Myths About Gay Marriage

Myth #1 Being gay isn't natural.

Myth #2 Gay Marriage will encourage people to be gay.

Myth #3 Legalizing Gay Marriage will lead to people and animal marriages, and other crazy types of marriages.

Myth #4 We shouldn't change the Institution of marriage!

Myth #5 Straight marriages contribute to society because they produce children.

Myth #6 Gay Marriages will produce gay children. No it doesn't just like Straight marriages don't neccessarily produce straight children.

Myth #7 Children cannot succeed without both a male and female role model at home.

Myth #8 Gay Marriage will destroy or change the foundation of society.

Myth #9 Marriage has always been between 1 man and 1 woman.

Myth #10 The Bible Says homosexuality is wrong, therefore it should be illegal.

Myth #11 This one is for free! Gay Marriage will cause straight marriages to fall apart. Not sure what the logic is behind this, but it doesn't make any sense. How will two gay people make a straight man or woman want to get a divorce? It makes 0 Sense. Zero!

Not all theologians agree that the bible says that homosexuality is wrong, some argue that passages such as in Leviticus is actually speaking out and about rape, and not homosexuality necessarily. And even if the bible does mean this, it doesn't matter, because this is a Democracy, not a Theocracy! We shouldn't pass laws based on religion, because it is wrong to force our own moral values onto other people, especially when they are used to deny other citizens equall treatment and civil rights. The founding fathers built this country and our Constitution to prevent government establishment of religion, and purposefully built a seperation between church and state. Imagine if you lived in a Islamic society and were forced to kneel for morning prayer or wear a burka? You probably wouldn't like it, which is why it is wrong to do that to other people.
No it hasn't! Various societies have had different forms and types of marriages. Polygamy was practiced in the Bible. Some Native American societies had gay marriages. Ancient civilizations that lasted thousands of years had openly gay leaders (Alexander) and had levels of marriage which included gay marriage.
No it won't. Society can and will adapt, just like it did with mixed marriages, and outlawing 40 years from marrying 13 year olds. Our society is strong for a variety of reasons. Gay Marriage will strengthen our society, by promoting monogamy between gay couples, good mental health, tolerance, and happiness.
If that is so, then why are single parents allowed to raise their own children? Two loving parents who happen to be gay is probably better than one straight parent.
Gay marriages shouldn't be allowed since they can't product children. No, marriages are allowed to create a socially stable environment, and as a way to bond two family groups. We allow straight people who can't have children, such as people who are infertile or are two old to have children, like my Grandma who married her 80 year old boyfriend,
Wrong! For a long time, blacks and whites couldn't marry and that was changed. Originally a woman was considered to be property to their husbands, but that was changed. In early America, a 45 year old man could marry a 13 year old girl, but that is no longer allowed, (in this state anyway).
False, this is what is known as a Slippery Slope Logical Fallacy, check it out on my blog entitled "Logical Fallacies", may be in the archives by now. The argument for legalizing gay marriage is to allow two people who love each other to enjoy the same priveleges of other citizens equally, not to allow polygamy or any thing else.
No it won't, just like being straight won't cause gays to be either. Who is so confused about their own selves as to be afraid of being "turned gay" by being around gay people? If so, maybe that person is probably gay in the first place.
Being gay is natural. It occurs in nature amongst various animals in different animal kingdoms. Scientists have studied gay birds, whales, and a number of various animals that are gay and have gay sex. There have been examples of gays throughout human history, from Ancient Greece and the Roman Empire which lasted a thousand years, to Native Americans who allowed gay men to marry other gay men.

Breaking News!

Caveman Endorses John McCain and the Republican Party

Researchers in Antartica have recently unearthed a neanderthal man from a block of ice who has amazingly survived for thousands of years! After a doctors examination and several warm and high fat meals, the man, who calls himself UGH learned English and began ranting about liberals, global warming, Barack Obama, Evolution, and other usual Conservative Republican rants

UGH The Conservative Caveman

Washington, June 10th, 2008. A Neanderthal man frozen for thousands of years is uncovered, alive, and is ranting about "liberals destroying America!" and "Global Warming is liberul conspiracy"

Negotiations are in the works with several AM Talk Radio stations to give the Conservative Caveman who promotes the beatings and killings of hispanic immigrants and gay people, a weekend talk radio spot.

Fox Cable News have also booked the controversial Conservative Commentator on Hannity and Colmes and the Bill O'Reilly show.

Conserviative Caveman plays coy when asked about a possible VP spot for Republican presidential candidate John McCain.

John McBush

G.W. BUSH 2?

Is John McCain the Next George W. Bush?

John McCain has a surprising number of Bush administration lackies and cronies working on his campaign (as well as a large number of paid lobbyists).

