I Received this in my inbox the other day, and it raises a number of interesting questions. I would like to hear from you. about your reactions:

Like a lot of folks in this state, I have a job. I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit. In order to get that paycheck, I am required to pass a random urine test with which I have no problem. What I Do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who DON'T have to pass a urine test. Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check because I have to pass one to earn it for them? Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I Do, however, have a problem with helping someone sitting on their ASS doing drugs while I work. Can you imagine how much money the state would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check?Pass this along if you agree or simply delete if you don't. Hope you all will pass it along, though. Something has to change in this country -- and soon!

I hate it when this happens!

A Global Positioning System can tell a driver a lot of things - but apparently not when a train is coming. A computer consultant driving a rental car drove onto train tracks Wednesday using the instructions his GPS unit gave him. A train was barreling toward him, but he escaped in time and no one was injured.

WASHINGTON , DC 11/30/07- Congress is considering sweeping legislation which will provide new benefits for many Americans. The Americans With No Abilities Act (AWNAA) is being hailed as a major legislative goal by advocates of the millions of Americans who lack any real skills or ambition.

"Roughly 50 percent of Americans do not possess the competence and drive necessary to carve out a meaningful role for themselves in society," said California Senator Barbara Boxer. "We can no longer stand by and allow People of Inability to be ridiculed and passed over. With this legislation, employers will no longer be able to grant special favors to a small group of workers simply because they have some idea of what they are doing."

In a Capitol Hill press conference, House Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid pointed to the success of the U. S. Postal Service, which has a long-standing policy of providing opportunity without regard to performance. Approximately 74 percent of postal employees lack any job skills, making this agency the single largest U. S. employer of Persons of Inability.

Private-sector industries with good records of nondiscrimination against the Inept include retail sales (72%), the fast food industry (68%), and home improvement "warehouse" stores (65%). At the state government level, the Department of Motor Vehicles also has a great record of hiring Persons of Inability (63%).

Under the Americans With No Abilities Act, more than 25 million "middle man" positions will be created, with important-sounding titles but little real responsibility, thus providing an illusory sense of purpose and performance.

Mandatory non-performance based raises and promotions will be given, to guarantee upward mobility for even the most unremarkable employees. The legislation provides substantial tax breaks to corporations that promote a significant number of Persons of Inability into middle management positions, and gives a tax credit to small and medium-sized businesses that agree to hire one clueless worker for every two talented hires.

Finally, the AWNA Act contains tough new measures to make it more difficult to discriminate against the Nonabled -- banning, for example, discriminatory interview questions such as "Do you have any skills or experience which relate to this job?"

"As a Nonabled person, I can't be expected to keep up with people who have something going for them," said Mary Lou Gertz, who lost her position as a lugnut twister at a GM plant in Flint, Michigan , due to her lack of any discernible job skills. "This new law should really help people like me." With the passage of this bill, Gertz and millions of other untalented citizens will finally see some light at the end of the tunnel.

Said Massachusetts Senator Ted Kennedy: "As a Senator With No Abilities, I believe the same privileges that elected officials enjoy ought to be extended to every American with No Abilities. It is our duty as lawmakers to provide each and every American citizen, regardless of his or her inadequacy, with some sort of space to take up in this great nation."

Boy where do I start with all the problems I see coming with this…

1.

Hansen said the proposal was inspired by a report from the Institute for Wisconsin’s Future, a liberal think tank in Milwaukee that has claimed Wisconsin corporations use loopholes to avoid millions of dollars in taxes every year.

Liberal think tank...whose job it is to always think someone somewhere isn’t paying its fair share.

2.

The state would release the information after two years in a database that would allow linking of related corporations.

Establishment of such a database has been among the suggestions that the institution has made in the past.

And how well have new databases worked out in the past? Oh thats right, THEY HAVEN"T

3. In order to actually believe that the State is being screwed out of taxes, you also need to assume that the business posted a profit on operations in Wisconsin.

