It's official... Senator Barack Obama has been elected the nation's first black president Tuesday night in a historic triumph that overcame racial barriers as old as America itself.

Uh, I thought Bill Clinton was the first 'Black President'...lol.

But seriously, Obama isnt really 'Black'... at least not in the typical American sense. He's mulatto at best.

Im just saying... *some* people are getting very worked up over Obama being a black president. Colin Powell is 'black' too...

Take note of this historic day. It marks the end of America's standing as the richest nation on earth, as a super power, and world leader. Did you hear that rumble? That was our Founding Fathers rolling over in their graves.

What Were You People Thinking?

I have a meeting today at work, I can only imagine what a meeting after the election could mean. I have a feeling now I am going to try to make less so I can achieve more. I have no choice. I have 5 girls that I support. If he goes through with what he has been preaching, I will be giving my money to other peoples kids and that cannot happen when I have 5 of my own. I hope everyone that voted for him is content. Remember, you wanted it, you got and everything that goes with it. ENJOY!

So, The One did it. Congrats to Obama. Now he has the challenge of all time: The live up to his hype. He also has to try to live up to his $1 trillion of promises, or at least explain why he won't be able to follow through on much of any of them. He painted such an incredible portrait of himself that I doubt that he'll be able to live up to more than about 40% of what he promised. To wit: He has no leadership skills, his appeal to bi-partisanship does not square with his own party's agenda, his support base will demand a hyper-partisan approach. I have a feeling that within about one week we are going to hear a lot of "talking down expectations" by the Obama campaign. They've already started.

Oh, and forget any idea of a middle class tax cut, at least as he has proposed it. It is an economic impossibility.

I also have a feeling that, just like happened with Bill Clinton in '92, in the immediate future he will be "invited" to a meeting with his party's "wise men", to wit: Reid and Pelosi. They will lay down the law to him and in no uncertain terms tell him that they will be the ones telling him what his agenda is.

Socialism is on the march. And the General is Barack Obama.

The question for Obama and the Socialists is: how aggressively do they want to pursue their agenda? I think they do so at their own peril.

Obama, aside from a few slip-ups, ran a far left primary campaign and a fairly centrist general campaign. People were clearly enamored with his obvious charm and charisma, and voted largely on emotion, not intellectual arguements. I think it also was a clear victory for the media as the majority of people in this country recognized that he was their choice as well.

For the Republicans, all the talk two years ago of "getting back to the core values of the party" really never occurred.

They had a nominee who would just as quick to bash his own party and their core beliefs as he would the Democrats.

Republicans need to take note, when the Dems have a choice between a Democrat and a RINO on alot of issues, they chose the Democrat. Republicans also need to realize that in a general election, STYLE counts, and counts big time.

I think at least one founder just "rolled over" as well:

"A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor and bread it has earned - this is the sum of good government."

Thomas Jefferson..........

It was a pretty one sided victory...Minority voters didn't elect him College educated whites who normally would have voted republican got Obama elected.

The only states McCain won were the South and Rural areas like Montana and such where the general population is ignorant.

After eight years of George Bush and America losing it's stance as the richest, most powerful nation, it will be an interesting next four years. We are nowhere near the richest or most admired nation now. We borrow from China and other countries, the cost of living has gone through the roof and we are fighting never-ending wars against invisible enemies.
I am on a wait and see mode. Many Republicans are over-reacting and frightened. The comments I have read comments on message boards sicken me. They seem to forget that during Clinton's eight years we prospered. It will be interesting to see what happens now.
Good luck President Obama. Don't let us down.

My lack of confidence in President elect Obama has nothing to do with the color of his skin, but all to do with my fear of Socialism. Needless to say I am unhappy with the outcome.

I was also dismayed at the answers that were given to reporters when they asked voters why they wanted Obama to be President. All they kept saying is "it's time for change". I would have loved to hear some actual answers as to why they feel he is the best person to be President of the United States, or what they thought he could accomplish in office. Anything really except the all to heard "it's time for a change".

I wrote in Ron Paul and am not very happy either. I fear more of what Clinton did in office that started the loss of jobs in our country.
The sheeple should have known that we have had a Democrat run house for the last two years and who makes the laws and calls all the shots? CONGRESS and the SENATE. They could have stopped Bush from doing a lot of what he was doing, but they choose not to do so. So I blame the Democrats just as much as I do Republicans for what has happen in this country and for once I thought the country had enough of the crap from the (one)party system and was ready to show Washington they were ready for a real change and vote for a 3rd party, but, no. Now we have a Democrat President, a House and Senate over run with Democrats. Lets see the last time this happen Woodrow Wilson and FDR rushed in the Fed Reserve Bank and the New Deal or should I say the Bad Deal. LBJ got us so far in Debt with welfare programs. Bill Clinton rushed in NAFTA, NAU and CATT, signed a tax break for companies going overseas and kissed American jobs goodbye. All I can say is HOPE you can pay for the deals coming from this Administration.
Good Luck taxpayers.
Yes, we prospered DURING Clinton, but when all of those programs took root and grew, it started the downfall.
I will wait and see and look forward to 2012.
