A New York Senator has proposed giving a ticket to people who cross the street while wearing headphones or on their cell phone.

There were a couple of people killed while using their Ipods in New York and the Senator says a 100 dollar fine will help bring awareness and save lives.

However, that means there were millions of others who weren't killed and are using their Ipods and cell phones just fine.

Who's at fault here?

-The Ipod wearers/Cell phone users for not paying attention to traffic.

-The drivers for not watching out for pedestrians crossing the street.

-The Senator for putting out a proposal that limits all the people who can listen/talk and pay attention at the same time.

Hi Todd,

There has been more cell phone usage I have seen more. NOt so much ipods, because I see that at college more. Yes, Tracey those blue tooths, people are talking and at first I thought they were crazy for talking being loud and was wondering why they were talking to themselves. Now that looks stupid.. Hey Todd you do a good job. Wanna hear you play the harmonica more.....

todd, jsut for the people of ohio to know. this country is becoming more of a comunist country. first, no use of cell phones while driving, yes understandable, second: no smoking; yes i smoked for 32 yrs and my girlfriend got me to quit because of my breathing, but now they have got to where you really cant smoke anymore if you want too. you must be in confine somewhere to smoke. pretty soon there will be no smoking anywhere. why not stop the cigarette companies and tobacco companies & mfg. from making and selling. third but will not be last if the govt. has its way, now its the ipod. I thought this was the land of the freeand home of the braves. as i see it, our rights are being taken awayand there is nothing we can do about it.I just want to know where is this country going to be in the next 50 to 100 years? please get this on the are so i know what the viewers think too. thanks a million for being with fox 8. to the morning crew i love what you do, so keep it up. your faithful viewer in the morning from 7am to 9am joe in maple hts.

Whose fault is it? It's the idiots who are wearing the headphones, talking on cell phones, etc. If you can't do 2 things at once, you need to only do one thing---that would be watching the traffic and/or driving.

I don't talk on my cellphone while I'm driving. It's turned off. If I need to use it I pull into a parking lot. Accidents can happen in a split second, and I don't ever want to live the rest of my life with knowing I killed or maimed someone because I was on a cell phone and not paying attention or didn't react fast enough.

I think if people are getting hit by cars maybe they need to turn down their IPOD. If you can't hear what is going on in NYC then I think you have your music too loud and should go and get an ear examination.

But like Pikie said it is their own fault.

Also I think this country is getting a little carried away with "banning" things. I thought this was supposed to be a free country. When did our rights to make our own choices get banned?

We started loosing our rights, when people started loosing their common sense.

Todd, The problem is with government suggesting yet another law to protect us from ourselves! If a person is dumb enough to walk out into traffic, then so be it. Many government leaders, especially liberals, want to decide what is best for us all. I received basic common sense skills from my parents. I don't need another law from governent.

No, I don't drink coffee, even though I get up at 2:30AM every morning. Todd Meany here, if you didn't guess. I do love working in the mornings though. The crew is great, and it's nice to be home in the afternoon so I can hang out with my 3 boys.