4. (the following comes from The Associated Press article on this story.)

Microsoft reported $12 billion in profits but paid nothing in Wisconsin, Norman said. Merck reported $5 billion but paid nothing and Sears had more than $1 billion in profits but paid no state tax, Norman said.

Now the one thing to keep in mind is that these are companies who do business WORLDWIDE and yet the only thing that is mentioned in the article is that they made these Billion dollar plus profits. It seems to me that these were the only numbers looked at, and Wisconsin would ultimately just love to TAX the companies based on TOTAL profit numbers, instead of Profits or losses incurred within the State of Wisconsin.

Much has been made about Annette Ziegler and her troubles before being elected to the Wisconsin Supreme Court (SCOWI).

For those of you who have not heard ,Justice Ziegler found herself in front of the Ethics Board for Not recusing herself from case brought in front of her court involving foreclosures with West Bend Savings Bank in which her husband is an active Board Member. (Arguements could also be made regarding any case in which any member of the Wisconsin Manufacters and Commerce is involved in a case coming up to SCOWI, and whether Justice Ziegler should recuse herself from those cases as well)

Justice Butler on the other hand, as ACTIVELY taken "campaign contributions" from attorneys with CURRENT cases in  front of the Supreme Court. (Wisconsin v. Menasha Corp.)

What I find to be most interesting is that this all comes down to exactly one THING. POLITICS.

The newspapers in the State of Wisconsin are all calling for Ziegler's head on a platter, while in the same breath, saying "This will have no bearing on Justice Butlers ability to remain Impartial."

To which I ask these questions:

 Why the double standard?

Is Butlers indiscretion any different because we all know he will rule against Menasha Corp anyway? and Finally

How would you handle this?

This JUST may explain MY lack of a sex life!!!

And it also makes people read blog postings.

Much like this one...However I digress!

In 1997 the Feds took control of The World Famous Mustang Ranch in Reno Nevada. Now 10 years later they sold it.....AT A LOSS!!!

The Federal Government of the United States can not run a bordello and make money.

One cathouse. Just one. Not "one in every state". Not "one whether you think you need it or not". Just one single legal bawdy-house with an already-established customer base.  (Not including Senators from DC)

And they couldn't keep it out of the red.

Now, this is just my opinion, but if your money-handling skills are so poor that you can't even make a profit selling sex, then you have absolutely no business getting involved in more complicated financial areas.

In other words, if "Slam, bam, thank you ma'am, here's a hundred bucks" is too complicated for you to make a profit, then you might just want to keep your meat-hooks out of, say -- health care.

So, the next time some bright-eyed little bit starts chanting about "Universal Health Care", I'm going to loudly and firmly opine that until the Federal Government is capable of running a profitable brothel ... they've got no business trying to run my health care.

"Why yes you may, but be careful he bites......."

A diapered monkey allegedly bit a young woman on the thumb early today outside a State Street bar.

The small black and white monkey, 12 to 18 inches tall with a long tail, bit the woman around 1 a.m. in front of State Street Brats, then ran off, police said. At noon today, police spokesman Joel DeSpain said the monkey was still on the lam.

"This guy was in the beer garden at State Street Brats letting women pet his monkey," DeSpain said, adding that when the 20-year-old victim attempted to do so, it bit her.

She suffered four puncture marks to her thumb, two on the top and two on the bottom.

Police today were able to contact the monkey's owner, who lives in a second-story State Street apartment. DeSpain said animal control officers were being called in to quarantine the monkey for observation to make sure it is not diseased.

On July 2nd 2007 the world lost whom I TRULY believe was the last of his kind on earth. His name was James Bennett Cheaney and he was my Dad.

He was a man who endured 12-15 hour days at his job, so that his wife and children could have a beautiful 8 acre "spread " out in the country. Complete with a baseball diamond.

He was a man who LOVED playing softball and watching Brewer games, and just socializing with the guys.