Many of John McCain's campaign advisors were once George W. Bush's campaign advisors!

Terry Nelson was (and still is) George W. Bush's National Political Director- Now he John McCain's Campaign Manager.

Mark McKinnon was George W. Bush's "media" team leader- Now he is John McCain's Media Advisor- Coincidence?

Stuart Stevens, Rus Shriefer, and Fred Davis, were all once George W. Bush's "media advisors"- Now they work for McCain doing the same exact thing

Brian Jones was George W. Bush's Campaign Spokesman- Now he is working for McCain as Communications "director"

Steve Schmidt was George W. Bush's "rapid response chief"- Now he works for (you guessed it) John McCain as communications advisor

Tom Loefler was a top fundraiser for George W. Bush's election and reelection as the United States worst president in history, and now he thinks John McCain would continue that legacy for us by acting as his National Fundraising Chairman.

Republican Conservatives Make Their Backward Views Known to the World (and their bad English)

Get a Brain Morans!

No Amnety

Do They Look Like They Understand What a Scientific Theory is Compared to a Guess?

Some Conservative Republicans Even Believe the Earth is Only 6000 years old, or 10,000 Years Old.

They must not have paid attention in school - or maybe they were home schooled by Pat Robertson followers.

Global Warming has hit areas closer to the Equator the worst, this is a lake bed in Africa that has dried up much earlier than previously expected.

Time for a Change in our Environment and Energy Policy

Time for an Administration that actually believes that there is a problem, and has a plan to do something about it!

Remember the Mine Collapses in Utah and West Virginia?

The Bush administration loosened safety rules and regulations, and many of the political appointees appointed by the Bush administration refused to enforce safety rules and regulations in the West Virginia and Crandall CanyonUtah mines.

The Crandall Canyon mines were using a dangerous type of mining that by law were supposed to be closely regulated, but were not.

The Republican owner of the mine, tried to blame the collapse on a minor Earthquake, but most Geologists say that it was the mine collapse which caused the minor earthquake.

This Republican tool tried to blame the collapse on an Earthquake, but that's not what the experts were saying afterwards. He lives in Cleveland supposedly.

Another mine in West Virginia collapsed, but because of the lapses in safety regulatory inspections and enforcement, the miners didn't have enough safety air to survive until rescued.

Experts of mine safety say that for every miner, every several hundred yards, there should be air tanks on the walls in case of collapse, but the Bush administration disagreed, siding instead with the Mine owners who would like to save money on safety equipment like air tanks.

Miners in the West Virginia mine collapse paid for Bush's decision with their lives.

Violent Hate Crimes Rise During Conservative  Administration!

Violent Hate Crimes have increased dramatically during the Bush administration, against Homeless people, Hispanics, and Gay Americans.

These spikes in violent hate crimes often coincide with Conservative talk radio propoganda pushes against gay rights, targeting the hispanic community, or mocking the poor and homeless.

Below, Hispanics, both citizens and undocumented workers have experienced rises in hate crime violence following  Conservative talk radio rhetoric purposefully meant to stoke fear among the white population, often using 1950s style race baiting.

Below, Gay Americans have also been under attack by Right Wing thugs on the streets following Conservative talk radio diatribes against gay rights issues like the repealing of don't ask don't tell, anti-discrimination laws, and gay marriage debates

Violent hate crime attacks have also been rising amongst the poor and the homeless by upper class right wing punks.

Triangle Foundation -- the Detroit-based anti-violence and policy organization for lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgenders -- released its annual hate crimes report today. The report shows that in 2007, crimes and discrimination against the LGBT community and those with HIV had increased substantially over the last year. The report showed a 133 percent increase in crimes and discrimination reported in Michigan over 2006 statistics. In real numbers, Michigan reported 226 incidents in 2007, up from 97 reported incidents in 2006.

"I am saddened but not surprised by these numbers," said Melissa Pope, director of Victim Services at Triangle Foundation. "Hundreds of Michigan LGBT people are abused emotionally, physically and financially because of who they are. One person suffers anti-LGBT discrimination in Michigan every 29 hours and, of those individuals, one person suffers anti-LGBT violence, vandalism or harassment every 39 hours. It is my hope that this report will raise awareness to the treatment of LGBT persons in this state."

Reports such as these are being released across the country in nearly EVERY state of the union.

A proud Liberal, and a proud Atheist, I don't make excuses for who and what I am, and i will fight back against the Pat Robertsons, Glen Becks, James Dobsons of the world, but I won't lay off the the Ayatollahs or Mullahs either. I will push for radical change, against Theocracy and for Secularism and Atheism, against Free Market Capitalism and for Socialism, against Dogma and for Free thought. I will fight against the Right Wing and against Conservatism.
