What is going on these days with this junk! I cant believe the level some kids stoop to. Now calling in bomb threats as pranks is normal it seems. Its bad enough that its common of hear of shootings at schools, now the kids are calling in bomb threats and other threats?
Something has got to be done, but what? Anything done will probably just provoke more of this. Any ideas?
These people doing this are just as bad as the people who really do come into schools and shoot people. If there likely to call in threats, they are likely to follow through. If were not careful, one of these threats will be real one day. Then we will realize more should have been done. I hope these people pulling these "pranks" are caught, arrested and tried as an adult. I dont care if they have no future because of jail, for what they did, I dont think I want them around.

What ever happened with Dennis Riggs? Isnt he the one who had the stroke or the aneurism? I think this was in the late 80s or early 90s. I know one of the anchors did, I think it was him.
Also, when did Don Marsh retire or whatever? I just now realized hes gone.
Can you think of any other past anchors that have gone on?

Tomorrow in Florissant we are to vote between two mayoral canidates. One, Bob Lowery has been serving as mayor for at least four years, Im not sure. He seems to be doing fine, he has helped the city with numerous developments and crime as not gone up or down dramatically in either direction. The police still do an awesome job, and I really have no complaints...
BUT...
The guy running against him I know nothing about. His agenda pretty much seems like its to stop progress? At least thats what I get out of his stuff I read. He talks about low morale of the police department, but I know several officers in Florissant and they all talk about how good it is there. He wants to stop spending, and reduce the budget if I understand correctly. To me that sounds like stopping the growth and the improvements the city desperately needs. He talks about correcting the problems with the sewer lateral program??? I've never encoutered any problems, my parents havent, my neighbors havent. What is he talking about.
Does anyone know? I'm trying to be fair, maybe I just dont understand where he is coming from. I want what is best for the city, which is continued growth and improvement. I'll vote for the one who has that in their agenda, but I only have a day to figure it out.

St. Louisans are great at over-reacting and dwelling on the same thing way too long! There must be 50 different posts about larussa. Dont get me started on Ameren, hornbeck or that hoosier boy that described a truck and was made into a saint. I dont mind reading this stuff once, but everyone thinks they need to start a new blog and say the same thing! None of these issues are hardly worth even thinking about. Larussa is not important enough, Ameren is not important enough, Hornbeck is not important enough, none of them are important enought to have the same things posted over and over again, and nothing is that important. Dont get me wrong, its news the first time you hear it, and its interesting to read the first blog about something, but hearing it on the news over and over again and then seeing the same thing over and over again here is just flat out retarded. If you read something and have a comment, post the comment as a reply, dont start a whole new blog. IF you agree with a bloggers comments, simply reply, "I agree" or something, DONT START A NEW BLOG AND REPEAT WHAT SOMEONE ELSE ALREADY SAID! People waste too much time as it is. Its very time consuming to click on a blog and start reading almost the exact same thing someone else, or yourself has already said!

I am very disapointed and I will try not to let my anger show through too much. Last Tuesday when we got all that snow, my dad fell as he was outside working with a snow blower, it was a heart attack. The neighbors rushed over and did CPR until the ambulance came. The roads for the most part were driveable, but you had to be careful. My mother and I followed the ambulance to Christian Northwest, on Graham road. Graham road was so bad, the ambulance slid past the hospital, as did we. All the other roads were at least decent enough to stop on. Graham road which has several medical buildings and the emergency care center was not even touched by any road crews it looked like. The snow was so thick you could not see the road unlike all of the other roads we drove on.
Why wouldnt they clear that road better? That puts a lot of people in a dangerous situation. It wasnt just this snow fall either, even the pretty minor snows get Graham road severley messed up and that entrance to the hospital is never cleared. I wrote the city of Florissant and St.Louis County about this. I am anxious to see if they reply.
My father did die that day, it had nothing to do with the roads but it makes me wonder, what if they got there quicker.

This happened long before this site was here but I still want to mention it.
There was a police chase that was followed by John in SkyFox. The whole thing was aired live. The police finally got the man out of his car and he ran. Police gave chase by foot and they tackled him. From the air you could see what was a pretty intense arrest in progress. Of course certain agencies and groups claimed it was too rough.
For a while I heard things about that, but I have heard nothing in a few months about that.
What happened? I know it was being investigated and I thought the man that was arrested was freed.
Anybody know anything about what I'm talking about?

