What is wrong with people?  What kind of a parent would let their child wear something like this to a school prom?   This girl is all upset because the school had a standard (thank God) that she didn't meet and because they turned her away because she showed up at the Prom looking like a Prostitute vs. a school girl attending her Senior Prom.

I have three words for you little Ms. Hoochie in Waiting..... "GET OVER IT"

Would you let your daughter wear something like this to her school prom?

She certainly is a beautiful girl and you're right, she doesn't need to cheapen herself by wearing such a contraption (for lack of a better word). Had she been my daughter, she never would have left the house wearing that and certainly would have never been seen in public in it.

Her parents let her walk out the door looking like that?

And she is wondering why they didn't let her in.

It is totally an inappropriate outfit for a high school prom.

It is a better outfit if you wanted to be a paid escort, or if you worked in Vegas.

I know my own parents were really strict about what I wore on any given day, but the 3 proms I attended, my father had to approve my dress before I was allowed to wear it. My father, was a minister, so you can imagine what kind of dresses I had to wear (the women fished out of the cult in West Texas comes to mind), He was even weird about how I wore my hair. My father would be spinning in his grave if he thought that I would let a child of mine go out looking like that.

If she were my daughter, I'd staple her to the wall. I like to think that in spite of my show biz backround, that my wife and I taught her morals and scruples.
we all have such a GREAT mutual respect, that my daughter would NEVER even consider going out in public like that, much less her prom!
I'm sorry, parents simply HAVE to do a much better job woth their kids!!! Too many parents are letting their kids RUN THEM!!!

NO! NO! NO! WE make the rules NOT THEM!!!

That girl is just ASKING FOR TROUBLE!!

I agree 100% with you Bob... it is our responsibility as parents to set a good, positive and moral example for our children. Children learn what they live. So many parents today are letting the kids dictate them, scared to say anything to them- therefore the children have no respect for their parents or for themselves... hence the girl in Houston.

This may sound lame, but coming from a broken home I became my own role model. It wastn't hard to distinguish right from wrong. I don't believe in hitting your chldren. I DO belive in setting good examples, drawing lines in the sand and NOT backing down when you're right and being big enough to appologize when you're wrong! That show them we're not perfect, even parents make mistakes. But we are still the ones with the experience, we've been there and done that and tried to learn from our mistakes! Parents aren't know-it-alls , but with any luck at all we won't pass our mistakes on to our children!
I will be doing a future blog on parents NOT teaching their children respect for others and or themselves! LOOK FOR IT!!

I will be looking for it Bob. I do discipline my son, which sometimes includes spanking. He has a mean streak and a stubborn side to him that my mom claims he inherited honestly from me. He is nearly 4 and has had a bit of a problem being a clepto in the grocery store, I have to go through his pockets before we leave the grocery store to make sure he didn't swipe something. He knows it is wrong to take things that do not belong to him and it is wrong to take stuff without paying, but he still does it, knowing if he is caught, he will get a spanking... but he chances it anyway. I will not have a little felon in waiting and hopefully he will grow out of some of his habits soon :)

Tee hee! Yeah I noticed the tatoo's too Move. I am not a fan of girls having tatoo's like that. Clearly her parents either supported her outfit or could care less.... I suspect though, it was the latter.

Judging by her attitude, I agree with you Guns.

Was she strolling around that playground because of the interview? Or was it because she likes to walk around playgrounds dressed like that?

Good thing the principal backing this decision up is black ... or Rev Al be on the warpath. Not to defend the girl but when I went to school the prom was strictly formal ... but recent trends have changed ... I recall my son's prom and the girls came dressed like I dream of Jeanie. It wasn't as revealing as this outfit but it certainly was a far cry from the prom dresses of my era. I guess it was just a matter of time until someone pushed the limit.

if they could this would have been turned into a racial issue. good point about the principle

Is she kidding? That doesn't even qualify as a "dress". Does she even have a mother?
