Alright!

I have to write a blog on this.  I have not been affected by the 40 closure and still am not, however, when I venture into the areas that are, one thing I am seeing and it is pretty annoying.  Clearly it is congested, the lights are green then they are turning yellow and then red, however motorists decide they don't want to wait for another green light and 2 or 3 or 4 more pull into the intersection and block it so that the people who have a green light can't go anywhere and thus more gridlock and congestion.  This is what I call down right rude and inconsiderate.  I hope that the police will send out some of their new recruits and start ticketing people.

what is up with Metro Buses?  Why do they drive so fast?  On our way to work today we witnessed a Metro Bus driving down Forest Park Boulevard west bound like it was going to a fire.  We called Metro and they stated, we will look into it.  Funny that is what they said 2 months ago when the same bus was driving the same way.....I guess Metro wants a lawsuit when one of their bus drivers kills someone because they feel the need to drive so fast?

here goes!  Today we were out enjoying the weather.  Watchin traffic and there was Fire truck that was approaching an intersection and had their sirens blairing.  Other cars felt the need to slow down and stop, (mine you it is the law)  A cab driver decided that he was going to speed up and try and go pass the fire truck that was coming into traffic.  The cab driver almost hit the fire truck.  What is up with this?  We tried to get the license of the cab driver so we could report it.  I have seen this a few times in the past....  Wonder how this cab driver would feel if they were the family that requested the fire truck and the fire truck was in an accident due to a person who did not want to obey the law and stop so that the Ermergency vehicle could do their job.....  I am just amazed at people.

Do you have a personalized license plate? If so care to share it?

I do. I do wonder about the people that put on their license plate the car they are driving, etc. I saw one on a BMW and the license plate had BMW in it, it was not a dealer car either, so why pay to identify your car? Anyway, if you want to share your vanity plate do so!

just wanted to give a shout out to the tailgater on Forest Park today AM around 7:30am  The white Buick Century.  Older man.  Slow Down.  Several of us had to deal with you and for a few minutes you actually had to slow down and were boxed in.  WHOOOOOEWWW...

Fellow bloggers-

Wonder if you have noticed this also.  You know the crosswalks at intersections, the ones that people are suppose to be able to use to cross the street in and hopefully not get hit?  What is it with drivers do they not see those yellow lines?  I have recently been looking at each light I stop at and have noticed that people are stopping past the yellow lines and thus are making people who have to cross the street have to go out into traffic to cross the street because a driver can't stop before the yellow lines.  I understand if you think that you were going to make the light and did not, but back up.  Are you that lazy?  We were out this weekend and noticed several stoplights where people were clearly into the middle of the intersection and there was no one behind them and they still would not backup.  Thoughts?  Fox you ought to take a camera out and talk to these people.....  All it will take is for a Pedestrian to be hit and then some family will be on TV due to another human beings laziness.

wonder if anyone else saw the road rage at Big Bend and Forest Park Blvd this AM 9/19/07 around 7:15.  It occured between a blue SUV and a Emergency Medical Transportation mini van.  The blue SUV was going west bound on Forest Park and going to make a right on Big Bend to go northbound.  There was a red light for west bound Forest Park traffic and thus this was rush hour and quite a bit of traffic on Big Bend North Bound.  The blue SUV was waiting to make a turn and the driver of the EMT van got out of his van, went up and starting yelling obsecnties at the driver and then proceeded to bang with both fist on the blue suv's driver window.  WHAT IS GOING ON.

We got a good description of the person, unfortunately we did not get the driver's license or the number off the EMT van.  We made a call the EMT and advised them of this.  They advised without a drivers license number or id number on the van it would be a challenge to locate the driver due to the large number of drivers.  If you witnessed this call EMT at 314-781-6400.

Alright-

I am baffled by Tailgaters.  You (the tailegater) feel the need to make out with my rear bumper when my rear bumper clearly is not interested (hence I am not speeding up or I am actually going to speed limit or slightly over but not to your liking).  When there is clearly a lane to the right or left that you can speed on your merry way, you chose not to.  So since you are to lazy to go around, you think it is my responsibility to move over into another lane so you can speed by.  Pretty self centered, if you asked me.  So for those who feel that riding another car's bumper will produce the results you want, trust me if you are tailgating me, it will not.  Also, if you hit me from behind guess whose fault it is?  So why not safe yourself the money and slow down.  Nothing is that important.  Think about it you are driving a 3800 pound vehicle (give or take a few pounds).  My theory is would you do this to someone you love?

On my drive home this week traffic was backed up on Lindell and Big Bend/Skinker due to a woman who wanted to give a donation to a stop sign beggar. What is up with that? I realize you want to help this person, but giving them money at a stop sign is only going to help their addiction. In Chicago, they have a newspaper that is put out by the homeless and they are paid a certain amount for each paper they sell. http://www.streetwise.org/

Here are a few things to thing about when driving-

Are you late?  why are you late?  Do you really need to put others lives in danger because you are late?  Would you cut off someone that you loved? Tailgate someone you loved?

Is the cell phone really necessary?  Is making that call going to make that big of a difference?

Exceeding the speed limit more than 10 miles, is it really necessary?  What is the big hurry?

Work zones-slow down, think about those working out there.  I am sure that you would have issue if you worked somewhere and were at risk each day of being hit.

This world would be so much nicer if people actually cared about others, rather than focusing on themselves.

We as adults are suppose to be examples to our youth.  Even the youngest can comprehend what you are doing.  Please slow down.  Every morning I see so many stupid things.  I am on the road at 6:30 so I don't have to deal with the idiots later in the morning and at 6:30 there are still so many stupid people on the road.

We as a society are very selfish.  We don't care about others when we drive.  People cut people off, make others slam on their brakes, all because someone is selfish.

People speed in and out of traffic, tailgate and for what?

Just because you are late, you want to put others in danger.  When is really comes down to it, is it really worth it?  Would you do this to your mother, father or brother?

It would be really nice if people actually would open their eyes and think about what they are doing.  Remember we are on this planet for a short time, slow down and think about what you are doing.  Really, is it that important?  Would what you are doing make your creator happy?
