Your conversation proves my point. First of all what does Rev. Wright have to do with any of the issues that concern the nation. He has absolutely no effect on fuel cost, health care, the economy, or any other issue that affects the citizens who are voting. Rev. Wright's views don't control  whether Obama's, Clinton's, or McCain's initiatives get started or completed. remember the 35 years experience part) The news uses this story because people are so misguided that they pay attention to a issue that has no effect on them and the news media only plays what will get good ratings. Personally I have spent very little time on Rev. Wright, frankly because he is not part of the issues that concern me. I am much less afraid of Rev. Wright than a nuclear war, my friends and people I know loosing their homes, folks not having healthcare (which means my tax dollars pay for theirs), and a whole host of issues that the experienced candidates have not solved in all their years of "experience". These are the issues that are important. While most people are worrying about a non issue no one is doing anything about the real issues. Maybe you have "arrived" and don't care to look/reach behind you and make a better place for others. Maybe you have got yours and don't care about anyone else’s. The reality is this whole Rev. Wright thing is a mis-direction play. It really does not matter who started it because if it continues none of the real issues will get addressed. That is the point I am making and who ever the voter is they need to realize that the same has brought us nothing and it is time for a change.

Jeebs107, I agree with you wholeheartedly, but the sad truth is, some people do not want change, some people do not want to help their fellow man. They'd rather concentrate on Rev. Wright, as you say, who has nothing to do with the real issues but, they will use him as an excuse to criticize or find fault in Mr. Obama as a way of not voting for him. These people would never have voted for him anyway, which is their choice but don't use a non-issue as an excuse. I have been called a socialist by a blog person because I believe everyone in this country is entitled to healthcare. I don't mind paying higher taxes so my neighbor next door who works 2 jobs to support his family and yet has no medical coverage will be able to have health benefits for him and his family. I don't care what race, creed, religion or color, all persons living in America should have healthcare benefits.

Who you hang out with and associate with says much about who you are! Obama has done nothing of major noted political significance in his life and has no demonstrated long term leadership experience. So, who he associates with tells us tons about the person he is. This is critical to the campaign, not some unnecesary side issue. If you don't like the guy enough to stand by those who he stands by or who he did stand by for over 20 years, then perhaps you shouldn't be supporting him either.

Rev. Wright is outspoken but you know what, me being an african american woman, I can relate to some of his issues. Listen to his entire sermon that was plastered on every news station for 30 seconds. Not just the part about damning America, the complete sermon. In fact, he was quoting someone when he made that statement. I understood him when he spoke with Bill Moyer as well. Do you know, 1/4 of his congregation are white? So whatever he's preaching, can't be too bad if his white congregation is still with him. I started to dislike him when he made that news conference on that Monday. He seemed as though he wanted glorification and to be the center of attention. Now, there's a lot to say about Rev. Hagee. Oh yes, he apologized yesterday to all the Catholics that he accused of causing the Holocaust. I wonder why that was just a one liner on the news. And yes, John McCain said he would not denounce him. What kind of person would say something like that. Like you said, "who you assoicate with says much about who you are". Hagee also said Katrina was caused by gays. Again, disgusting. He should of been blasted just as Rev. Wright for saying something so disgusting. But I guess double standards exist, right. So stever2258, you seem like a standup guy. I know you're upset with what Hagee said too and now your views on McCain are different also. I love Sen. Obama. I believe in his views and I want change in this country. Not the same crap that's been going on year after year. Rev. Wright, Mr. Ayers, the good fairy, the bad fairy or whomever else the news media as
