Wherenberg's babysitting service...!!!

Remember when the movies was a  place to lose yourself for a couple of hours...... Forget the world even existed and escape from reality by drifting into the silver screen and interacting with the characters in the movie....... Nowadays it seems that you have to be more aware of what's going on in the seats..... Kids that are dropped off and are more interested in disrupting the audience and looking cool in front of their friends by throwing things at other people in the theatre....... Cell phones have found their way in ..... Now we will have to worry about the occasional drunk which might not mix well with the rowdy kids....... I totally understand that the theatres are strapped for cash and this is the sign of the beginning of the end...... I suppose the good old days of escaping reality at the movies are....

How long does the theatre industry have left....??

AT our local theatre, If you are under 17--You have to have someone at least 18 with you ..and they DO check ID. You can't just drop the kids off.

I remember being able to ride my bike to the show when I was about 10 and spending the afternoon there with my friends. Remember the "double features" they had?

It's really a sad sign when you go to the movies and see a police officer on duty assigned to the theatre lobby.... Ushers are not enough anymore......

I agree it is sad and a sign of the times! You just dont always feel safe there either....

But I do think the theatres still honor their refunds if you are unsatisfied with the movie or your time there...yes?

oh boo hooo hooo, there's a simple solution if it bothers you so much,DON'T go!also, why should the theatre give you your money back if you didn't like the movie?that's one of the stupidest things i've ever read on here~and that is saying a lot.

I'm sorry babylove but when kids are throwing ice in a theatre and hitting me in the back of the head It is going to bother me..... I got out of my seat once and traumatized some young punks one time.... They were throwing everything but the seats and disrupting everyone trying to watch the movie....... If there had been an usher like the old days he would have escorted them out.... But since theatres only hire kids to run the place that was not going to happen so I scared them out...
If I pay 11 dollars to see a movie I'm going to watch that movie

I understand what you are saying.....but theres just no where for kids to go any more. But they do need to be respectable always,no throwing things etc...Ronnies is agreat place for kids to go on friday nites and saturday nites...they can be inside being silly with their friends, flirting with the opposite sex....they do need security though to keep the kids in line and be sure there arent any perverts hiding around inside...good time to go may be in the early saturday or thru the weekdays??? not sure....Im just waiting for a good movie to be out there...

Well wildflower, I agree with you that children in the movie theaters lack edict today. I must admit that I wonder about the parents. Ignoring their children by just dropping them off at a movie theater and leaving. Or dropping them off at a mall and leaving. Yet, we still here how good there family values are.
On child needs a cell phone at the age of 10. But, there are many children who have them.
Parents say I'm too busy... work and all. Or I'm too tired from work.
maybe if they would spend a little more time with their children and less time at the bar or on the computer. Things would be different.

actually babylove, we were given our money back, for a movie we tried to watch, and could not. a mother, now this is a grown up woman, with 3 kids, who were running wild, and she did nothing. we went to the manager,s aid we wanted our money back, we were immediatly refunded, AND the disruptive family was left there to annoy others. and babyloves statement, is about the stupidest thing i have ever read on here.

We drank beer/cocktails in 1998 in a theater in St Charles--cannot remember which one. I love the movies but hate rude people--kicking my seat, talking, talking on the cell phones, swearing....personal space and good manners--out the window lately. I may sound old but I do not believe I ever acted disrespectfully. I was afraid an adult would kick my but..or tell my parents!
