Palin, really?  Out of all the choices McCain could have made?  A former beauty queen, yes, she is easy on the eyes compared to Her Thighness and Michelle O, she is a mother of 5 and has no foreign policy experience.  She is from Idaho and moved to Alaska.....how many of us can relate to this person?  I'm fine with McCain owning 7 houses, I can relate to that.  I can not relate to this isolated person that will not even be able to help in a swing state.  McCain has my vote, but really, what was he thinking?  Maybe I'm missing something.

Hey, when I first heard about his pick, I thought that they said "Sarah Van Halen". I thought, "Cool - a rock-n-roller."

Seriously, though, I was a bit baffled at first. But as it has sunk in, I view it as a shrewd political move. The female vote is an important demographic and I think that this will help McCain in that regard. I like Romney but he's too "rich".

Hey, one thing you can say about her: She's not a career politician and I think that that speaks volumes.

Osama needs to be very careful about making an issue of her lack of experience. She has just as much as HE has and she's not leading her party's ticket.

Hi sweet Michelle. I am tickled that you are back in the mix.

This is either the greatest move EVER or it's the WORST move ever.

We'll see.

I am most troubled by the comment from Liberty University (Falwells demon pit) when they called it "Brilliant".

If Jerry (rest his soul) Falwell's guys like it, it must be narrowminded and evil.

I figure he did it to capture the Idiot Vote. That's the segment of the population that will vote for him only because he has a woman on the ticket. Actually, it's a sound move and I'm not surprised the Republican Party told him to pick her.

Why jump to the beauty queen thing?
That's something she did as a teen and so what?
Does that somehow make her less intelligent?

Isolated? Do you really believe that in this day and age that ANY state is isolate?
We have an island state that's farther away. Would you say the Governor of Hawaii is isolated?

Floyd said she has as much experiance as Obama.
I would dare say she has MORE!
She has executive experience and Obama doesn't!
After all, running a state is much akin to running a country but only on a smaller scale.
Same basic problems and solutions. What has Obama run besides his mouth? Nothing!

The more you learn about this woman, the more you will like her. Trust me!

I guess I am not a fan of people that smack bubble gum. If I, a conservative that has worked my whole life to break the glass ceiling can not relate to her, then who does? Perhaps I am being too hasty, but it is difficult to wrap my brain about why? How many of us would vote her into office today as President and that is what we have to consider.

Personally, I'm not voting for HER. But I know that many (mostly women) will cast votes for McCain solely because SHE is on the ticket. Much the same as a good many people will vote for Osama solely because he's (sorta) black.

CLASSIC!

So, Freak, you would not vote for her as president? If not, why?

I might vote for her next time around.
But who knows who might out there that's better still.
This is McCain's time although in the number two slot,
I would be comfortable with her if anything were to force her to take the wheel.

You say you are "a conservative that has worked my whole
life to break the glass ceiling". How does she differ from that?
Her family is hard working. Does that differ from you?
She's by all accounts, a loving mother and devoted wife.
Does that differ from you? On what level can you not relate?
Is it that she's lesser know than other choices?
Does popularity make one qualified?
Obama is popular but he's sure not as qualified!

Apart from gender, I relate to her more than I do McCain and HE'S who I'm voting for.

I couldn't relate personally with Ronald Regan but I knew then and now he was the right choice.

Why the need to relate at all?

Sorry for my lack of conciseness, Michelle.

What I meant was that I will be casting my vote for Senator McCain, not Governor Palin. In other words, a candidate's VP choice does not really influence my decision to vote for or NOT vote for someone (although Biden merely serves to galvanize my opposition to Osama).

Would I have preferred that McCain pick someone else? Yeah, I suppose. I personally would have gone with Romney. But do I understand why he went with a babe instead? Sure.

In the grand scheme of things, I think that it was a good move.