He was a man who had a very intimidating stature, and yet NEVER used it, for evil. Instead using it for lifting things like 550LB oil barrels over his head and onto a loading dock. or moving engine blocks, or lifting transmissions, just because he could! :) or hitting home runs on his softball team. -A sport he played until he was 58 years old!

He was a man who attended all the baseball practices and games of his sons that he could, being there in spirit when he couldn't. Always encouraging them and NEVER belittling them when something was wrong with their hitting or fielding.

He was a man who had just as much fun going to Disney World as his sons did! :)

He was a man who when confronted with the challenges of caring for his wife who was stricken with MS and completely bedridden, rearranged his entire life style just for her, handling things like taking her to the bathroom, bathing her, cleaning up after her and even cooking for her. (NEVER HIS STRONG SUIT!) All so that she would NEVER be faced with being in a nursing home.

He was a man who actually lived 10 years longer than he should have. 10 years ago he had a stroke. A stroke that left his brain operating at 15 percent of "normal" capacity. And yet 10 days after that stroke, thru the work of god was discharged with ABSOLUTELY no brain damage.

He was man who although losing his leg to diabetes, was still able to keep a smile on his face, and continue doing the things he loved to do, work on his lawnmowers, watch fireworks with my brother and I and his 3 grandchildren on July 1st, at my brothers 4th of July party.

In short he was just an AMAZING man.

I LOVE YOU DAD! You were taken from us, way to soon!

RIP James B. Cheaney

On Saturday I went and bought a brand new pressure washer to wash my dump truck with. (Paying 80 dollars for the privilege of sitting inline for 3 hours on a Saturday was getting old!)

So anyway I am washing the dump truck when I feel this tapping behind my knee caps, It was my 3 year old nephew Conner.

I turn around to say hi to him, when he reached out to grab at the wand. Well I tried to pull the wand from his hand when he said "I Try, wash truck?"

Well Conner is a very stubborn boy, -Wonder where he gets that from?- Who is also VERY intelligent and adventurous when it comes trying new things.

I didn't see the harm in letting him try out my new toy....figuring that he would never be able to pull the trigger back. Well I was wrong. He had  the wand aimed directly at my truck tire about 3 inches away (I was holding the wand with him) when he WAS able to pull the trigger and unleash a force of water that knocked him on his butt, about 5 feet away.

At this point I am not sure whether I should be laughing or crying at this point, so I run back over to him, expecting that he will be crying and that I will have to explain to his mom and dad Exactly why their son was playing with a pressure washer in the 1st place.

Well I get to him and he just stands up and says to me "go again?" Apparently believing this was how it was supposed to work.

It truly is moments like this that make me love my nephew even more.

GAWD that child is GONNA be a HANDFUL, albeit with a sense of adventure. Just like My Brother.

Quick see if you can spot the irony in this story.

A Vallejo woman reportedly suffered minor injuries Friday when her car was rear-ended by an SUV driven by a state senator talking on a cell phone while driving through Solano County.

State Sen. Carole Migden, D-San Francisco, was driving her new state-issued 2007 Toyota Highlander Hybrid SUV at 10:40 a.m. on eastbound Highway 12 at Beck Avenue when she rear-ended Ellen Butawan, 31, of Vallejo, California Highway Patrol Officer Marvin Williford said.

Butawan's 2005 Honda sedan was slowing behind a 2003 GMC Savana van that had stopped at a red light, Williford said. The impact forced Butawan's car into the rear of the van, driven by Bob Jordan, 57, of Turlock.

Butawan complained of pain after the three-vehicle smashup and went to NorthBay Medical Center in Fairfield after the crash as a precautionary measure, Williford said.

Migden, 58, accepted blame Friday for the accident.

The collision remains under investigation, but it appears Migden took the wrong exit, inadvertently going on the eastbound I-80 connector onto eastbound Highway 12, Williford said. She was looking for a way to get back onto the freeway when she crashed into Butawan's vehicle, he said.

