Last Wednesday I spent the day looking for a place to live, climbing many sets of stairs, schlepping through unit after unit.  I felt unusually short of breath and tired when I returned home.  I decided to take a nap.  As soon as I climbed into bed my lungs felt like they were filling with water and I could not catch my breath.   My mom had been staying with me to go on the housing search.  I asked her to call 911 between breaths.  I ended up in the hospital with congestive heart failure.  Further testing concluded that my kidneys had shut down causing a back up of fluid that my heart tried with all it's might to help eliminate but it ended up in my lungs.  The preliminary findings are LUPUS but next week I will see the kidney doctor to chart my course of action so that I can get myself back to normal.  I am left with damaged kidneys, a weakend heart muscle and high blood pressure.

If I had I gone in for my regular doctors appointment they probably would have caught it sooner.  I ignored the symptoms and landed myself in ICU.  Please don't do what I did!  By ignoring my health I put the most important thing in my life, my family and friends, through a lot of unnecessary anguish and I feel horrible about it.  PLEASE THINK ABOUT WHAT IT MOST IMPORTANT AND TAKE OF YOURSELF!

Thank you everyone for your prayers and thoughts for me and my family!  I am going to be just fine, I am in good spirits and I am blessed to have many friends and a loving family!  Thank you all and it's good to be back, there is no place like home!

Michelle,

Sorry to hear about your health issues. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. May you fully recover from these health issues soon.

I hope you had health coverage as it can be financialy draining if not, which is added stress and the last thing that anyone needs while battling a health issue.

Welcome back Michelle!

We've missed you.

You add a certain je ne sais quoi to our discussions on the blogs here and the blogging community is worse off for the many days you were unable to post. I became more cranky, if that's any indication.

Please take care of yourself, as people like you help make our little blogs, as well as the rest of the world, a better place because of your presence.

Big (but gentle) hugs Michelle.

CM

So sorry Madam Pres. I should heed your warning myself..... I am well over due for my check up for my diabetes..... I shouldn't be looking for trouble... But the Mom types like us, that are always looking after everyone else, tend to neglect ourselves. :-(

I will be pestering you down the road to make sure you are following up with your appointments. The kidney problem is a BIG concern... Please, Please be careful...

I have put you in my prayer circle and I know our positive thought energy people are going strong on your behalf. When we all come together on the behalf of someone else I believe good will come! :+)

Every best wish for a controlled and steady recovery. It is so fortunate the results were not as devastating as they could have been. We can all learn a lesson from your experience and thank you for being so candid in sharing the risks most of us take all too often.

THANK YOU! Your wishes and prayers are very much appreciated! Our little Blog Family means a lot to me.

My mom is actually in the kitchen right now packing my crap, I am fortunate to have her help and blessed that she was here that night. I may not be here anymore if it wasn't for her.

Having recently accepted the nomination of a fellow blogger to run for President I felt it was appropriate to update my profile. I have lived in Florida for a long time, but have lived in 13 States in total. I feel that having lived in a quarter of the states I am qualifed to be President. I do have a political affilialtion, however that is not important, I will do what is best. If you contribute to my campaign I promise to make promises that you want to hear!!!! If you don't vote for me, don't vote for anyone, no sense in wasting your time!