Vitto,

Almost missed your comment. Capture the idiot vote? Guess that means you'll be voting for him then? Why do you see conspiracy in everything? I guess when Charmin cut down the number of sheets on a roll, you figure it was a government plot huh? *lol* Vitto...you really worry me sometimes.

As usual, some (1) has to rely on insults when they disagree. Floyd said the same thing but that's OK as you identify more with him. Stirring the pot is fine when it provokes thought, but that's not what you're trying to do, is it?

Hate to tell you this my RWNJ friends....you ARE voting for her. McCain may fall over stiff and cold at any moment and you'll have President Palin.

Her greatest accomplishment is trying to bully someone into firing her ex brother-in-law. Hardly the stuff we need when Putin comes to town.

She ice fishes and shoots a gun, loves sex (5 kids) and can sink a three pointer. So what? That's great qualities for a wife but hardly for commander in chief.

Is this person capable of dealing with the issues? She's an inexperienced Jimmy Carter. She makes Obama look like an old pro.

At least she can complete a sentence of more than two words.

Limbercheeze has filled you up to the eyeballs with RWNJ drivel and mindless crap (not you sweet michelle--the boys know who I'm talking about)..

I hate to break it to you, YD, but it's not Rush that guides my judgment.

It's KARL ROVE!

Get over your hatred of all things conservative. "The government" is not the answer to your prayers, much as you would like to believe that it is.

Let me see...for whom shall I vote?

A war veteran that spent five years as a prisoner of war that has proven that he doesn't walk lock-step with the party line 100% of the time?

Or an empty-suit socialist with ties to racist, anti-Semites, and self-avowed terrorists?

I think that you know the answer to THAT.

You know what, YD? If McCain had a health issue that might cause me to question his ability to complete his eight-year term in office, I might worry a bit. But that is not a concern to me.

If John McCain was hoping to get Hillary voters, he should have picked a woman who understands the importance of Roe vs Wade being upheld.

Now, if Sarah were a ProChoice person, Barack may have to worry. But since she isn't, he doesn't.

To think women are gonna flock to John because of a ProLife woman VP shows his campaign still doesn't get it. Maybe Diebold can help them out?

Now FloydFreak, Obama has already been "Approved" by the Jewish community. Ron Paul has not. So the slur of Anti-Semite doesn't fit him. Nice try tho.

Rush and Carl aren't bothered by the small details, MO and sometimes our pal Freak listens a little too long on the drive to Mickey land. I think stangs brain has been addled by the ink from his printer.

When Liberty U. called the choice "brilliant" it made me shiver. The opinion of Falwellians carries little weight with me.

I still prefer Jonnie Mac over Hussein O'B but this choice makes me REALLY nervous. We'll see.

hehehehehehe..... You mean Barry O'Bama? He's Irish.

I agree, if Liberty U thinks it's great, it's not so good for the rest of the thinking population.

Vitto,

Check yourself fella. It was you that called those voting because of her, idiots. Don't sling insults and they wont come back to hit you! As far as my conspiracy comment...if the shoe fits....

"McCain may fall over stiff and cold at any moment and you'll have President Palin"

YD,

At least she ran a whole state as governor! As I said before, what has Obama ran besides his mouth? NOTHING! That thing with her bro-in-law, who knows if any of that is true or what he had dont to warrent it. If it is, I count it as far less than taking bribes or making choices that would line her pockets. Don't let this choice of VP make you nervious. Go learn about her.

BTW everyone, I haven't listened to Rush in weeks. I'm too busy making a living and keeping up on the news they old fashion way. By reading everything I can!

Having recently accepted the nomination of a fellow blogger to run for President I felt it was appropriate to update my profile. I have lived in Florida for a long time, but have lived in 13 States in total. I feel that having lived in a quarter of the states I am qualifed to be President. I do have a political affilialtion, however that is not important, I will do what is best. If you contribute to my campaign I promise to make promises that you want to hear!!!! If you don't vote for me, don't vote for anyone, no sense in wasting your time!
