Ok everybody, here we go again. I just read about a suspect being arrested conerning the Marianne DeMartin case. Marrianne DeMartin is the Burington county woman that mysteriously disappeared back in 2005. Police just recently found a match of DNA that was left behind in the missing womans' car and have arrested Alex James Crow. Now, here's where it gets sketchy. The "perps" race has not been given. Not to say that "race" places any relevant issue in the circumstance at this point, but, I'm still willing to bet that the suspect in this crime is Caucasian. Although "Alex" is known to be a name that is more familiar to the  "Hispanic" or "Black" ethnicity, I'm gonna spin the wheel on this one based on the news media's history concerning the acknowlegement of criminal identity. Usually when the perpetrator in a crime is a minority his picture is posted immediately. That is not the case in this matter. Although I could be wrong, my gut instinct tells me that this guy is "White". jeebs1707 Pennsauken N.J.

You're worried about this man's race, and the poor missing lady is probably dead??? Get a grip! If the cops have the right man what does his race matter - it's one less monster on the street to threaten the safety of our loved ones.

Who is Alex James Crow? He is a WHITE man, and I only know this because I HAVE seen his face in the newspaper and on TV.

Too many times the news stations and newspapers rush to get the story FIRST, not always accurate I might add. Because of the competition, there are times when a story hits the air before the police even release a mugshot. It is the media that does this, not the police, the victims family, or anyone else.

I would not assume by a name being Alex that he was white, black, hispanic, asian or whatever else. I would assume that his name was Alex. I know more white Alex's then black and hispanic combined, in fact I don't think I know any black or hispanic Alex's at all. (I DO have friends of all races)

If this guy is who I think he is, he grew up in Pennsauken as I did, and you apparently live there too. He could have once lived in the house you live in now.

It's a shame that someone must always play the race card in these situations. I don't ever recall hearing or reading a story of an arrest where it bluntly states... "Police arrested black man John Doe for murder" most often it will say "Police arrest suspect for murder". You know this is true, so stop playing the race card game, it is not only not necessary, but growing very OLD!

KylesProudMom- I appreciate the info. concerning the news medias' position when posting "hot" news topics. And, I do believe that in some cases the information about a topic is put out prematurely. But, you completely lost me when you said you never heard the news literally say " Black" or "Hispanic" when stating an arrest. That leads me to believe that you don't watch the news very often because that in the "norm" for the news media. Although I may not totally agree with your insight on the matter, I still respect your views. Thank you for your comment. jeebs1707

I'm an avid news watcher and I am a resident of Pennsauken, N.J.. I am extremely interested in current events of any nature. I am adament about making people aware of the racial divide that exist in our everyday lives as American citizens and coming up with solutions to change it. I am in need of advice and solutions concerning such issues. http://www.JOURNALS.AOL.C