Migden's sobriety was verified by officers using a hand-held

breath-testing unit, even though there was nothing to indicate she had been drinking, Williford said.

"It was just a precaution," he said.

Her SUV, which she recently swapped for her taxpayer-funded 2005 Cadillac STS, sustained a dented front grill that kept the hood from closing properly. It was towed to the Fairfield CHP office, where officers used a coat hanger and duct-tape to secure it, before Migden drove it away to a meeting in Marin County.

Migden last year voted for a new law that takes effect in July 2008 that will impose a minimum fine of $20 for anyone caught using a cell phone while driving without a headset, ear bud or other technology that frees both hands.

Bear with me. Following my commentary, I will post some info that EVERYONE can use regarding what you can do if you EVER find yourself in this situation.

This DID NOT have to happen!

BROOKFIELD - A woman sitting in a stalled car on I-94 was killed early Sunday when another car plowed into her vehicle.

The stalled car had no lights and was stopped in the traffic lanes of eastbound I-94 near Moorland Road.

The driver of the stalled car was rushed to Froedtert Hospital but died a few hours later. A female passenger in the stalled car was also taken to the hospital but she was treated and released.

Tragically this womans lack of knowledge DIRECTLY contributed to her untimely death, and could have contributed to the deaths of 2 other people as well. There was NO reason she should have left herself in that position. (Although me thinks at 4am on a Sunday alcohol somehow played a role in this)

In the event you find yourself in this situation ALWAYS remember that you can get onto the shoulder of the road, even if the car just stops suddenly.

1. Turn the key to the "on" position.(thats the 1st click you hear while turning the ignition to the "run" position which actually starts the car)

2. Put the transmission in "neutral" (thats the N position on the column) Remember you DO NOT need the car to be running in order for this to work, it is basically a safety feature to enable the car to be moved in the event of an emergency.

3. Place hand at the 3 o'clock position on the steering wheel-this will enable you to keep you hand close to the shifter in the event that the car goes somewhere you don't want it to.

4. Steer car to the shoulder of the road or out of the traffic lanes put car in park, and call for help.

Following these steps will keep you and others safe in the event you find yourself stalled in traffic.

The only reason I am writing about this is because yes I am involved and also because it is a topic I feel VERY PASSIONATE ABOUT,not only because it involves me on some level, but also because it involves people that I consider to be "blogging buddies" as well as friends, and as such I feel a need to stand up and defend them.

Now perhaps many of you have not noticed this--and I'm sure many of you have-- but there suddenly appears to be a "war of egos" taking place within the MyFoxMilwaukee blogging community. (And yes although I am not proud to admit it I too am involved)

This whole controversy started when kennyk expressed some of his "concerns" regarding the state of Television news in Milwaukee. (Concerns that have since been addressed by Ted Perry, and also Carlos the web guru, and very intelligently by the way)

KennyK has since stated that he respects the view points of Carlos and Ted Perry, as well as the other people who commented on his blog regarding this topic.  (And yes Kenny can have some viewpoints that are a little over the top, HOWEVER in my opinion that is what makes him so interesting, he actually makes you step back and think about what he is really trying to say.)

However it seems that a few of us are now "targets" -for lack of a better term- for others distaste regarding KennyKs' postings. (And for the record they are NOT Ted Perry, Carlos or ANYONE associated with FOX6)

Why are we targets? Because we all stood up and defended NOT necessarily his writings, but because we defended what we perceive to be his right to write them. And apparently this has ruffled some feathers within the blogging community.

All of which leads me to these question(s)....

1. Seeing as that we have NEVER met face to face,  what is it about this little "group" that irritates you so much? (And I do know that our defending Kenny has NOTHING to do with it)

 2. Why do you think I am wrong for defending his writings?

In the interest of disclosure: I have no issues with FOX6 or the way it reports its news, in fact on the very rare occasions I am able to watch Local News Fox6 is the station I watch (However I do leave for work at 4AM, arrive home often by 6:30PM and am usually asleep by 9PM)
