Say what you want about Charter, but today I was proven that there is no faster internet.... Thinking that I already had the fastest internet is an understatement...... Having a few problems with my net connection led me to talking to a tech on the phone..... We both agreed that it was probably a worn out modem...... But as we talked he informed me tha he could change a couple of things on my account and double the internet speed with no additional monthly charge....... Informing him that I already had the pipeline high speed service, he laughed and informed me that yes I do have that service but there is one faster....... So free is free and after agreeing to the changes a service tech was dispatched and showed up right on time....... After finding a problem in the cable and installing a new bigger and better modem I was set to surf once again......... Oh my goodness....... It takes seconds for the simple stuff....... You Tube videos will download twice as fast as they play...... Even the Fox 2 videos play straight through....... I just couldn't imagine dial up anymore..... Some things are just better if it's faster......

What else in life needs to be speeded up....??

We had Charter intnet and we ended up giving it up...There was nothig wrong with it we was happy, but some next door guy sliced into our cable and stoled not just cable but intnet also from us...That explained a lot why our computer was not working right we was getting kicked off all the time..

Well dad said we will get something else so we did..We now have AT&T and so far it is fast and we have not had any problems with it and it fast....

It sounds like you are running 10MB of speed now?

I always go to www.speedtest.net to confirm my speed.

You will need to select Owensboro, KY and then see what you have.

You should be uploading at/above 500kbps and downloading around 10,000kbps if you have 10MB speed.

I just tested it and I'm not near 10 but I topped 5 pretty easily....... I was told to get to 10 I would have to disconnect all my TV's and the Charter Phone which are all also running off the same cable...... Thats ok though for If I was to download any faster I would get dizzy trying to keep up with it.........lol

Hey Tommy - is this fast internet speed you have supposed to be 5meg or 10meg? If it's 5 meg then sometimes you'll get a reading of nearly 6meg.

I use speedtest also and speakeasy out of Chicago. Both are pretty consistent and very similar in their readings.

You need to be sure to delete any temporary internet files, cache, and cookies in order to give you the highest boost.

Does this mean you will be posting more...twice as fast? LOL I remember how thrilled I was to change from dial up a couple of years ago...Yay for you! It's a whole new world right? When I have to use a different computer I get really frustrated with long delays.

While we are talking about computers in terms that even I can understand, how do you post pictures on these comment sections? I just don't get it...Tommy can you help...really fast? LOL

On Photobucket click on the HTML tab and they right click on the highlighted embed code.... After that click on copy and then go to where you want to paste it at which would be the comment box....... There you need to right click again and click on copy....... It will embed a code and when you hit post comment the picture will appear......

On the front page you need to highlight the pic and hit ctrl C...... Then go to the front page and hit cntl V and it should appear....

Hope this helps........

Sorry...I'm trying to figure this out and am making headway but I don't understand what you mean by front page and hit cntl V.

I really don't seem to catch on too quickly with computer things but will keep plugging away. Thanks for being patient with me.

That is a URL you pasted on that last comment.......... CTRL C is the command for copy and CTRL V is the command for paste......
Once you have click and highlighted the picture you want to hold down the CTRL key and while still holding it down push down on the C key and that will copy it to your clipboard..... This works on anything including paragraphs of you want to paste an article...... Then you want to do the same to paste it where you are going....... But then you want to hit CTRL V and it will paste to the new location.....

I think that checkout lanes at the grocery stores need to be faster! :~)

I just did the firefox thing on my charter connection and that speeded things up quite a bit.

Wild I will keep in mind about your deal with Charter....I have had my contract for a year...I will try to get the deal you got.
