Today on my way to lunch I passed a homeless guy with a sign that read "Vote Obama, I need the money."

I laughed.

Once in the restaurant my server had on an "Obama 08" tie. Again I laughed as he had given away his political preference. Just imagine the coincidence of these two.

When the tab came I had already decided not to tip the waiter. I explained to him that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept.

He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need--the homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight.

I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10 and told him to thank the server inside as I'd decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy was grateful. The way he took off I'm betting he was on his way to snag a bottle of hootch.

At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment I realized the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn even though the actual recipient deserved money more.

I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in concept than in practical application.

Body count:

In the last six months 292 killed (murdered) in Chicago.
221 killed in Iraq.
Our country's leadership in Illinois...all Democrats.
Senators-: Barack Obama & Dick Durbin,
Representative:  Jesse Jackson Jr.
Governor:  Rod Blogojevich
House leader-: Mike Madigan
Attorney General-: Lisa Madigan
Mayor:  Richard Daley

Thank you for the combat zone in Chicago. Of course they're all blaming each other. Can't blame the Republicans, they're aren't any!

State pension fund $44 Billion in debt, which is the worst in the country.
Cook County (Chicago) sales tax 10.25% is the highest in country. (Look'em up if you want).
Chicago school system one of the worst in country.

This is the political culture that Obama comes from in Illinois. He's gonna 'fix' Washington politics? You gotta be kidding...isn't there an old saying about "cleaning your own house first? He couldn't do it in his home state, how could you ever think he will do it in Washington?

Since New Orleans sent us their complaining refugees and evacuees, why don't we send our illegals to them?  One dirty deed deserves another.

I think the news media, and by media I am talking about the leftover stone age conglomerate from the 1960s, is totally off track and pushing for one candidate and one only. I do not expect the media to soft pedal any candidate but let’s just face facts. There is a huge double standard and here are a few examples:

According to media pendants, Sarah Palin's inexperience in foreign policy is a fatal defect for the Republican candidate for vice president, but unimportant in the Democratic candidate for president.

Palin's husband got a DUI 22 years ago and that is scandalous, but Obama's admission that he was snorting cocaine at about the same time is too insignificant to mention.

The pregnancy of Palin's teenage daughter is fair game, but the fact that a Democratic candidate for president (John Edwards) was conducting an extramarital affair while his wife was suffering from incurable cancer should not be reported out of respect for their privacy.

It was scandalously reported that Sarah Palin, as mayor of Wasilla, sought earmarks for her town, but unworthy of mention that Barack Obama has steered earmarks to the hospital where his wife works, and to his major contributors.

The pastors of the churches Sarah Palin attends in Wasilla and Juneau are worthy subjects of investigation, but that the pastor of the racist church Barack Obama attended in Chicago for more than 20 years should be off limits.

A news media which is probing every aspect of Sarah Palin's life has been remarkably incurious about Barack Obama's relationship with unrepentant domestic terrorist William Ayers.

The Democrats and their lap dogs in the media are pulling out the stops to smear someone and that someone looks pretty damn good to a lot of Americans. Here is a little hint for you smug, self righteous, stuck up liberal rascallions:  you don’t make any friends nor do you gather people to your cause by telling them over and over that what they think, how they feel and who they worship. It is stupid, backwards and moronic. I look forward to another four years of complaining by Democrats that the Republican's stole the election.

Barack says we need to have a conversation about race in America.

Fair enough. But this time, it has to be a two-way conversation. White America needs to be heard from, not just lectured to.

This time, the Silent Majority needs to have its convictions, grievances and demands heard. And among them are these:

First, America has been the best country on earth for black folks. It was here that 600,000 black people, brought from Africa in slave ships, grew into a community of 40 million, were introduced to Christian salvation, and reached the greatest levels of freedom and prosperity blacks have ever known.

Wright ought to go down on his knees and thank God he is an American.

Second, no people anywhere has done more to lift up blacks than white Americans. Untold trillions have been spent since the ’60s on welfare, food stamps, rent supplements, Section 8 housing, Pell grants, student loans, legal services, Medicaid, Earned Income Tax Credits and poverty programs designed to bring the African-American community into the mainstream.

Governments, businesses and colleges have engaged in discrimination against white folks — with affirmative action, contract set-asides and quotas — to advance black applicants over white applicants.

Churches, foundations, civic groups, schools and individuals all over America have donated time and money to support soup kitchens, adult education, day care, retirement and nursing homes for blacks.

We hear the grievances. Where is the gratitude?

Barack talks about new “ladders of opportunity” for blacks.

Let him go to Altoona and Johnstown, and ask the white kids in Catholic schools how many were visited lately by Ivy League recruiters handing out scholarships for “deserving” white kids.

Is white America really responsible for the fact that the crime and incarceration rates for African-Americans are seven times those of white America? Is it really white America’s fault that illegitimacy in the African-American community has hit 70 percent and the black dropout rate from high schools in some cities has reached 50 percent?

Is that the fault of white America or, first and foremost, a failure of the black community itself?

As for racism, its ugliest manifestation is in interracial crime, and especially interracial crimes of violence. Is Barack Obama aware that while white criminals choose black victims 3 percent of the time, black criminals choose white victims 45 percent of the time?

Is Barack aware that black-on-white rapes are 100 times more common than the reverse, that black-on-white robberies were 139 times as common in the first three years of this decade as the reverse?

We have all heard ad nauseam from the Rev. Al about Tawana Brawley, the Duke rape case and Jena. And all turned out to be hoaxes. But about the epidemic of black assaults on whites that are real, we hear nothing.

Sorry, Barack, some of us have heard it all before, about 40 years and 40 trillion tax dollars ago.