I'm sick of this, and I'm sure others are too. I live in Florissant, a very nice, quiet city in North St. Louis county.
I'm surrounded by Hazelwood and BlackJack, also nice and quiet.
Florissant has been ranked one of the safest cities of its size more than once. There has been no murder or homicide in Florissant in at least three years, correct me if I'm wrong.
Yet, I always hear south county and st.charles people make snide remarks towards Florissant. I hear it at work, "I'm not driving to Florissant for that" or "dont you have a location somewhere better?" I even hear people tell me that they wont come to that part of St.Louis.
I see it on the news that the whole north county area is concentrated on less than south, west and st.charles county when it comes to things like traffic, events, positive news and even weather. Wheres the gateway guide camera for 270 in Florissant where the traffic is always messed up?
As soon as anything bad happens, they talk about the area like its a crime ridden ghetto.
I see a lot of houses go up for sale because someone black or foreign moves in next to them. They high tail it out to st.charles or somewhere only to deal with the same situation a few years down hthe road. I'm white, I have two foreign neighbors, and a black family up the road. Guess what, I'm still alive! I can still sleep at night and I didnt have to put bars on my windows. Heck I leave my car unlocked a lot of nights.
I am just sick of Florissant and North County being looked at as the butt hole of St. Louis.

Hey morning show hosts & crew. I just want to say keep up the good work. I heard your viewer line comments today and somebody actually had the nerve to say you guys joke around too much and that if you had a brain you'd take it out and play with it.
I dont agree and I bet most people dont. I enjoy watching you in the morning. Its better than the stiffs on the Today show and whatever CBS has on from the geriatric ward. I'd much rather wake up and get my day started with a happy, entertaining news show. Thanks for doing what you do and how you do it. Its a very well balanced show with the news, traffic and weather and of course other stories. You help a lot of people get going in the morning and you do it with a smile. I have watched from day one of the morning show, and it just keeps getting better.
PS
This includes the helicopter dude John Rub....I dont know how to spell his name but you know who I'm talking about.

OK...WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON!!!
Last night I drove from Florissant to Fenton and it took me over an hour! Traffic was moving about 25mph from before Dorsett all the way to hwy 44. I never saw an accident, I never saw any issue that would cause this. I notice this happens a lot and I never see any reason why. And, to top things off I could not find a decent traffic report anywhere. All but one station failed to mention the back up on 270 and I think that was KMOX.
Its just irritating that this happens for no known reason. I expect it to be backed up a little by hwy 40 and stuff but not almost the whole stretch of 270 from 70 to 44.
St.Louis is just a bad place to drive when it rains!
By the way Monica, you do a great job in the mornings. I needed a decent report like you and your helicopter buddy John do!
By the way, how come theres nothing on this site about John???

We all know about the story with the Hazelwood police and the dude from Nellys St.Lunitics. I dont know if there will ever be a way to know the complete truth about what happened. Its in my nature to always side with the police, just because I have worked with them in the past and I do have family members and friends that are police officers and highway patrol officers. I dont understand completely what happened but I do know that Hazelwood cops are usually pretty tolerant and most would not tazer someone unless the officer felt threatened. I know that the "victim" was handcuffed but that does not mean he could do harm to the officer. From what I have seen and heard I think he may have earned his right to be shocked and it has nothing to do with his color. Now the NAACP is going to get involved and try to make a good clean city like Hazelwood look bad.
This is just something that will be taken advantage of all for the sake of money in my opinion. I know I probably have just made a ton of people mad, but thats what happens. The fact of the matter is he probably deserved it, it hurt worse than he thought so he thought it was excessive force and now he, and the NAACP think they have a lawsuit on their hands. I'll shut up now.

Not to be rude or anything but does St.Louis have the worst drivers in the country? I'm sorry but I am surprised there arent more people injured or killed in highway accidents. Every time it rains people act like they are driving in a foot of snow. Obviously you should slow down, but at least go somewhere close to the speed limit. At the same time you have the Mario Andrettis weaving in and out of traffic going double the speed they should be.
Then there are the red light runners. I live in Florissant and these camera controlled lights are popping up everywhere but I still see people running the lights at nearly every intersection. I wish I were a cop!
Lets not forget the tailgaters. I had someone so close to my back bumper today I couldnt even see the color car they were driving. Then they did the Nascar move and whipped around me all mad for only going 5 or so over. Jokes on her, she got stuck behind a slow rainy day driver...and it wasnt even raining.
I just have to rant about this because I'm getting ready to drive home and I'm really not in the mood to put up with the jerks I always see on the road.
One more thing St. Louis, On ramps and exit ramps are NOT that hard to figure out! Speed up on on ramps, and merge into traffic. Dont go 25mph and wait for cars going 70mph to slow down and let you in!
And on exit ramps, guess what you do. You SLOW DOWN!
Bad driving is whats killing highway workers and police officers doing there jobs.
Thank you for letting me rant and rave. I hope I made at least one bad driver mad enough to pay attention when they are driving.

Why does this situation seem to be played down a lot? North Korea is testing Nuclear bombs, threatening war as a respnse to sanctions and promising more test but I dont see it discussed very much on the news. It seems like people are more interested in celebrity news and the baseball playoffs than the threat of a whole new war.
When did Paris and Nicole become more important than nuclear war?
Is it me or is this a bit more important than hollywood mumbo jumbo?
