy everything America stands for. Liberals are Americas home grown terrorist.

Is there really an answer to these questions? What good is it to place blame on political parties?

Gammies you are absolutly right. It wasnt the government that forced those banks to make those bad loans, it was the idiots in charge. It wasnt the government that caused the automakers to almost go bankrupt, it was the idiots in charge. It wasnt the governments fault the stock market is dropping, its the idiots in charge. The blame needs to go where it belongs, the idiots making the decisions and the greed involved.

I think it is ridiculous blaming either party. anyone that has more than 2 brain cells can see both these parties are leading us down the same path, it's called the monster with 2 heads.

Pugg its those blind people that are following Oslama and eating up everything he says. They are so lost that they cant think for themself and need someone to blame for their own problems.

Here is what I said in another blog similiar to this one.

If it werent for the Democrats controlling Congress for the last 2 or so years, I would be inclined to agree. But, like I have always said, get rid of all of the career politicians and start from scratch. They are all guilty when it comes to the mess we are in now.
In order to run for office, one could never have been a lawyer or judge. That alone would bring the integrity level up several notches.

LOL You got me candy!

Yeah... I'm kidding. I know it wasn't all their fault. Mostly maybe but not all.

It goes to show you that you have to think for yourself even if you disagree with the "experts".

Roll calls and voting records would probably allow anyone to lay just blame, and squarely on the crown of those so deserving. Is it that hard to do, or are there two many afraid of the truth ? Or it is just easier to say : Bush,Bush,Bush, Cheney, Bush ?
