There are some advantages to the recession.....!!!

Have you noticed that the lines are getting smaller and smaller...... Today I got a haircut, rotated the tires on my van, and went shopping at a couple of stores....... The one common element for today was no waiting....... Three workers at the tire store with nothing to do..... It wasn't even necessary to park before they took it in the stall..... No waiting at Great Clips....... Walked sraight to the chair....... Nobody in front of me at the checkout at the stores......... And the traffic on the road was next to none...... Numbers not needed to be taken at the meat market........ Today was like a scene out of the Twilight Zone..... It's a sign of bad times ahead but a day of no hustle and bustle was nice.....

What's  the economy slump  changed for you ?

I wonder if the golf courses are feeling the crunch yet..... I can remember when you had to reserve a week in advance to get a tee time...

Dad is retired and his money pays all the bills with very little left to play around with..

But things will be back after mom gets to go back to work...

well I went shopping on Saturday (which I rarely if EVER do...) and it was VERY busy. I was wondering if the recession had effected anyone? I was at the Mall, best buy , Kmart... all busy.... then on Sunday went to Schnucks and again very busy ....so no, I had not noticed a difference....yet!

I haven't noticed any difference when we do go out. We have trying to make it out at least once a week lol. Today was our day. To Potosi to pay insurance, never a line there. Then to Park Hill's grocery store and Desloge Walmart. Both store's were really busy for a Monday and at noon.I have noticed a change in our spending tho since Truman is off. No fuel everyday. Not stopping to eat as I would be like I am to tired to cook at 5:30 when I got home. It is nice for sure.

Oh dollar general store in Leadwood wasn't busy. I had to check and see if they had Truman's pecan roll's and my little fruit cake in yet. Yes they did. I will eat the green thing's too.

A lot of them at the High Ridge Salon have been there for a while...... I could understand a larger turnover in bigger towns but its still pretty friendly out here.... I go there for the reason that you don't need to make an appointment....... I hate that....

I went into the bank the other day and it really did spook me...There were no Customer Service people there at all. It looked so empty. There must have been eight empty desks and I was the only customer in the bank...Troubled times...lay offs...or maybe just a 2:00 staff meeting. LOL
It really did make me wonder though!

The lines at the theatre were long. Many shows were sold out. The concession line took 15 minutes.

Did notice there were more open check-out lanes than normal at the stores so waiting was the same or a little less.

The traffic was terrible around Gravois Bluffs people trying to get in and out.

I say lots of people have not changed their lifestyles yet.

Fairview Heights around the mall still has almost one hour waits on Saturday nights. Chain like Olive Garden, Red Lobster etc... My dog groomer said business is down my hair stylist said she is "too busy" but her husband just got laid off so she is glad for th ework.
